This Is The Worst Community In Gaming
No matter if you are brand new or a veteran, you are either a camper, tunneler, or 'ez trash' who needs to 'uninstall and die'.
The language and attitude of a majority of the survivor base is absolutely horrid and despicable. I've never been told to kill myself, that I would be found and killed, that I am worthless trash, or that i am 'ez' as many times I have in the 4 weeks I've been playing this game. This community is worse than Smite, LoL, and WoT wrapped into one.
This is immature and shameful behavior.

@Slayer There's a difference between not minding something and ruining a facet of enjoyment.
We should be able to talk about the cool jukes, nice loops, nice grabs, etc. When I play against someone for awhile, I like to talk about the play. That isn't possible in this game.

I have been reporting, every game. I still run into the same people. I have not been able to find a record of anyone being banned on DBD for death threats. I do not think they ban players that.

They do, but the problem is that many people aren't reporting them due to "bans don't work" propaganda.

Yes, it's propaganda. You're forgetting the fact that BHVR, like every single company on Earth, does not publicly show ban records. Steam shows permanent game bans, but you have to actively look, and even they don't have a directory of banned players, nor do they list which games they were banned from, nor do they list why they were banned.

@Orion Understood, but a lot of people will make atleast 1 post complaining they've been banned or suspended. I have not seen that for this game. I see no evidence the mods take any action at all.

Then you just haven't been here when a ban wave goes out and people start bitching that they were banned. It has happened before and will happen again.

@MystiKasT You are absolutely correct. This is one of the absolute worst gaming communities I have encountered in all my years of online gaming. I mean, Overwatch and LoL have a reputation for toxicity. I've played Overwatch for three years, and the DbD community is worse by a New York mile.
I have match chat permanently closed. Damned shame that has to be done. Now, for the record, I don't get offended by them. I have a very thick skin. You have to in my career, anyway. But after a bit, it just detracts from the fun of playing DbD. It's like playing with a bunch of edgy children.
It's the same with these forums. This is likely my last post. I already said my farewells to a few people privately about an hour ago. This isn't a game forum. It's an Us vs Them cesspool of negativity and self-serving interests. If I was a mod or community manager for this forum, I'd be embarrassed to wear the title. And I've done forum moderation before. I wouldn't touch the position for these forums for any amount of pay.
Anyway, I'd keep match chat closed, delete the forum ULR from your memory or block it in Chrome, and just forget about interacting with anyone except friends you might SWF with. It's really the only sane way to try to enjoy DbD.

It's the same in every community, people say oh they don't ban or there's no postings of it etc. But if you can catch them the threads from banned players appear but are quickly removed since they don't discuss bans on any social media platform.
Also due to privacy rules/laws they can't disclose they punished x person you reported for being a dick. Just ignore them, report them and don't flame them back and let the devs play whack a jerk.

@Orion Aren't ban waves only for those players who go over the dc threshold? I thought that those players who heavily insult or cheat are getting banned when the community managers review the reports.

@Trikset - That doesn't solve the problem. That's ignoring the problem. People SHOULD make a stand about toxicity at this level.

@JawsIsTheNextKiller Imho the problem is bigger for those on console because you have to deactivate messages in general just because of one single video game.

I'm not sure. I do know that at least some bans come in waves, and that when one goes out, the people who were banned complain about it.

@MystiKasT I don´t want to be rude, but have ever conidered that it could be your playstyle?
I try to play in a way that everyone enjoys playing with me and I barely have salty survivor. More likely I have really well mannered and humorous persons having a short chat with me at the end of the game.
And playing as survivor I can relate. You don´t get salty for that long, healty game where the killer played fair and you just didn´t make it. You get salty when you get found and tunneled / camped to death.
I don´t know your playstyle, but maybe try to change it a bit and see if the problem stays. As I said, I have a lot of really positive experiences with this community! :)

Many people fail to be good at something in real life, and they do in a game too which explains their toxic behavior. Just take it with a pinch of salt

Locking this thread. The comments have been far from constructive or whatsoever. More arguments than anything else and this will just keep causing fights.
