Make boil over increase wiggle time
Why are devs so scare from this?
Killers have agitation, mad grit and iron grasp, I dont see a problem, and most hook are close..

The main problem with giving Boil Over increased wiggle speed/less time to wiggle out back then was DS. Now, DS is out of the way. But now we have Flip Flop.
So, basically, Ash is the reason Boil Over probably wont be buffed.

Because if you make wiggling take longer, it will make Boil Over a bad perk.
In all seriousness, assuming that was a mistake, Boil Over already decreases wiggle time, technically, by forcing killers to bump into objects along the way.

Ash perk is so situational, and why does the killer slug the guy?, he should hook him how is supossed to be.

To be honest wiggle perks are just genuinely a bad idea, unless they updated the entire wiggle mechanic. If you wiggle faster, you get a full SWF team running the perk taking hits so you never hook anyone. It why sabo is such a risky thing to put in the game. Maybe instead they could just make it so the perk punishes the killer in an unrelated way, like making the killer hindered after hooked you
1 -
Applying the same logic, why should Boil Over decrease wiggle out time if Flip Flop does the same thing? And if they did the same, and you are calling Flip Flop situational, wouldnt that make Boil Over situational as well?
1 -
In a open field map that doesn't care, and is really easy to control the killer movement..
And btw killers hook vacuum make the perk usseles.

Killers have mad grit, so bodyblocking swf it's not going to be a problem.
Or just use iron grasp, it's a perk that can appear in any bloodweb

Doesn’t work against good killers. I use boil over to get me to the hook faster, the survival struggle sway helps get me there sooner as I move in tangent with the struggle itself.

Iron Grasp doesn't even add two seconds of wiggle time. It's worthless.
1 -
Flip flop is just a counter (a lil bit) for slugging, and back to the same, why the killer slug people if he is supossed to hook them?
Boil over increases your wiggle time and flip flop just fill your bar.
Why does iron grasp decreases the wiggle time?

At first i believe it wasn't made this way because of old DS mechanics, but now i don't think it will happen because flip flop exists.

What about agitation?
And can you please give me a proof?
0 -
So if devs dont buff those perk it's another 2 perks to usseles list.

The proof is in the numbers. It increases time to wiggle out by 12%. Do the math, what's 12% of 16 seconds?
Agitation increases movement speed by 18%. This would give you about 10 more meters of travel distance.

"Your powerful hold onto the Survivors causes escapes to be nearly impossible.
Effects of Survivor struggling are reduced by 75 %.
Time to struggle out of your grasp is increased by 4/8/12 %."
"Effects of Survivor struggling are reduced by 75% "
Can you please tell me what does that mean?

It means you won't sway as much left and right while the survivors try to wiggle out. It's the opposite of what Boil Over does.

So it counters boil over effect?

I thought that Flip flop was introduced to make a combo (Tenacity, Flip Flop, Boil Over) similar to how the other combo for Kate's perks (Dance With Me, Quick and Quiet/Windows, Lithe) works. Was I wrong in thinking that?
1 -
Honestly, I don't know. I don't know how the devs programmed it. It could counter it completely, or it could just diminish it slightly.
0 -
Yeah I think so, but that combo doesn't help that much..
0 -
Well thanks for the information anyways

According to OP, that can be avoided anyway, so it's not really relevant.

flip flop wont work so much since killer can pick you up directly so fast that you dont have time to wiggle now i know that ppl will say wiggle dosent mean free escape its to escape from the basement but the thing is that hooks are way too close it should be more far away
0 -
Even so, it's impossible to quantify and therefore irrelevant for this discussion.

I agree, sometimes that killer stuck can save your life.

Instead of increasing wiggle speed,i would rather see the hook aura blindness get increased. 14 meters is too short for a tier 3 perk

the problem with survivor perks about being downed, hooked or wiggling out is that you're usually better off getting perks that prevent you from being in any of those situations in the first place.
Even when you have them, half of those perks are completely situational and dont even end up being used or working successfully

Yup.

Boil Over could use a buff. It hardly makes a difference, it seems, and I've been running it ever since I got Kate. I hate having to pair it with something like Flip Flop just to make it effective, and only in the specific example of getting carried by the killer. Any of the killer's carry perks will negate Boil Over. I don't think it needs a Wiggle reduction but removing hook auras further or totally would be great. It's not like they can't use the hooks, they just won't see them as easily.

Does wiggling even work? Usually a killer has enough time to bypass two hooks to hook you on the third hook before the wiggle bar is near complete
0 -
Wiggling is not supposed to guarantee you escape. It's there to prevent the killer from going into the basement 100% of the time. If you think wiggling is pointless, then stop wiggling. Killers everywhere will thank you for it.

Why the angst?

In times of Flip Flop... I totally agree the increased wiggle speed. Maybe it should work conversely to Flip Flop. So if you get downed, you didnt recover and the killer grabs you very fast or instandly, the wiggle bar is wiggeling 5 seconds faster or sth. And the more the killer left you on the ground and the more you recovered the less bonus time you will get, maybe 0.5-1 second or at least nothing because there was enough time to recover and getting safed.
But yea, Boil over shouldnt stack with Flip Flop you know. This could end up in an instand grasp escape. And I know players always wants broken ######### to have fun, but... dbd's most broken times are over and if you were not there it's sad for you. There are still broken things, slightly broken which is typically for dbd so enjoy them. I will not tell you what this is :D Dont wanna guide anyone being toxic af

My idea for boil over its similar empathy of hook aura and make that the killer speed reduce while hes carrying a survivor

Wiggling free is not supposed to be a thing that happens often. Mostly it's there to stop the killer from just carrying you all the way to the basement or wherever and for however long.
The problem with buffing wiggling perks is that if you make them too strong you start to give even more second chances in the game which there's already plenty of.
2 -
Exactly this. Boil over can't become another 2nd chance perk.
