This 10th Anniversary Event is so painful.

I am only sticking it out for some of the BP, but it’s miserable. 😮‍💨

Really enjoyed my 1 hook.

The bonus points from the event are negligible and non-multipliable by the Tortes. Once you got the event quests done there really isn't much point staying in the event queue aside from faster killer queue times.

The only killer who I've found is in any way more enjoyable in the event mode is Vecna.

That's… D&D Vecna, I mean. The poison synergizes pretty well with Mage Hand.

Henry is painful in the event mode.

Yeah, that event is just so stupid and painful. I cannot understand how the developers cannot make a balanced or at least fun for both sides event after ten years. I was really excited for the event but it's a disappointment in every single way: Less cakes in the bloodweb due to high rarity, less rewards (compared to older events), and a huge amount of stupid abilities for survivors while killers have the boring bottle thing or blight-immunity in the endgame.

What you won't find on the forums is people actually writing posts saying "How good the event is".. and as always only whining killer mains get to say their frustration and be vocal about it, because they didn't get an ability to down all 4 survivors at a press of a button..

NOTHING literally changes with the game.. SWF always stomps average killers, the only difference is, now, they can coordinate to stomp even harder.. SOLO QUEUE experience is also the same, randos running around like headless chickens doing nothing all game.. I have to run hatch finding items or perks just for this, because I lost MOST of my games otherwise.. killers are still camping and slugging, same as before..

So I'll say it again: THANK YOU TO THE DEV TEAM, FOR PUTTING UP TOGETHER SUCH A GREAT EVENT!!!

I'm enjoying the event as killer, so there's one person for you. I do think alot of the criticisms are valid though. The cake situation is bs, and killer is a lot more uninteractive than survivor. I do also think killers should be taking advantage of the poison more than they are. I've done pwyw and really had only one game where the killer actually properly used poison. Most killers I faced were playing like it was normal mode, which i can also understand as killer is very easy to fall into autopilot mode.

Most people who complain are killer mains, who probably didn't even try to play as a survivor.. just read "invincibility" "speed" "invisibility" and started to rage.. while I do agree, there probably should have been more interactions with the killer, for example if you get poisoned and jump a pallet it should insta break, or become oblivious instead of invisibility.. I dunno.. because the actual poison IS OVERPOWERED, but doesn't give too much strategy or thinking, just throw at survivor and catch him before he even moved 2 meters.. but I think it's completely justifiable.. look at the numbers, nobody wants to play the camp and slug fest that is DBD anymore..it's not enjoyable.. only toxic SWFs are left to demolish good killers, but solo Q is a disaster.. killers complain that someone turned invisible for 3 seconds, as if they teleported to the other side of the map.. just search the area for a second and you most definitely will find the surv.. 3 seconds invincibility? just wait it out like Dead Hard.. not that big of a deal… people are making it sound a lot worse than it actually is.. insta heal survivors? sure.. but generally the downside is nobody doing gens or anything, just running around the map.. sometimes the cart is next to the table yes, sometimes is 10 tiles away.. that is a bit stupid I agree.. then you have gens that dissappeared because they put the festive banquet or the table there.. sometimes even making the map 3 genned by default.. gens spawning 1 tile away from each other.. but all of these have been discussed..

What's hilarious is killers saying: let's camp and tunnel and slug as a revenge for this 'bad' event.. as if that didn't ALREADY happened.. running only iri addons and op perks.. as if that isn't already you regular queues.. what are we even talking about..

And the cakes are fine, I have hundreds of cakes for months to come, without even using my 10mil whom I spent instantly..

I don't know what lobbies you guys are getting but my solo queue teams are incredible in this game mode they always use the tables as soon as anyone gets injured and I only really lose if the killer hard tunnels at 4-5 gens. Even then if they're good at chase you can just take hits then spam tables to heal them, rinse and repeat.

Killer Main here. I play plenty of survivor. The event is busted in the survivor's favor. It is what it is. I just wanted more interactions is all. Even if the event is busted for Survivors.

This has been my biggest frustration with this event. The survivors go out of their way to prevent me from interacting with the event outside of the only thing they can't stop me from doing, poisoning tables.

Try to take chase? Invisibility or speed boost to Narnia. Manage to find them anyway, get a hit and poison them to secure the down? Oops, lost a gen and they just got remote healed to full. Try to patrol gens to locate anyone for a chase? Nah, they preran with a speed boost or invisibility the moment they could hear the terror radius. Actually manage to secure a down? Get body blocked by a conga line of invisible or invulnerable survivors so I can't even get some damn BP from a hook.

I never got into playing Ghoul/Billy/Nurse/Blight. I don't enjoy them so I'm not practiced with them. I normally play M1 killers, so most of my experience is with them. They're what I enjoy. But if I want to participate in the event, I'm actively punished by the event mechanics for trying, and then denied being able to even get a consolation prize in BP by my opponents. It would be bad enough if it was just all the busted event powers I had to deal with, but pile on survivors going to extreme lengths to make my play experience not only miserable while at the same time actively doing all they can to prevent me from earning any BP? It's literally the definition of unsportsmanlike.

I used to get really excited about the anniversary event. Even last year, with the reduced cakes, I still played a ton and had fun as killer and survivor. But after getting my face pushed in match after match, and not even being allowed to make it worth my time by earning some BP just makes me not want to play the game at all. It's disheartening.

I haven't played much killer because I'm normally survivor for the social aspect with my friend but most of the matches I've had during the event have been quite successful such as this time I played Nemesis against a SWF. Full gen protection build worked out well

Curious if you advocated for this too when the events have been historically killer sided?

Many I found good here like bubba, billy, legion, jason, ghoul and some more are viable the main thing is time wasting or gaining build and killer which powers works well with poison.

Henry has to hit multiple shots before his power activates and he can do actualy something which in here where survivors can become invisiable or get sprint or be invincible is bad.

Key thing is the invincibility for 3 seconds has counter in many forms like many range attacks or some powers like weskers bounds bypass it and injure survivor still or effect them like plague who is another great killer who works well with poison.

Still some effects when survivors arent potatoe tier are busted way more then some of these killers I named.

I have. I play both killer and survivor. I had issues with killer event mechanics like remote hook and breaking pallet without kicking it. Just because one side was OP during one event doesn't make it okay that it's now OP only for the other side. If they kept the stuff for killer in the last events and had this for survivor, it wouldn't be that bad. The fact that BHVR likes to alienate one side of their community constantly is the issue. It causes more of a toxic community with "us vs them".

We are all just gamers that enjoy this game. We should want what is best for everyone, not just one group of players.

Even though my dbd stats show I play survivor more - this game mode is a huge problem. I have had so many killers DC because my friends and I are on the cakes going back and forth with the main table. Sometimes the dining carts are right next to a dining table. After not being able to break pallets, losing survivors to invisibility, being able to avoid poison bottles, having on demand sprint burst, being able to rebuild pallets, and healing a survivor the killer is chasing… why would they continue to play? It's horrible as killer.

I did killers to get my challenges done and I haven't played since. It was awful.

This event is truly the biggest pile of pure and utter garbage ive ever played in all my 28 years of gaming. They literally took all the worst parts of the game, all of the uninteractive parts of the game and multiplied it by a thousand and gave it to survivors to use freely with zero restrictions on their own loadouts.

And its only going to get worse…

You know you can poison, hit two times for the power and only then the first damage hit removes the poison?

  • Abbzy

If so he is little better than I though but i still think portals and invisibility can break him compleatly because of how effective it is and how spameable it is.

Still not bad choice I would say better then blight in this mode.

Man I regret even slightly defending this event. I want to play killer because if I play survivor it's usually some sweatlord who tunnels and slugs for the 4k. As killer I can only find fun with Legion. It's painful.

This is so true most the time i find myself just walking around doing nothing because they just disappeared or get an endurance to the pallet. It feels like why am I playing the event to not actually play the game. I definitely didn't sign up for a walking sim to look at gens but that's what most my killer matches have been.

Been playing alot of survivor and the poison is just as bs as it seemed. It completely takes the fun part out of the game and just guarantees a hit most the time. I got to say they really messed this one up because it feels like most the mechanics in thos event just don't want you to participate in chase.
