The DbD Community is the most TOXIC one I've ever played with/against
There are a ton of jerks playing this game and you will encounter the very worst if they think you're bad. It just happens that I'm trying to play The Nurse. We surely know it's really freaking hard to play her good. In the early games I'm utter trash. You can tell when you see me. This doesn't mean I'm bad as a Killer, but Nurse is a whole nother level. Yet players need to become extremely toxic against my super infant nurse. EZ, You're trash, constant teabagging, etc are very common now. I don't get tilted by this, as I'm learning to play her and that's what I concentrate on. But really folks, you think you're so much better? You're not.
So instead of being super toxic against baby killers, you can tell when you see them, you should be respectful. But I guess this is something many of you never learned. Toxicity goes both ways and Survivor Mains wonder why Killer becomes extremely toxic. We Killer Main like to have fun too. That means chasing, hooking, break a gen/pallet and move to next Survivor. Yet you become super toxic, thanks to some streamers (e.g. the one who plays Claudette, the one who plays Nea, the one who plays bald Dwight) toxicity has become a normal thing.
Always remember guys, without us Killers you don't have a game. The more toxic you play, the less people will enjoy playing Killer and might stop playing that role altogether.
Think about this for once

One Question...

You can't generally end toxicity in any game. That's just how the competitive spirit for some work. It's nice to have matches where players don't trash talk and end it with a good ol 'gg', but that just may not happen sometimes. Essentially, you can either argue back with them and fuel their lust in getting you upset, or being the better man/woman and simply leave it be and don't respond to them and politely give them a 'gg'. It's not much, I know, trust me, but if Survivors don't get their anger-fueled Killer juice off of anyone, then they'll have to eventually just stop being rude and just play the game. You can also just report them and get rid of anyone who happens to harass you to the end-game report option or Steam/Microsoft/Sony's reporting system.
I hope you continue to play though and if you ever need anyone to talk to about these kinds of things, that's what a majority of the Killer mains in Off-Topic or the Killer sub-forum are here for in helping you out. :)

Wow, never knew we were toxic. I guess I ignored the 5,000 posts in the past about how evil we are to each other.
If you think this community is toxic, I guess you never played any old school PVP MMOs before. This is like tea time at Buckingham compared to how bad things were in the past.
Lastly, things are only toxic if you let them be toxic. Nothing people say or do in chat means anything. Its just words. Whatever they do in game, its just a game. Relax, breath, go outside and get some fresh air.

Which oldschool MMOs are as toxic as DBD? I've played quite some but have never seen so much hateful people on daily base in any game than DBD

I enjoy mining the Salt though. I think some of the biggest laughs I've gotten in this game is some salty rant at the end of the game.

Ever played WOW?
Horde boys are a cranky lot.

Trust me, play APB Reloaded. Or Dayz, then come back a changed man.

DbD and the Dark Souls community I find are the worst I've experienced. Overwatch was pretty foul too but there was enough good that it felt balanced out

WoW comes to mind. Shadowbane was horrid. Diablo 2 was beyond toxic. That's just 3 off the top of my head

OW is more toxic than this community the wonders of playing in GM on xbox in game chat :D. Some older games come to mind as being more toxic too WoW comes to mind.

WOT was just as bad. However you could avoid it better.

Wait a second... Did you just play Nurse at Crotus Prenn by any chance? Because I've just watched Tru3 and the people were toxic towards the nurse and dropped that typical "gg ez" after the game and the Nurse player said it was his first game as Nurse or something like that.

No ;) I play on PS4 But I got similar remarks

Someone hasn't played a First Person Shooter or League of Legends (or any MOBA for that matter),
DBD may have annoying teabaggers and junk but the community really is not that bad.

What I hate the most is players that think they're good, but aren't.
Like the ones that can't juke, can't loop, can't do anything the whole game, and then have the guts to teabagg you at the exit gates.
Like if you 360 me over and over or if you're a god tier looper, then sure go ahead and taunt me, teabagg all you want. Especially when they use all of the crutch perks with insta heals etc and say "ez" at the end. That tilts me the most.
But people doing this are doing it just to get a reaction out of you, they want to see you suffer, so the best thing to do is just be a better man and say gg and just leave.

I don't know. DbD also has a good bunch of people leaving salty messages on your profile. Even going so far to comment my screenshots with them. And I run people on a regular bases who obviously try to get you salty for their enjoyment. At least judging by what they write in the aftergame chat. Praising themselves there. When I just ignore and leave. DbD is really not that far away from those other games.

Dbd is the most toxic? Clearly the op has never played world of tanks, dota 2, league of legends, smite, etc. What I find most interesting is how some of the most toxic dbd streamers actually get chosen and supported not only by the viewers who claim to hate toxicity but the platforms themselves. So much so they even put toxic survivor, killer in their stream titles. They also get supported by twitch and by behvr themeselves. Some of the dbd streamers who not only have the largest viewer followings are also in that fog whisperer program & they are the most toxic players i've seen.

Well someone look like they never played a multiplayer FPS or a moba, DbD is pretty tame in comparaison

I've seen worse.
I've played games, admittedly with a player base that is probably a bit young, where the "dead chat" after every game is just limitless salt. If your team lose, your teammates will flame you. If you caused your enemies to lose, they flame you. If you won and even played a perfect game, chances are your own team (and they win if you win) will still call you trash.

Accept it; game is about slaughterings or being slaughtered....

This is not even the most toxic community out there right now, let alone ever. The DBD community is tame compared to the ones in Shadowbane, Darkfall or Diablo 2. Hell, even UO was more toxic than DBD is.
I am honestly tired of people shitting on this community. Yeah, we got our issues, and we can get very pissy at each other, killer vs survivor. Do not get me wrong, there are some major asses out there, but there are in any game. We are not perfect, but damn we are not even close to being the most toxic or even in the top 10.
Since you wanted to let me know you been gaming online for years, so have I. I been gaming online over 20 years, starting back in the days of MUDs.
Now I am getting off my soap box.

If you are trying to learn and don't want to deterred by negative comments, why don't you simply close the in-game chat box using the arrow buttons and keep it closed? Not trying to be rude, but why complain here when you have the ability to stop it already?

PS4/XBOX1 doesn't have game chat like PC has. Also toxicity is shown on the map. You can't remove that.
0 -
Shown on the map how? They point at you? Butt dance? If that's the case, then you need to change how you react. Nobody can make you angry in a game, only you. Grow some thick skin and don't let such trivial things bother you because you are giving them exactly what they want. Why do that?

They talk/act trash in a videogame because they're real life losers, with no feasible options to get out of their misery, ever.

I have thousands of hours in League of Legends and I thought that was my personal hell in terms of toxicity.
Nowadays I play LoL mostly to chill after some DBD games. That's how bad it is in my experience.
2 -
when play killer I only have fun if survs are toxic
0 -
I just recently had a game as a survivor vs a huntress.
Two of my teammates killed themselves on the first hook and afterwards the other survivor just camped the hatch and I was alone trying to do gens. I got 3 gens done, 2 to go, but with the huntress at my heels I went to the Nea to force to play something else than hatch queen.
For sure I went down, but so did the Nea. Then the huntress hooked her first, gave me a helicopter on her shoulders and let me take the hatch, because she understood, the Nea was just camping there.
After the match I gave the huntress a big thumbs up and a big thank you.
I do similar thing when I play killer and someone really did amazing and deserves a win or in 1v3/2 I help the survivors go to the next match with some fun.
Are there jerks in the game? On this world? Yes, 100%
But you decide for yourself if you want to be a jerk or make a difference.
There are some amazing players in DBD on both sides, some great community members and even great devs!
I really pit us, that we don't have a chance to interact more during a game and maximize the fun and enjoyment for all.
Sadly SWFs tend to he one-sided and exclude the killer of the fun and some perks enable toxic behavior and it is sad that those kind of perks still get interduced to DBD, especially so short after DS finally got adjusted after 2 years. It's like some person at BHVR are doing this on purpose (MoM).
