Yes It's technically a surprise but really It's just a cosmetic reveal for the next patch before someone can leak them like usual, we got ourselves hyped up thinking it was something bigger.
I wish they'd have just called it a cosmetic reveal rather than surprise and "something we've never seen before" that made it seem bigger than it was.

If you tell us about licensed cosmetics, then it would be a surprise for real... but a bunch of cosmetics that would have been datamined tomorrow... you say what you want, but for my that´s not a surpise. My prsonal oppinion of course... it´s an improvisation. But hey, it´s ok!

@Bongbingbing Yup. Everyone got super hyped so that the surprise didn't live up to people's expectations. But hey, double BP early May, that's really a nice surprise. :)

But... this was planned before the release of the SURPRISE, or was an improvisation to calm the waters?!... don´t be fooled, they are professionals and we are their customers, so I think we can say when a thing doesn´t like us... and this was not the surprise that "we have never seen before". No offence here, I´m respectful.

@not_Queen It's just that "surprise" made it sound like it was something big. Cosmetics aren't exactly newsworthy, even if they are pretty cool. I don't think it's your fault, though, we all got a little caught up in our own hype.

I second your oppinion!. We had the expectations so much high, but hey, on the other hand, that´s a signal that we all love this game a lot and we have great expectations (that expectations includes licensed cosmetics of course amongst other things, you have to understand it)

Showcasing something that would have been leaked by tomorrow anyways, that isn't anything new and must be unlocked with money or shards is NOT what people expect when you make a big announcement calling it a surprise.
Once again, you (as in you BHVR, not just you not_Queen) have only yourselves to blame for the negative or underwhelmed reactions. This really isn't rocket-science.

@DocOctober wozzers.. You missed the whole point of the surprise.. the surprise was the new mechanics of letting everyone know about new cosmetics... not the cosmetics themselves...

If the cosmetics were a bit more affordable, that would help. If I could get the Legion outfit for lets say... 6 dollars? I'd buy it. And I'd buy another one too probably.
10.00 bucks for a digital cosmetic outfit isn't my cup of tea at all. I haven't bought the last 2 DLCS to be honest. I've sharded them, I did buy everything before though.
The price point for the cosmetics kills me. The millennials are paying it apparently... so...

Rework the shard/devotion system. It's very broken and boring. 51-100 gives you 300 shards each? That's lame.
There's no reward for hitting a new devotion. I mean doesn't the devotion to the game mean something? I'm like devotion 4 or something now.
Something is missing from this game. It's depth, events and rewards.

Not going to lie, I actually liked the surprise. I'm a huge fan of cosmetics, especially when there's any sort of mix and match. I mean, what's the point in murdering everyone/getting out alive if you can't look stylish while doing it? It's also nice to get an official look at the skins with super nice renders rather than digging through for tiny thumbnails.
Honestly I just hope that some of the new cosmetics have Shard variants. I'd love to be able to grind out a Red version of the new Legion attire, or just flat out grind the Clown's new outfit.

That's your opinion though and judging from other posts on here not shared by all, while we can all agree we'd have liked to have been surprised by different thing. It doesn't change the fact that some did like the surprise even while those like you didn't.
Perhaps with the BP event next month something else is going to be announced as well to coincide with it and be worthy of a surprise in yours and others eyes.

I understand that the ones revealed today are for after mid chapter but what are the chances of getting one of the previously leaked cosmetic sets tomorrow despite having just gotten the easter set?

I had no expectations. I simply don't accept cosmetics as a valid surprise if the premise is that it's something we haven't seen before. We maybe haven't seen these specific cosmetics, but we definitely have seen cosmetics. It's also just an attempt to jump the gun on data miners, not to do the community a favour.

at least we got chapter 12 confirmation... i tought since it's a lot to work on repairing the game, dedicated servers, matchmaking, end game collapse, etc, they will pass launching a chapter ... but yay :)) shut up and take my money BHVR . again

Agreed all they had to say was "SNEAK PEEK" of goodies! Or something, instead surprise makes it seem like it's a chjapter reveal or new interactive game content
