Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Devs and the store

All the new cosmetics are purple, super expensive. I understand some of them are pretty cool like the urban outfits but cosmetics like the ones Adam had where his hair is exactly the same but slightly taller... or the new hag one. cmon...

Green and yellow cosmetics don't exist anymore aside from the ones already in the store. You have cosmetic tiers for a reason. I understand that they take work but they are not all purple worth.

They used to release yellow cosmetics that were cool but simple, that's why they were yellow like the sci fi feng or meg's snow clothes but now yellow tier clothes are just recolors.

"you can obtain 80% of the cosmetics by grinding":

-1, the grinding is nowhere near enough for cosmetics/characters/perks especially if all the clothes that get released are 21k shards.

-2, now only about 40% of the cosmetics can be obtained with shards

I know, i know they have to make money. This isn't a rant just feedback but everytime I see leaked cosmetics I kinda get disapointed because I already know I won't be able to get them: either have to grind to buy one piece thats the same price of a killer or 10 dollars for an outfit.

:/

I get the impression that they aren't making as much money from the store and DLC's as they had hoped seeing as both can be acquired for the most part through play time. It seems they are trying to find a way to make more money.

I personally think a big reason they aren't making as much is because a lot of people (myself included) don't want to financially support them until they actually start balancing the game properly. Nothing else seems to work, so maybe speaking with our wallets will. Money isn't an issue for me at all and I like to financially support the games I play even when I could use in game currency, but I and many others just don't want to do that until we see actual good changes for the games health.

TLDR: They need more money coming in and those changes you mentioned are just one way they are looking to do that. Based on the survey it seems they're looking at a couple others as well.

I bought this Jeff pair of pants without realizing the pants are literally the same pair of pants as the base pants you get when buying him but lighter, bull sh- I mean darn it, I have this Jeff in jean pants and jean jacket with the short brown hair and dark beard trim.

    I do agree with you.

Look at the latest spirit skin, it was a green rarity and had 3 varients, and lately devs seems to be more focused in selling auric cells, and I can respect that, but it feels wrong having all new skins in the most expensive category and not have an uglier shard option

@Sairek This is why I am constantly trashtalking the store, calling cosmetics "fodder" and calling people who get excited for new cosmetics "cattle".

The game's in shambles and currently (and since a long while back) it has been a game I'd NEVER recommend to anyone. I rather see Behavior lay off some cosmetics people and get their hands on more developers or QA personnel so they can fix their game.

Them, without a care in the world, adding even more cosmetics (that's also so ######### overpriced its ridiculous) to the store.. it gives me a bad taste in my mouth.

If the game was really in shambles and you don't recommend it to anyone you wouldn't have over a thousand posts on the forums much less play it.

Oh yes, how dare BHVR add EVEN MORE cosmetics that people want to the game "without a care in the world".

The developers ARE trying to balance the game. Maybe you're new or something? This game is far, far more balanced than it has been in the past. That said, it is the nature of an asynchronous game that it isn't going to be "balanced." What is balance in a game like this? Where you win every time? Or where every situation is the exact same so you never have to switch up your methods? In my games there is a fair distribution of wins and losses and even those are never cut and dry and I believe that's balance.

Instead of whining about balance we should focus on actual issues, namely the rates of DCs and three man lobbies, things that actually can mess up the experience.

Truer words have rarely been spoken on this forum. Balancing/fixing lobbies/bugs for me.

Maybe you're new to the game and havn't realized how bad the balance actually is. I've been playing since release with 3,400 hours and rank 1 on both sides on every reset.

"The developers ARE trying to balance the game"

Around low ranks, which is where the issue lies.

"In my games there is a fair distribution of wins and losses and even those are never cut and dry and I believe that's balance."

The difference is being able to actually realize why you won or lost. Most of the time you are winning at rank 1 is because the survivors were playing like potatoes. Both sides played well you are losing every time bar exceptions like nurse, ultra rares, etc. Maybe you're just playing at low ranks though and this just explains your results in itself.

"Instead of whining about balance we should focus on actual issues, namely the rates of DCs and three man lobbies, things that actually can mess up the experience."

No one is whining. We are posting actual issues with the game. DC's are already being addressed come dedicated servers and 3 man lobbies have already been fixed if you read patch notes.

Millennials are buying the stuff apparently... so the price point will stick.

I'm not ever ever ever going to pay 10 bucks for a cosmetic. No way in hell. They should have 1/2 off sales every so often... OR... have Shard events at least, or rework the poorly designed Devotion/player level stuff over.

Getting 300 shards per level is great. Not from 51 to 100 though. That's just poor design and lazy.

They need to overhaul the daily ritual system to offer shards as a reward and expand on challenges and add wagers

I don't know about you, but I definitely prefer having the option to nab both the survivor and killer for Iridescent Shards, rather then having to fork out $9.95 AUD for it.

So I really don't mind all these expensive cosmetic options. Most of them are for characters I don't play anyway, so whenever they do release items for my main (Jake), I am able to nab them with Shards.
