It's time to go...

I mean it's still alright you're still getting to a tile to loop with it you're just not going across the map.

Yes, it was too good of a perk, lmao. That's why it's finally being toned down a little.
-10 -
It didn't need nerf

I just don’t like perks in this day and age of dbd that just gives you free value from doing nothing sprint burst was exactly that
-16 -
so you don’t like lethal pursuer, lightborn, Ruin, Corrupt? Or is it just survivor perks you don’t like.

They will not go for the weaker versions of SB, SB was free haste for literally nothing and lithe and balanced landing require an activation, balance landing is also quite map dependent so don't expect nerfs to it. SB was the best exhaustion perk and would remain strong after the nerf but not as bad that it's unplayable for 4.4 killers against it (obviously I am not talking about blight), now the survivor will need to think where to run (to the materials) instead of just holding W and wasting a lot of time.
-7 -
Lethal is needed with how bugged spawns are at the moment. Ruin is a hex so you need to protect it and get people off gens. Lightborn cant be changed till we get an dark blind and epilepsy setting sense people run it purely because of medical reasons. And corrupt is a one time perk that you need to be taken advantage of and even then with bugged spawns I have seen survivor spawn next to me and all the corrupt blocks were no where near the survivors so it literally did nothing.
-14 -
It's gonna hurt to see this one go onto the scrap heap. Especially so for me, since I don't really like any of the other exhaustion perks. Ironically, I only switched over to SB when MFT got nerfed into the ground. So whatever perks Survivors move on to after this will get nerfed before very long, I'm sure of it.
Besides Head On for my locker Dwight build, I might just give up on them all together and lean more heavily into stealth builds. It might still find a place in my anti-tunnel build, which has become a bit of a museum of eviscerated Survivor perks these days (Made for This + Off The Record + Sprint Burst + Wicked), but I can't see myself ever running it alone.
I'm not going to pretend it wasn't one of the best Survivor perks (it was), but it did come with a pretty big downside in the fact that you couldn't save it for the ideal moment (not unless you wanted to walk around the map all game, which would only be good for the Killer).
Now that it will be one of the weaker exhaustion perks, I think there's a solid argument to make it activate with a button press. But I'm pretty sure Killers that hate SB would riot if BHVR did such a thing, so I don't expect that to happen.

The golden age of lithe is about to start. Sprintburst was a staple perk for years in my standard survivor build, i'll have to adapt.

For the record, I only ever wanted vigil nerfed. Sprint burst on its own was untouched for like 10 years for a reason. It only became a problem recently, maybe in part to people playing 2v8 wanting the extremely strong escapist class in 1v4 and saw that pairing sb with vigil gave you exactly that.

SB has always been high-tier, ever since the early days of DBD. It is time for changes, that is for sure.
Then again SB in of itself isn't the worst offender, but when it is paired up with Vigil (in the current state of 66%), that is where the problems arise.
The question is then, what will ultimately replace SB as the top tier exhaustion perk? Lithe? Balanced Landing? Dead Hard? Overcome?Though, I do wish there were more significant changes to the killer meta as well. A lot of us are genuinely tired of seeing the quad slowdown builds, all the time. It really kills creativity on the killer side.
-5 -
I wanted a Vigil change as well. I wouldn't have minded a SB activation condition as a change, but this isn't what I wanted to see.
Stealth is what I currently use and it goes very well for me. I live in fear those perks will get nerfed too.
3 -
Its a good thing imo. Most players should use Lithe anyways, bc they dont use SB to its fullest potential.
I thought it would be a good perk for beginner, but my friends struggled with it. They didnt fall for the beginner trap (walking all the time) bc i told them, but now they were often exhausted when the killer showed up. They got far more value from lithe.
-1 -
Can't even compare them. Lethal a one time use at the start if the game to value from the other half of the perk you must have an aura perk, lightborn there for people with eye issues, Ruin a hex that can easily be destroyed and must chase survivors off gens to get value, and corrupt a one time use at the start of the game that last a set time or get first down. Sprint Burst gives value at any point of the match for doing absolutely nothing other than run to trigger it.
-15 -
NOT THE GENETIC LIMITS 😭
1 -
you can compare them because its all free value at the start. You just don’t like when people point out the double standard.
Ruin - You don’t need to chase a survivor off a gen, you just need to get them off a gen. More often than not the only person working on a gen has to go get a save which means the killer just got free regression.
Corrupt - still free game delay for the survivors. They start near blocked gens so they can’t progress.
Lightborn - free value as free value can get.
Again there is a lot more perks that both sides can argue get free value. Hence why its a horrible argument that never should’ve been allowed to get off the ground.
12 -
The fact that they changed the time and not the haste amount, means that the new judgement killer perk Under Your Thumb will restrict the haste to 25% for 2 seconds instead of 3.
6 -
maybe I'll play a bit less Ghoul; we will see. I was hoping for a Finesse gutting though.

One of my favourite stealth builds of recent times is the SB + Vigil + Lightweight + Ghost Notes one, because it lets you zoom about the map without leaving a trace. Funny thing is, the nerfs to SB and Vigil don't even affect this build at all. Lightweight + Ghost notes is good to combo with any exhaustion perk, tbh. I'm kinda surprised it's survived for as long as it has because as soon as I saw a certain content creator / player consultant had the same idea that I did, I worried the days were numbered for this perk combo. That said, it's not very common so it might continue to fly under the radar for a little longer.
I don't worry too much unless there's a noisy and sustained string of complaints about something. After all, it's taken BHVR 9 years to nerf SB but it was only really in the last 6 months or so that the complaining actually became loud enough for BHVR to feel like they had do something about it. They might claim to be data lead when it comes to nerfing things, but I definitely feel like they listen to the noisiest player feedback above all else.

Its just another proof that bhvr has lost all game sense.

I see that build occasionally, though I think Ghost Notes and Lightweight are diminished together.
I'm kinda unhappy that I was part of that complaining. I didn't think it would be nerfed in a vacuum. I wasn't spurred on by anything but my own experiences on killer but I do wonder what caused all the recent complaints, especially with every new killer coming out as A tier and often overtuned. SB is really only an issue for me on Henry. On everyone else I'm fine with it.
But that's what constantly concerns me. All it takes is the right CC locking their gaze onto something and it's days are numbered. It's been particularly bad this last year.

It's 4 killer perks against 16 survivor perks. Killer perks should be stronger on average compared to survivors. Ruin, Corrupt, lethal lot of other killer perks that doesn't require the killer to put in any effort to activate but most of them only can activate at specific times of the match and becomes a dead perk after its use. Sprint Burst i never liked cause it can be used at any time of the trail without any effort on the survivors part.
-13 -
SB's popularity is still going to remain, what they're shaving off in distance they're giving back in giving it an activation key apparently which makes saving it and using it demand a hell of a lot more better. I honestly don't see people giving it up even after the nerfs.
-6 -
this has not been confirmed and is very likely a fake image. they would’ve told us they had more changes planned for sprint burst but all they told us was the duration nerf.
don’t believe everything you see online.

The argument seems to be constantly shifting.
First it was no free value, then it was well these perks can't be compared (then @MashedBroccoli did just that), now we're doing the 4 v 16 argument.
The argument is silly for an obvious reason - if the survivors had 10 second gens the killer could have 20 perks.
Things can't be discussed in isolation as if each element is meant to directly balance against the other.
Sprint Burst i never liked cause it can be used at any time of the trail without any effort on the survivors part.SB has obvious conditions and draw backs like any other perk. You go exhausted anytime you run, even if you don't want to, so you need to either have perks to support it or take the risk the killer comes to while you have no exhaustion perk to rely on.

Been needing a nerf for a long time now. -1 second of the speed is honestly a slap on the wrist.
-14 -
Why would anyone run Dramaturgy ever again if this was true? They'd be almost the same but without Drama's risk.
1 -
based off 2v8 feedback they better not do that. That would make it a net BUFF to SB lmao. has to be fake....plus then it'd be stepping on Dramaturgys toes
-1 -
You can compare them when the initial point was that perks shouldn't give value without activation requirements. If we go down that route then LP, CI, and LB will definitely be dragged into the firing line, as much as folks like to "but but but"
11 -
I won't know until I try it, but I don't think much will change. Maybe just how it's used will shift slightly. You can still manage fatigue and use it during chases just like before.

Like I don't understand how laguid touch is not played much. It's insane against exhasution perks.
0 -
I believe they said that it's first step and if it will remain problematic it will see changes in future. Fe. Thrill is getting nerfed but they announced it will be part of the 45 perks changes in mid-chapter
-1 -
Lethal gives a net buff to all aura reading for doing nothing but okay
12 -
I've always preferred Lithe to Sprint Burst but Overcome is nice too (except against a 1 shot killer 😭)

Personally I wanna do a unique build but diminishing returns ruined it, I don't feel like doing a haste build when majority of the value is gone, slowdown does actually get nerfed like pop got technically nerfed recently, pain res is not as strong as it once was and slow down is needed to keep up with the gen speed, if a slowdown nerf is needed then Hyperfocus and stakeout should also get nerfed, btw killer meta is getting nerfed with SB and vigil, the coulrophobia is in the slugging meta (which survivors complained about a lot) so it's getting nerfed and thrill is in the hex meta is getting nerfed (which survivors complained about as well) and nowhere to hide was kind of always meta.

So getting 2 more seconds of aura on another perk/add-on is better than slowdown? Getting more info is just not better than a slowdown perk, you can use corrupt intervention on killer to know roughly the survivors starting location and a slowdown. Survivors also have a perk that gives more aura for nothing and also vigil gives an insane buff for existing to multiple survivors actually in radius, for nothing.
-5 -
that was my point, there is so much free stuff for both sides that it should’ve never been used as an attack on perks. Now every single perk like lethal, ci, lb, ruin and all the other free value perks can and should be held to the same standard. Strength of the perk doesn’t matter, its either free value or not free value.
it was a horrible argument that never should’ve been let off the ground by killer content creators who lack critical thinking skills. When those free value perks eventually get hit, they will just scream about survivor hand holding without understanding they did it to themselves. It’s going to be a oh no the leopard’s ate my face moment.
“Killers get their hands held by bhvr sweet man
Survivors get their hands held by bhvr bad man”

In 5 months they will boost it to 4s.

I can't wait till they just tie up survivors and let the killer hit us. Maybe then they will stop crying about everything

The problem with sprint burst isn't that the activation requirement is easy, its that other exhaustion perks have to devote either pathing or resources in a way that can be played around, AND have more limited usage in macro situations. Its just better at everything!
Its one of the best options for attacking generators during late game by forcing a killer to either overcommit or go away regardless of where that gen actually is. If theres a close unhook situation and the killer goes after the unhooker, it lets you reposition around the map for heals faster without giving away your position and needing a vault point (lithe) or needing more specific locations (balanced landing) while ALSO being good against tunneling in the opposite instance. It makes prerunning before you even got into a chase to begin with EXCEPTIONALLY stronger and you can do that from anywhere, regardless of the map or individual location aside from dead end gens (which would make lithe and balanced just as useless). Its even better against stealth killers without a terror radius, given you can instantly react to spotting them unlike other perks.
Not only that, but it suffered significantly less from counters to exhaustion. Notoriously, Vigil + Sprint Burst is as much a counter to Mindbreaker as the other way around for non stealth killers as its trivial to just walk for 3 seconds during a chase, and that might as well just be handing them a free 99%, and the perk just doesn't care about Genetic Limits or Languid Touch.
Its better than basically every other option against the VAST majority of the killer cast at higher skill levels (and I'm not talking competitive here, I mean higher skill in the general playerbase) and its not even going to be bad after the nerfs! Its STILL going to be strong! I'm not sure why it being put more in line with the strength of other exhaustion options is some kind of cataclysmic issue, here.-1 -
yes I am. I am a big fan of perks like pain res, bbq, pop etc. you have to do your objective to get value.
-1 -
Probably going to get mad downvotes for this but...
I've always thought sprint burst was a bit rubbish personally. You enforce slowdown on yourself (no urgent unhooks unless you wanna lose you exhaustion perk for better part of a minute) If you want it to be useful in chase. then you just spaff it as soon as chase starts. Like there's no tactic to it, just bam, extra distance at start of chase, only time it really helps is if there are no resources close to you and it lets you reach a window or pallet.
Like I prefer using my exhaustion perks for getting extra distance midchase. Particularly chaining them off of the injury speed boost, i gain so much distance doing that a lot of killers will just drop chase after hitting me and then seeing me lithe through a window and absolutely haul ass across the map. Only time this can apply to sprint burst is if you're messing about with blood rush or anti haemorrhagic syringes.
