The Blood Moon Event is such a massive letdown
The gameplay as survivor is so SO mind numbingly boring despite the gamemode being LITERALLY survivor-sided. Walk around to drop blood off to a tub. Gee, how fun. And with absolutely none of the interesting and creepy blood shrine globules from before.
The gameplay as Killer is extremely obnoxious; you have to try and catch up with Survivors that have literally 4 incredibly fast gens that can be easily knocked out of the game in no-time, forcing you to play as a sweaty meta-sucking mobility or niche killer. Meanwhile, the blood event only gives you the ability to gain extra points by kicking canisters over or hitting survivors holding them. Wowie, how fun and new.

Its more interesting than sitting on gens hitting skill checks. I played killer with random perks in the event and did not really need to sweat at all the matches did not differ from the normal queue match and the match time was the same as on normal mode around 10-15 minutes.

I think this game could definitely benefit from more game modes that aren't just basic copy and paste modes from the main meta but nobody is out here giving out ideas for free anymore and why should they. I've noticed this across multiple games where forums and discords or other media platforms are used as tools to gather ideas from players/consumers where companies just outright take them for their own so now companies have to come up with their own ideas and since they're corporate owned they don't really have any genuine ideas because a corporations soul purpose is to maximize profits not come up with interesting new concepts which is why they resorted to 'player suggestions' no offence but companies and corporations used to have to pay people for ideas or new concepts now they just get them for free and massively profit off them.
This is why you see indie devs dropping titles left and right that are far more interesting and cost efficient than most AAA titles and also function better on a technical level as well because they're not hindered by corporate greed firing 50,000 people crushing the games integrity and performance to save money in order to falsely boost the image of their revenue gain to their shareholders before selling all their stocks then repeating the same process with the next company they buy. This is why many people call AAA gaming dead amongst the other myriad of issues currently plaguing AAA gaming.
This game could do so much better, but like others have said, if you're making record profits selling broken characters, skins and broken content, what is incentivising a change in this scenario? Absolutely nothing, they're making millions selling this stuff and unless everyone stops playing tomorrow there is no reason for them to change, even if they did stop playing tomorrow BHVR would just close shop and move on, they already made hundreds of millions. Best bet is to just try and find something you actually enjoy which is obviously near impossible in the current climate if you're an OG gamer or cinema lover sadly. You still get a few odd gems here and there, I hear Dying Light: The Beast is great, Techland usually delivers when it comes to their games the same way Rockstar does, not all these corporations are inherently evil and ripoffs though many of them are, just gotta look closely and listen to trusted reviewers when they tell you something just isn't quite right.

I don't really enjoy this event as either role

Blood Moon needs to have a in depth rework or needs to be retired as a game mode honestly. Can still have a "bloodmoon celebration" but don't need a whole game mode.

Walking to repair is boring? Yeah, because spending over a minute sitting on a generator is clearly an incredible adventure.
But seriously, what kind of gameplay would you have suggested instead?

It really hasn't been my experience that this event is particularly survivor sided.
Blood Gens aren't that great and certainly aren't as efficient as some make them out to be. Once you include the time spent finding and running to a blood pump, filling a blood can, and running back to the gen then it can easily take as long or longer than if you were just doing a regular gen. Get caught by the killer while you have a blood can in your hand and all that 'progress' is suddenly negated because as you're chased you're losing blood which which makes filling the can wasted time.
Now add to that the fact that it greatly extends the area in which you CAN be caught out by the killer while doing a single gen from just the gen to a whole path between the gen and a blood pump.
Blood Pumps and their habit of spawning in clusters frequently gift the killer a 3 gen setup from the start of the match. There are not enough regular gens to just do them and not blood gens so you can't really do anything about it besides accept that it's going to suck if the killer figures out that they should hang around the blood pumps.
Is it killer sided? I don't know - between the mechanics, the fact that MMR is all over the place, and the frenzying effect events seem to have on killers I can't say WHY more survivor matches are miserable than usual but I can say that they ARE more miserable than usual (in my experience). Either way I do feel confident in saying it's at least NOT survivor sided.

Yes, walking around lugging a container to point A and B is B O R I N G.
What, you enjoy the fact they removed the status enhancement blood glob buffs they had in other iterations? The blood zones at least created a dynamic gameplay in chases, giving survivors and killers various buffs to create a tense back and forth. Instead we have Survivors getting boring and easy to pop gens, and killers get… to kick over jugs.
This game mode used to have ACTUAL unique elements. Instead it's a walking simulator that is usually over in 5 minutes if the survivors aren't braindead morons.
So, yeah. It's BORING.0 -
This was best Blood Moon event so far and I don't really have any complaints on either side. Only problematic thing that I noticed was some survivor perks being able to load way faster with blood gens but that should be easy to fix in the next one. Another would be maybe that the pumps should not spawn in one area but rather in max two at same point but still I also don't see the problem with the distance to the gens as even with this events distribution it did not make anything impossible to do just made it more interesting to not have the last years four blood gens done fast as can be. Now at least there was some variation of what gens got done.

Maybe you should work on your killer gameplay if thats what you think about this mode.

The past year of DBD has been a massive letdown.

I sublimate the issue by tunneling as Krasue, thank you. Something tells me by your private profile that you are enthralled by easy mode for survivors.
If gens are gonna be THAT fast then I'm gonna make up for it by being as sweaty as possible from the get-go and only let up if I feel like it.0 -
You don't have to play the event. I wish they brought some more events back, also in my opinion it is clearly Killer sided to me, it can be a headache at times, so I take small breaks in the event. Also a lot of fun has been sucked from the game, I know some peeps hated older things that happened, but I miss some certain nostalgia of this game. Be nice for some fresh ideas to add to the game, I very much have always liked the sun down/sunset, change of weather during the game, just as I seen how good it can look and be on other games. Maybe instead of the blood gasoline like things, we can drain team mates :D

Like I said. Work on your gameplay. You dont even understand the basic math behind this mode. Nor do you take into account any bugged content. Youre screaming BIAS.

I haven't notice it really being survivor sided. The gas tanks actually spawn basically all in same place. Sometimes far away from gens so this time it's feels to be more killer sided than before instead. It's just easy to patrol them.
Maybe overall the mode is slightly more survivor sided than main mode but this is often not even noticeable. They should add something new to the mode. It does get bit stale.

The blood pools a few years ago was so fun and unique. I p100’d Nemesis and Wesker from that event alone

dam i actually found it mad fun as survivor minus a few bad blood pump spawns . Moving around with a pump is far more engaging then sitting on a gen for 90 seconds . Also pumps in general can be done faster and one gas can can fully charge perks like blastmine , wiretap etc. i found it for this time.

I know some people weren't a fan of it but I thought the iron will/coup pools were neat. I got some value as loud people like feng/Claire

Blood gens are faster than regular ones also the progress is more explosive because one full blood can fills like 1/3 or 1/4 of blood gen and all i depends on blood pumps which can still spawn near blood gens.
Hooks are more in corners or missing because blood pumps spawn instead of them so sometimes important hooks are missing like near mains ect., survivors move more so it can be harder to find them than its in normal mode.
I had done in 5 games 3 adepts with ease and escaped a lot latter because of howthis mode is bit essier than regular one. On killer I played both modes and even when I got sweatier teams and swf in regular mode I had more wins there than in this mode because bloodgens are harder to stop.

They're really not unless you ignore all the time spent getting the blood into a can and carrying that can back to the gen. It only feels faster because the bar moves faster when you're on the gen and you aren't thinking about the 10-20 seconds you spent getting that blood can filled and to the gen. After the novelty of blood gens wore off I spent the rest of my survivor time in this event wishing for normal gens.

That has not been my experience in this event. Scourge hooks maybe but generic hooks - there's always one nearby. Survivors moving more is a double edged sword. They might not be on a gen but they're more easily spotted just walking out in the open between blood pumps and gens. Catch them in the open and guess what happens to all that blood gen progress they're carrying in their hands - poof!
From a survivor perspective, between sticking my neck out and walking blood back and forth from blood pumps to blood gens and sitting nice and comparatively cozy in a jungle gym with a regular gen I'll take the jungle gym and regular gen.
On killer I played both modes and even when I got sweatier teams and swf in regular mode I had more wins there than in this mode because bloodgens are harder to stop.
If you get the common spawn pattern of 3 blood pumps super close to each other then blood gens are very easy to stop. Camp the pumps. Its obnoxious but there's not much anything other than coordinated teams can do about it.

"Gameplay" has nothing to do with it when the odds are heavily stacked against you through RNG.
Enough of your pointless blather. You say I scream Bias when I play both sides and can very easily see the massive letdown this event is on both sides. I'm not some malt-brained yesman the way you are.0 -
Half the playerbase is in the game mode (Which spoils MMR in regular game modes) and you miss out on BP AND your bloodwebs are infested with event-only offerings for it, so just ignoring it is literally constantly punished by the game itself. -_-
The "Blood Drain" from teammates is a better idea than the idiotic canisters, as it could be fun making it dangerous for survivors, like sacrificing a hook state making it riskier, or making them weaker by losing blood. They were so much better than the crap that has come out as of recent. At least both sides got something instead of this stupid rush simulator.
The PROBLEM is gens are done too fast and survivors get tons of value out of walking around while Killers get very minimal rewards for getting gens done in their faces. If hitting a survivor made them DROP the can at least then they wouldn't be able to just finish in your face. But whatever. it's over now and hopefully gets gutted or replaced next year.
Gens are done much faster, Survivors can walk canisters from anywhere and not lose blood while the Killer has to make two patrol routes for one Blood gen, Survivors don't drop canisters when hit, the Stations have RNG and MIGHT be close together. It's MORONIC design.

I'm surprised they don't think of doing a prob hunt mod i believe it can be very famous.
