Diminishing perk stacking makes sense, but it diminished the fun factor of builds.
Dbd obviously has to keep coming out with perks and it's going to be difficult to come out with balanced perks while also making sure they balance out with all the other stackable perks, so putting the diminishing stacking factor on it is essentially a bandaid so they can keep coming out with perks without having to worry about crazy buff/nerf stacking.
That being said, stacking is what makes a build fun and as a long time player of the game I think it's a bad idea to nerf that. For the devs and literal development of the game it's good, but for the player base it's def more of a fun capper if that makes sense.
Just wanted to put that out there, I'm sure others were thinking similarly.

Probably will lead to more meta oriented builds. Hope they can at least make a more diverse meta with time.

Yeah I don't really know how I feel about it but I'm not really favoring it atm.

It's out of order. Before doing diminishing returns, they really should have looked at generators/hooks or implementing some form of the 2v8 scaling difficulty first. Now it's just going to limit the game further and make it feel even more unfair.

It would be more acceptable if it affected perks by classification and not just modifiers. Currently its targeting is so limited that it's just going to tighten the meta. I don't know why they'd want to de-diversify builds but that's where we're heading.

I don't keep up with Behavior in terms of what they do, but this leads to Behavior having to show perk loadouts now.
I do not believe people should be penalized for having duplicate perks, if anything that is learning towards comp DBD - which Behavior treats as the black sheep on DBD.
You cannot claim the game isn't competitive, meanwhile enforcing rules and regulations that are only seen in comp DBD.
But I digress, more and more I get disconnected with the direction the game is going.

Im looking forward to it. Hopefully diminishing returns will deal with these reset speeds.

No more fun builds, only meta builds.

Do you remember Haste stacking Clown?
This wasn´t so fun but quite unique.
Perk stacking is always a problem which can be abused by coordinated teams.
Edit: Now I really wanna hear why I got downvoted. Do you guys want Haste Clown back or do you want SWFs which can pop gens in seconds?

Stacking perks makes things super unbalanced. Healing , gen rush meta is insane rn.

I just hope perks that are commonly combo'd with others get some buffs and we get some stronger individual perks out of it. An ideal for me would be perks that are worth running by themselves (in other words, please buff Self-Care).

The problem with that build was stupidly buffing the yellow bottles to instantly activate which made them better to use in every situation and braindead easy regardless of perks. When the yellow bottles were corrected, people still ran haste builds but it wasnt as ridiculous. As boring as I find Clown, I don't think he needs nerfs (direct or indirect) right now.

I never defended a buff or nerf on Clown neiter do I want him back.
I was just pointing out that Stacking of Perks can lead to really dumb game flaws which don´t let room for variety.
Do you remember Selfcare and why it got nerfed?
It could reach laughable times to heal yourself.

Dbd obviously has to keep coming out with perks and it's going to be difficult to come out with balanced perks while also making sure they balance out with all the other stackable perksMost "broken" perk combinations though aren't just straight stacking of perks. Sprint Burst+Vigil, Resurgence and a rescuer with a healing perk, Hyperfocus+Stake Out+Built to Last+Deja or Resilence, old BU+FTP - none of these would be touched by diminishing returns.

Perk-stacking can be abused by killers too, but yes, a co-ordinated 4-man team with certain stacked builds could indeed be problematic

Thats why I said remember Haste stacking Clown
I belive no Survivor had fun against that.

It was pure pain, that is for sure. I had the misfortune of playing a lot during that time, and the moment the clown nerfs hit, we could all breathe a sigh of relief.

I still see haste stacking clowns, they just throw their bottles in more optimal locations rather than on top of loops, if you get m1'd or by a furitive chase activation or the like its johver for you

I'm equally confused at why the diminishing returns feature is seeming so unpopular.
To me, it seems to neatly address some of the most complained about aspects of the game without being too intrusive on an ordinary match. There are a couple of things that've been hit by it that I don't love, but they can be ironed out in the future.
This seems to be a huge net W in my opinion. Maybe since it's been a while people just forgot how unpleasant the Haste stacking Clown was? I don't know.

I am not a fan of the diminishing returns. This should only work on gen-related stuff.
I don't believe that destroying niche builds is a way to go. Everyone will only play meta now.
