New Player Nightmare Diminishing Returns
Spookyloops made a really good point imagine your a new player to DBD you see these perks and those simplified descriptions like Sprint burst 50% haste and you run a build that gets diminished.
How are you genuinely supposed to know? Your 50% Sprintburst is now 10% being useless and you don't know why? How come while your picking your perks if any perks trigger diminishing returns is highlighted red to indicate your perks are weaker?
This system seems so genuinely flawed is going to do more harm then good.

I guess the way to know is WHILE selecting perks they apply the "diminish" in the text for the %s

In what scenario would you have so many stacked haste perks and effects that Sprint Burst would only be at 20% effectiveness? xD Considering that means at least two of them gives more than 50% haste.
From what I understood you will only get diminishing returns when you are affected buy the various effects and you always get 100% of the strongest effect. It's just that combinations like Hope + Sprint burst will now give 53.5% haste rather than 57% because Hope would only work at 50% effectiveness while Sprint Burst is applied, then go back to full 7% after SB runs out.1 -
Except noboy runs Sprint Burst with any other haste/Exhaustion perk so it does not make any difference whatsoever. It's still 50%.
And even if you were to combine things like Lithe and Balanced Landing, they can never be active at the same time so whenever you use one or the other, they will be at full strength.
This will be much more noticeable on things like healing perks that are active at all times (either on self-heals or altruistic heals). Botany Knowledge and Desperate Measures, for example. Depending on how many Survivors are injured, Desperate Measures can be weaker than 50% or stronger. Whichever perk has the highest value at the time of the heal gets the full speed, the other gets reduced by half.1
