Where’s the PTB?
Alright new month, new roadmap, and new chapter next month which means there should be a new PTB right? Right?

Yeah they've been oddly silent on this. Surely if a midchapters gonna be skipped over wed be informed? Rightttt?

PTB for Chorus of Sin should be somewhere early August.
But yeah, it's strange that there seems to be no mid-chapter patch between Jason and Chorus of Sin.0 -
it’s possible that Shane was the mid-Chapter since he released separately from Jason but if that was the case, there should’ve been some balance changes since they aren’t doing that anymore for major content releases for some reason. And if he was a mid chapter, why was there no PTB for him and why were his perks just slapped into the Jason PTB.

Shane was not a midchapter. Usually, the midchapter drops alongside a new rift. The upcoming rift will drop with the third hotfix.
The next PTB might be on August 4th since the Grimore chapter will be released on August 25th.
It's just a big disappointment that the devs decided to balance stuff in midchapters only and then just cancel the very next one. It's been also around six months since we got the killer survey - up until now, no announcement from the devs what their conclusion or decision based on the survey will be. Over a year ago (March 2025) we gave them our feedback about Artist's addons and nothing has happened since then. It would be nice to see an update from them just to know they didn't waste our time.

I Hope so as well but I don’t think that should the end of it. I think if they are really no longer doing balance changes for major DLC drops the balance changes should be larger to compensate. Just look back at our most recent mid-chapter the biggest things there were diminishing returns and the Blight nerfs, and rest were just the most insignificant and stale numbers adjustments for some of the mid to low tier characters.

I keep hoping it'll be the MMR rework. That wouldn't really need a ptb.

It's sad to see no midchapter after getting so many high maintenance announcements. We know what the team is currently spending its time on, but it doesn't change that we've been getting table scraps worth of balances changes, and the little tweaks we do get are the usual amount of controversial among the wider community.
I hope next year focuses itself more on the current cast than adding new members to it. Plenty of killers need minor changes to be brought up to current level or have pain points facing or playing as them addressed to just make the game more fun.

It will be a shame that we will only have a midchapter in October (probably). Balance changes make this game fresh and having nothing but the new killer/surv and their new perks won't be enough to make us attached to the game in the long time.

I feel like the devs try a new direction where they spam event-mode after event-mode - We gonna get Chaos Shuffle and Lights Out in August alongside the Grimore chapter (three new perks for each side), 2v8 in September (at leas three weeks), and then Haunted By Daylight in October. Then comes Terrifier in November and new Mall Map alongside Winter event in December). Spamming new content is an old strategy from the devs that worked for so long and now they do it again. That is also a way to keep the player numbers high.
However, I hope the devs don't forget about the normal dbd. I'm okay with balance changes only in midchapters but then they have to be big and meaningful and not getting cancelled or a big nothing burger.

I thought Shane was just the "yeah, we know you guys wanted Tommy but this was the best we could do" survivor.

They're not even excusing the blatant lack of content anymore.
