Is cross-play a possibility in the future?

I realize that this isn't (and shouldn't be) a top priority, but I hope to one day be able to play with my console buddies. I'm new to forums and I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place, but I'm hoping for an answer from a dev or community manager or something. Thanks.

I think with dedicated servers it could be a possibility, although it's not up to the devs, it's up to Sony, Microsoft, Steam and Nintendo

It kinda should be a priority It would definitely help with the long ass wait time for match making survivors have to deal with also I don’t see any negatives behind it this isn’t a game where it would be necessarily “unfair” if someone was playing with a keyboard and mouse vs a controller

@PhantomMask20763 You can pretty much write Sony out of the equation. They very, very rarely play ball on cross-platform. Hell, Hi-Rez tried for over a year, for example. It seems they only want a very large game like Fortnite or Rocket League (and likely those studios paid a very nice fee to Sony as well). I've yet to see them allow cross-play for a small or niche game.

Cross-play between PC, XBox, and Switch is entirely possible. That's already out there.

Thankfully, Sony will never agree to it, because the players will never agree to it. Sony did a poll a few years back, and more than 90% of those who responded said no. If you want to play with PS4 players, get a PS4.

Ok but ff14 has cross play from ps4 to PC . I don't see how Sony would care or even have control of Behaviors dedicated servers?

Is FF14 PvP like DbD? If so, does it require twitch movements? I can guarantee the answer to the latter question is no. There are a lot of reasons why Sony doesn’t allow it. To name just a few, security of the systems and network (especially use of the PSN store), integrity of the data (i.e. trophies), exploits, hacking, etc. Sony does not have any direct control over BHVR’s servers, but Sony can prevent you from using any network features.

Idk what "twitch movements" are but yea its pvp at times.

I’d say, personally, that it should be, but only between consoles. Only Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo consoles should be able to play DBD with each other.

PC will be better off excluded from the mix, as it is the platform with the most concurrent players (if I remembers correctly) and it’s on a whole other level to what can be done on consoles. We don’t want PC Nurse gods wrecking console players.

Yeah, sony can go get face camped and moried. My buddies play xbox, so thats where my concern lies.
