Are portrait and icon Mods a Bannable Offense?
I couldn't resist The Sky Pack posted by Geistra (Not sure if a Link is allowed).
Anyway I'm just generally curious (and worried) if mod packs that only change icons and portraits are worthy of ban?

@CallMeBacon No, as long as you only mess with the image files for perks and items and stuff, you're fine.
If you edit ANYTHING ELSE that might be seen as trying to get an unfair advantage then you have a good chance of being banned

it is not.
however, since there is a auto ban system, you might accidentally get banned by it.
and since you messed around with the game files, the devs wont unban you.
so no, the devs dont ban for it, but the game might. i havent heard of it happening yet though...

Until I see a Dev response that they have worked with EAC about exclusionary files...I won't risk it. That's just me though.
Although not "looked for" by EAC for close to 2 years now, one stealth update and 3 months later you're hit with a retro....it happens.

Then you can stop waiting cuz they probably won't do it. I and many others asked for that or to give us steam workshop as save alternative but they have no interest.
Not want to convince you, but keep in mind that the UI folder is not interesting for EAC, they care more about .pak files

Am i the only one that doesn't like it?
And as everyone pointed out above - you can be that one unlucky person that gets banned for it after some time

There are many different icon packs, you can do your own aswell. It's quite easy if you have some skills with designing programs.
Well, icon changing was a thing pretty much since release. I'm not aware of a single ban because of that and I investigated a ton of forums about that topic.
Maybe @Peanits is allowed to share the total numbers of bans caused by UI mods, my guess is 0 tho

What exactly u mean now? Designing programs or the default icons? U can find the default icons in the DbD folders.
I personally used Paint.Net to create my own stuff, I made all perks ultra rare like when ultra rare was exciting in 2016 cuz I loved that stuff.
The first icons took me a bit but after figuring it out I made them extremely quick.

I have been using custom character portraits for several months and no problems have arose. So, nothing to fear.
I like this one pack from someone who makes hand-drawn icons of each character. They are really well made in a cartoonish style.

@HavelmomDaS1 I know you can find the main perk icon overlay that's backgroundless, I would make my own but I've been finding it hard to find the colour squares of the different colours (brown --> iridescent).
I know of like three packs, one that makes all perks normal irl colours, one that just turns them all iridescent, and one that just makes all icons really neon and flashy, but they aren't my style.

U can find the old icon backgrounds on the DbD wiki of @DocOctober maybe he will update them with the thin bars.

No, I don't have that Template and even if I had, there's no way in hell I'm updating several hundred icons.

I think you misunderstood what I mean, it's just 6 icons of blank perk backgrounds like here above
https://deadbydaylight-de.gamepedia.com/Perks
On the top there is this animated thingy changing the colours. That guy wants those templates if I understood correctly.

If it was bannable I don't think that a big dbd streamer would do it so openly.
