U need to change the max FPS in GameUserSettings.ini
Also, disable V-Sync in that file.

For clarity:
Hit Window+R and type "%appdata%" then hit Enter. Go to the file AppData/Local/DeadByDaylight/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor/GameUserSettings.ini, open it in Notepad, change values, voila.

Yeah follow this directory it's correct

Why do we need to manually disable VSync in the config menu?
Can we get banned by EAC for changing config settings though? I might do it for a bit more performance but not if I risk a ban.

Cuz the devs are to lazy, whatever justification they want to give I personally don't buy it. Straight up laziness imo.
The risk of a ban is nearly 0%.
Everyone does it since release and noone git banned for that. Also the location of that file and the file itself is not interesting for EAC, EAC is more interested about .pak files. Also, GameUserSettings.ini is constantly getting edited when you change something in the settings ingame. So EAC would have no clue who changes that file.
So you are pretty save doing it.

@HavelmomDaS1 So how do I do it?
Just now I tried to find the file but when it comes up, whether it's in Wordpad or Notepad, it's completely blank. How do I change the settings?

you'll have to right-click on GameUserSettings (don't open it) go down to Properties and make sure both Read-Only and Hidden boxes are unchecked. Then, you'll want to click apply, close everything and launch DBD. quit the game and go back to GameUserSettings and everything should be there. Also, the value you will need to change in GameUserSettings is called FrameRateLimit=200.000000 it's close to the bottom and located above DesiredScreenWidth=1280 and turn off bUseVSync=False That might fix your problem.
