killers shouldnt be able to see if i’m SWF
This is literal crap. If they can do this then i should be able to see what killer it is and disconnect if i don’t like what i see. so dumb and i’m tired of waiting to get a lobby with a decently gud killer that won’t dc

Killers should have an option to not play against them if they don't want to.

You might have a leg to stand on if swf weren’t so damn powerful and turn dbd into a bully simulator.
Alas, they are and the bad apples spoil the bunch for killers just looking to have a nice game that doesn’t feel like Benny Hill is playing in the background.
Killers have every right to know they’re going up against a swf and to back out of the lobby if they wish. Play nice, maybe?

Sometimes I dodge SWF just so they have to spend more time waiting for a game.

I think you're conveniently ignoring the fact that some killers rely so much on the element of surprise that it'd render them useless on the earlier stages of the game.
I hope you're being naive and not dishonest when you make the absurd comparison between facing a coordinated SWF and not being able to see the killer's exact gameplan before the game even starts. I sure do.
5 -
Fair enough.
I just feel like this would make waiting times/dodging worse than what they are now.
3 -
Give me this but also option for survivor too
I'm sick of group SWF DCing and leave me death alone

The game isn't balanced around SWF much less rank 1, so in my eyes playing against a SWF is the equivalent of the killer using speed hacks. It's cheating in other words. The extra knowledge they gain from being in a SWF gives them more information in the game than 4 perks would so it is an unintended advantage. Do you want to play against a killer using speed hacks? Me neither.
I'm all for not letting killers dodge SWF, but only if the game gets balanced appropriately for SWF first. I doubt we'll ever see that happen though.

"SWF will never be removed"
I never said it would or even that it should.
"you’ll just have to counter it"
There is no counter to swf
"use ruin and git gud"
This is just a stupid comment. Ruin doesn't fix anything and this issue has absolutely nothing to do with "gitting gud". I'm sure you don't understand the issue as it's clear you havn't been playing this game for very long much less at a high rank, but telling people to just play the game even when the other side is essentially cheating and to just deal with it, isn't an intelligent answer.

They can't see if you're swf tho, they can only guess
9 -
Yeah I have no idea where this person got the idea we can tell who is swf and isn't. You could always click each individuals names and check friendslist but that takes ages. If they did add this in then holy jeebus this would be a nice QOL change.
7 -
But.. they can’t

My god. I just want DCing to stop overall it kills the fun during a match.
I just had 4 disconnects while I was playing Trapper. Trapper!
Regardless from one survivor main to another, I think it’s fair enough and I understand why a killer wouldn’t want to play against a team who has an advantage (voice chat).
3 -
My suggestion: Play killer against coordinated SWFs. Your view on things will change.
5 -
With the "bucket matchmaking" they actually can't, unless you or any of your SWF partners have your profile privacy settings set to any setting that leaves your friends list open to the public. Or if you make it obvious with matching names or suspicious by all being the same survivor with the same unusual cosmetic loadout or something.

So much hate in this thread...
It´s a valid point that if killers could see SWF most of them would just doge, that would make it literally unplayble for SWF.
Sure game isn´t balanced around SWF, but not all of them are highly coordinated groups. I regularly play in a SWF that just get smashed because most of us are casuals just enjoying an evening off in DBD.
2 -
I guess no one is taking him seriously 🤗
3 -
"Killers need to git gud" - Plays in SWF
"Ruin is a no incentive perk" - Probably runs MoM.
SWF is imbalanced as all hell,
I had guys farming people off hooks yesterday in SWF to abuse BT i couldn't get away from the hooks fast enough to avoid it, then went full flame mode after i killed one of them.
This kind of rubbish is the reason people use NoED.

Well you're gonna like dedicated servers.
Or maybe you'd get dodged even more since they won't be able to see that you're SWF, and they'll just assume you are.

Well they can if both you and your friend have public profiles, just change the settings to private. Generally speaking the killer will now not be 100% sure that you are SWF.
That being said: you cannot see what killer it is and they could (as it is) possibly know you are SWF, here's why:
1) Simply, if you can see the killer you can dodge, which is stupid and pointless, or use a build that totally counter a killer destroying the core design of the game.
2) SWF are more powerful, that's it. Nothing crazy. You can potentially see if a survivor is good or not just by looking at him (a basic claudette and a p3 pizza Dwight gives away a lot of informations: which one of them could be a serious threat?) That being said, the killer can already have an idea whether he's facing a good team or not. The possibility of knowing if someone is SWF should stay there, because now you have an important information: the survivors have an advantage in coordination and efficiency compared to normal teams. That doesn't mean the killer HAS to dodge. Baby killers already dodge with a p3 claudette with a flashlight or a legacy guy, but just cause they are still bad.
A normal killer will just use this information to regain advantage against survivors and be prepared to a game (ex. I often run fun builds just to try new perks but if the survivors are 4 man SWF I will probably put on Ruin or BBQ or whatever I need to win (not noed, noed is bad >:-[ hahaha)) It's a legit things to keep the game somewhat balanced. Nobody would like a game in which you can always see the killer and you destroy him with the right perks or dodge as soon as you see a nurse or a game in which the killer gets totally rekt by 4 extra sweaty SWF without him being at least prepared.
Quick edit / disclaimer: I'm not a killer main, I always play SWF haha :)

Killers can't see it anymore, all survivors are joining simultaneously,no matter swf or solo

@HavelmomDaS1 They actually aren't. I regularly get two loading in together, three loading in together, all four, and just as often all four loading in individually 4-5 seconds (or more) apart.
Just the other night, I had matches that either went: all four at once, two (time passes) two more, and it taking close to 20-30 seconds to get all four to enter my lobby one at a time.
That's the intent with the "new" matchmaker, but that seems to have stopped working when they reverted back to the "old" matchmaker at the end of March.
0 -
But it happens really rarely, at least for me. And I think with dedicated servers it's gonna be not happening anymore.
0 -
By saying "git gud" you have voided your entire argument about balance and rendered all previous posts in this thread null. Good day, sir.
5 -
Why not both?
Current Meta is MoM, Adrenaline, Dead Hard/Balanced Landing with DS/BT
Full SWF team all running second chance perks, herein lies the problem.
Now YOUR particular SWF might not be set up like this, but alot are and no killer wants to take those games.
Except Nurse mains....

correct, they should just remove SWF from the game. the game was never balanced for this and it's just an auto win for the survivors. you literally shouldn't even get found by the killer if you are in a SWF group and if you are you might want to re-think playing video games, you're obviously not very good at it.
0 -
@HavelmomDaS1 Well, it doesn't happen rarely for me. I'm still able to tell who is a SWF since the matchmaker revert, and game play inside the match confirms it a majority of the time.
Yes, with dedicated servers, that will go away in the lobby. But as it stands right now, if I misread a lobby and face a genrushing SWF (which most are, or try to be), I just let them have at it. They can rush the gens and the gate and leave. I won't chase or hit anymore once I realize they're genrushing. That means no more chase, heals, or unhook BP and emblems for them, which usually means a de-pip.
On to the next match, and maybe a better one. I don't care about pipping, so no skin off my nose. And the same will be true with dedicated servers. I'm not going to waste my time with those teams if that's how they want to play, when a lot of the new emblem system actually works against genrushing if you want to pip or get decent BP.

Also OP want nerf Ruin:Hex but not accepting gitgud to find hex totem and cleanse
Really make you think he's one of toxic sfw who group ragequit because one of his "friend" dead or DC and ruining both solo survivor and killer

That's great that your swf isn't particularly good at making use of the mass advantage given to you, but on pc that is completely the opposite. SWF groups at all ranks are more trouble than they are worth most of the time. You can't really base the scope of the problem on your own experiences. This has years of data to show that SWF are a major balance issue for the game. Removing it isn't the answer, but something has to be done. SWF is even shown to be bad for survivors as they prioritize their actual teammate over any solo survivors. Killers and survivors both should be able to choose to opt out of playing with premades.

It took a handful of bully games for me to say 'screw it' and start dodging swf groups... It is just not worth it. I understand not all swf are like that, but unfortunately their are too many jerks out there.
I mainly play survivor but now that I have walked in the shoes of the killer I am more understanding when my group gets dodged.
As for seeing the killer that would take away the element of surprise and greatly increase the wait times for games.
1 -
But why not taking the opportunity to practise? Or at least getting full BBQ&C stacks? You could camp someone aswell (I don't promote it but it's better than doing nothing).
Btw, you main myers?

Oh, the baby want an option to see the killer and decide with their little friends if they want to play against he.
Thats cute, little one.
1 -
No.

At least give killers a BP bonus for playing against what is often a bully simulator. Give some sort of incentive for playing the game on the equivalent of the highest difficulty setting. That's just common sense to me.
0 -
I always check their Steam profiles to see if they are friends or not :-)
That way I know which ones are talking to each other and plan accordingly
0 -
Yeah but sometime they private their profile so you can't tell if they're SWF sometime
0 -
2-4 people with private profiles? Usually a good SWF indicator as well.
0 -
I'm a survivor main but when I play killer I dodge the lobby when it's a Swf. With my job I don't have much time to play video games, and I only play killer for blood points. So I really don't want to play against a team of potential ochido wannabes (I know not all Swf teams are strong, I made a post about it).
2 -
Then don’t SWF n play solo n GIT GUD.
