Chest changes that could happen

Could make luck effect chests - in that with increased luck increased chest chances and chances for maybe an extra chest or two outside of offerings.
Make there be items in chests that survivors can't get elsewhere Ie as a somewhat broken example - running shoes, have a limited amount of use that regenerates when not running, however when running increases run speed slightly (5%?) So items that can only be found in chests that are ultra powerful yet can be lost upon death (or dc) and motivate people to loot chests more
Make opening chests longer or harder. You heard me longer! Even as a survivor main I consider opening a chests time as too short, it doesn't do much on the killer side in terms of wasting survivors time. I wouldn't say add skillchecks but perhaps having locked chests in a match isin't too much to ask for? Would give another purpose towards keys and give the ability for ultra rare items to be found. Ie for example a top tier purple flashlight or other powerful items.
Add the ability for trapper and pig (with an ultra rare addon) be able to injure or perhaps even outright kill (if the survivor is on there last hook state or within the endgame) a survivor for being greedy it

I'm all for natural chest-traps, but not killing you if you're already injured. That would be far too powerful.

Trapping chests is fine. I don't want the times increased.
That would just encourage survivors to just bring in items so they don't waste time and do gens.

True, but the lure of incredibly powerful items will kept them off gens, along with keeping them potentially in end game. i mean if you could get a pink mori midgame and keep it as an example, you'd want to go for it even if it means letting others complete objectives. because it means that potentially your next few matches could be a lot easier or more fun etc
not if there already injured i agree, i said if there on their last hook state and injured, and they start going through chests that the chest instead of just injuring them (since theoretically they've pretty much been beaten black and blue by the killer and the entity) it just kills them and maybe hell even just eats the player. if your on your last hook state you shouldn't exactly be worrying about getting items anyways :P
still thats kind of a shoddy chest trap idea and discourages opening them. if there was a chest trap addon that activated upon amanda or trapper hitting a trap which instantly put a survivor in the dying state upon opening (that was a rare and could only be used once) i think that would be somewhat fair

I just want more base chest spawns, so I get a chance to use builds in case I decide to be responsible and do a ruin gen while everyone runs around like chicken, stealing all the chests even while having an item of their own lol
