Cheating is becoming way too normal and it’s exhausting to deal with.
I need to bring this up because it’s getting genuinely frustrating to deal with.
Cheating in this game feels way more noticeable than it used to be. It’s not even subtle half the time — you’ll see things like impossible movement, instant interactions, or survivors/killer seemingly having perfect information every second of the match. And it’s happening often enough that it’s starting to affect how the game feels overall.
The issue isn’t just “one bad match” either. It’s the consistency. You queue up, and there’s always that thought in the back of your mind now "is this actually a normal match, or is someone just breaking the rules?" That alone kind of ruins the experience.
What makes it worse is the lack of clarity around action being taken. Reports feel like they disappear into nothing, and there’s no real feedback loop so players know anything is actually being handled. So it just ends up feeling like nothing changes, even when the problem is obvious in-game.
I also think it’s fair to say the game is already stressful enough without having to second guess every interaction. You lose a chase or a match and instead of thinking “I misplayed,” it’s now “was that even legit?”
I’m not saying every strong or unusual play is cheating, but the line is getting blurred more and more because of how frequent the obviously illegitimate stuff feels.
At minimum, it would be good to see more communication or visible action around it, because right now it just feels like an ignored part of the experience.
It’s getting to a point where it’s hard to stay motivated to play when you’re not even sure the matches are being played fairly.

I have noticed it being significantly worse than in years past as well. I got four terminator bots in a single morning the other day. Like these bots just stream on youtube from what I have heard and nothing is done about them. Tonight I got a cheating spirit with multiple game bans on their account. It was obvious they could see exactly where everyone was. Two of the people on my team claimed to be comp players and they each had 7000 hours and even they could do nothing against this person. It's just an every day occurrence at this point.

Was playing with my duo yesterday, and i swear over 50% of the killers had me suspicious of possible hacks of one way or another. Like a hillbilly taking maximum 2 seconds to find the next person after each hook, without any aura reading or info perks. Wesker following you to your exact location 10 seconds after using a spray as if he had the aura addon but nope. Another hillbilly that could to 180 degree turns AFTER already moving straight for a second. And Allot more sketchy things.
And yea even on youtube there are people just streaming themselves hacking, promoting their website and all.

It's nowhere as bad as it used to be. You clearly haven't been playing DBD for a long time.

Sadly I feel that BHVR is caring less about Cheaters. I reported this Cheater three weeks ago:
I have censored everything except for the comments, his activity and part of two accounts which are his friends. Those are his girlfriend or boyfriend (who according to comments on their profile is also cheating and also currently playing the game) and his first account, which got banned from a game and according to the comments there, it was DBD and they were cheating for a LONG time.
The comments show what they are doing. Basically playing Wesker and whenever they use the power, their Ping spikes to up to 600. Played against them, obviously unplayable as Survivor since you have no idea where you actually are on their screen. 78 comments, all saying that this person is cheating. First comment done on 20th of March.
And last but not least the activity - still happily playing DBD.
I reported them and I also got the confirmation that my report was looked at. But since they are still playing, even 2 weeks after I got the confirmation, the answer must have been "Nah Bro, they are legit". To put this into perspective: This is a person who
- Cheats every game
- Is Ban Evading
- Has a profile FULL of people saying that they cheated
- Has a profile full of people who said they cheated on a previous account
and this person is still allowed to play.
Needless to say, I am done reporting cheaters. It should be up to BHVR to find and ban Cheaters, not up to the players to report them, just so that BHVR does nothing. I am not even saying cheating is very common, my experience is that Cheaters are rare. But it should not be my Job to show them to BHVR or at the very least, BHVR should then do something if it is so clear that someone is cheating.

I think it's highly dependent on the region. From what I've gathered, EU sees a lot of cheaters.

Cheating has almost none downfall in this game and it takes lot of time before they even get noticed and banned depending on how they cheat and even then new account isnt that hard to get still these days I would say so no wonder they exist more and more on top Im starting to see way more cheaters making clips and vids seeking validation, DBD is headed to be cheaters game sadly.

Asia is a lot worse especially since a lot of us here are extremely competitive.
