Punishments?

I have a question on why do we can't post screen shots of the player name if they are slandering people that play the game normally. People that hurl racial slurs after game and threaten others deserve the blast that's coming at them. While the report button is good, I feel like those people rarely get banned. Your actions should have consequences and the people that post your screen shots shouldn't be punished or taken down. Feels sort of like bullies continue to get their way to promote hate. Reason I say this is because I faced the same guy over the course of weeks after he hurled the N word repeatedly after each game. Wasn't ever banned and just feels like they always get their way.

Yeah I guess it can't get out of hand but man it feels bad to see nothing being done. I mean understand just ignore and report, but its almost like turning a blind eye.

Yeah I know the feeling. I have sent so much evidence to BHVR and they have done nothing and repeatedly told me that they won't take action. Imo just report them in-game and just move on. Who knows, maybe a christmas miracle will happen and the devs will actually do something.

It just feels like as a player base I'm getting more and more desensitized to all the hate to where it feels normal to be called names because we escaped, pallet killer, or camped ruined totem. Like how is this suppose to be normal? I understand outraged mobs, but shouldn't this be something we want to be outraged about? How is racial slurs not punishable because u flash lighted a killer. That person deserves to be called out for their actions because left unchecked it can get worse.

It's because It can be abused.

Im not gonna say the names but people who veterans know used to say things like "oh this dude camped me, everyone go to their profile and report him for harassment" leading to witch hunting.

It has to be like this, some people just wont be responsable enough

@cricketscorner but then what is the point of the report button if nothing gets done about it? some people will just think whats the point and these comments etc will continue...

@p00p3rz It's pretty much what @tt_ivi_99 stated as far as reasoning. The forums rule against posting names in screenshots and such (usually called Naming and Shaming) is a fairly common forum rule across game forums. Matter of fact, at some game forums, the first time you'd get a warning, the second time a ban. I've seen it happen.

And yeah, sometimes the in-game reporting doesn't result in the outcome we feel it should. Again, that's not uncommon in games. Hell, there are multiple people in Overwatch that I felt should have been banned, but weren't. Then again, there are some that were (Blizzard sends you a notice that action was taken against a reported account, not the specific action, but it isn't hard to figure out).

Ah, yes, automated messages. Steam sends me those as well. Nothing's done half the time.
