An idea to help balance second chance perks
I was thinking it would be helpful if there was something like exhaustion for major second chance perks such as Borrowed Time, Man of Mettle, and Decisive Strike. Exhaustion won't let you use perks like Balanced Landing and Sprint Burst in an effective manner, so let's build on that idea.
What if when you used Decisive Strike, trigged Borrowed Time, or got the free hit from Man of Mettle; you get made the obsession, get the Deep Wounds debuff, and get another debuff that doesn't allow you to benefit from any of the other similar perks while you're the obsession? If you start the match as the obsession, you can still get the benefits, but not if you're made the obession because of one of the perks.

I dont think this is the way to go... forcing you to play in a way that you dont like is not gonna help at all.
We need either new objectives or buff all killers to Billy tier, this way survivors could keep using whatever build they'd want and killers wouldnt be at such disadvantage because they would have more time to accomplish their objective. + we would see more variety, something this game desperately needs.

Why Borrowed Time? It doesn't even apply to the user, and is one of the best ways to ever stop camping.
Oh, and the fact that you can't be healthy when used METTLE OF MAN, or else the killer will always see your aura unless you're downed. I think that is a fair trade.

I get that MoM is annoying but it's really not that bad. It very rarely makes a difference between in the end.

If you've lost 100 kills to mettle of man then I'm afraid to say you might just suck at killer my dude. Try Sloppy Butcher or NOED if you're struggling to get kills.

How does Wraith suffer any more than say Spirit or Hag? Like I said, use perks that counteract it's benefits.

1 hit is far FAR easier to get as Spirit or Hag compared to with Wraith.

So you basically want to have killers be forced to run any of the exposed perks such as NOED to counter MoM? A perk that is just way to effective at extending the chases if you lack the perks? Some of mentioned perks are locked behind DLC you have to buy or wait for the shrine to get?
How is that fair? Please Do explain your point of view on MoM is not so bad.

If one hit changes the tide of the game that much, you were doing poorly already. The big perk I recommend is Sloppy Butcher to extend healing time and effectively remove any extra time MoM got. If you find it's making chases THAT much longer, either learn when to break chase and tend to generators, or run perks to help in chases such as Enduring or Brutal Strength. And yeah, worst case scenario, try NOED.

Enduring, Brutal Strength doesnt help. Not chasing survivors doesnt counter MoM.
Just like not doing generators doesnt counter noed. This perk is a guaranteed time waster and that is a problem at high ranks. Same problem as old DS

I'm not saying don't chase survivors. I'm saying be smart about committing to a chase that could lose you the game. No it doesn't have a direct complete counter. But it's a time waster and killers have time wasters at their disposal too. MoM requires the survivor to properly ration out the hits they take and spend time healing to be able to take more.

Tl;dr MoM is broken when stacked, not alone, just like old DS.
Just fix how powerful it is when stacked and then everyone will stop whining about it.

MoM requires nothing, no brain. You can literally be afk and activate it. Atleast DS had a skillcheck and could get dribbled.
You mean like every chase against good players? Because they all have the potential to win the game. Having MoM is literally just a free healthstate. You cant play it smart as a killer.... because it is just a free tanked hit. Tell me how to play it smart against potential MoM

@ClogWench It's easy to get hit that much, you can bodyblock and all that jazz, wich is what SWF do because since they are coordinated they heal effectively, hell you don't even need a SWF to do that, just need to be at least average at the game.
BTW you keep mentionning sloppy, but it doesn't work against mom so idk why you keep mentionning it, besides, i shouldn't have to use a perk to make bad design less awful.

Basic chase strategies apply in the same way my dude. Take advantage of healing times to draw out the game. A good killer can route a survivor in a chase, and if they're in a position where they can't, they leave to patrol gens and slow progress. And hey if you really suck at killer and can't end chases without being run around for 5 minutes, try just insidious camping around a corner from where they're hooked. I'm so sick of killer mains that just don't know how to do their job and complain about stuff like this which only takes focus away from actual problems killers face.

How does it not work? You gotta heal if you're gonna take another hit, unless you plan on going down twice. Sloppy extends the time it takes to heal.

Making healing times longer doesn't stop MoM for activating or gaining "stacks" so i don't see how sloppy counters it in any way.

Once again missing my point. If you're getting looped extensively, either go patrol gens because you're actively letting the survivor waste your time, or learn how to route. It's not hard

Breaking a chase admitingly can help out a little, but that doesn't hold up if other survivors are running MoM. Thougha dmitingly, thats only with sweat tryhard SFW that quit as soon as they are down.
And again, MoM has no real counter outside of exposed perks. Sloppy + Thanta can only do so much to slow it down, but your still essentially being forced to run certain perks to counter this one specific perk that a lot of survivors are running because its apparently in the meta now.

The problem is that MoM wastes time for the killer. The user of MoM is required to heal several health states before it can benefit them. Sloppy butcher slows that down, thus wasting more time for the survivor. Both sides have time wasted, effectively cancelling eachother out. Simple enough for you?

The problem still persists with MoM. A good looper, who already takes too much time to catch, can equip MoM and increase the length of one chase by ~50%. If you regularly play highranked killer, you know that this perk basically becomes "equip 4x to win"

Sweaty tryhard SWFs are always a problem. They can exploit MoM, sure, but that's more the fault of the system than the perk. As for running sloppy to counter it, Sloppy is already a really solid perk to begin with so you're not sacrificing a lot for a niche perk. MoM is strong, and if DS was still how it once was then it'd absolutely be OP but that's just not the case. If every survivor perk had non-perk complete counterplay, every perk would be useless.

But longer healing doesn't stop it from activating, hence what i meant by the perk not actually countering it, besides healing is so quick in this game that even sloppy won't do much, maybe if you soloqueue but at this point you should be using a medkit.
Once again, the perk itself is fine, it's only an issue when it's stacked 3/4 times and in SWF plays.
Anyway i'm done here, have fun.

They've made healing take longer, enough so that survivors started adapting a no heal meta. Hardly sounds fast to me. And it adds up when every survivor has to heal 2 or 3 times. But whatever, I haven't had any issue with this perk outside of minor annoyance so frankly whatever they do with it doesn't affect me

Also, you keep saying that you need to heal in order to use MoM. Where are you getting that 100% innaccurate information? Sure, healing one single time allows you to use MoM at its most effective. But you absolutely do not need to heal in order to use MoM.
