Rapidfire flashlight
I just encountered a team doing it, everyone of them. What's this? Is it useful? Useless? Gimmick? Exploit?

Basically, yea. Its just to taunt you into chasing them. I actively ignore survivors trying to get my attention. The more time they waste clicking flashlights at me while I get someone else, the less time they're on gens

Ignore them. Sometimes they get so desperate to get your attention, that they give you free hits.

It used to either cause the game to crash, or you to DC, but that was fixed a long time ago. As the others have said, they may he trying to get your attention to waste your time. Don’t play their game, play your own. If there is more than one nearby, hit them both, and then go after the weaker one.
I just had such a game, where they also liked to body block me, thinking that I didn’t know what they were doing. I’d just hit them until they were all wounded, and pick one to down. They got 2 gens done, but I got 31,900 points with the 4K. Just missed the perfect game by one hook. :(

They actively tried to blind me with it. Like regular people, only flashing 30 times per second.

It's that rapid fire click noise. It's a macro I believe.
It used to disconnect killers from games.

They are trying to piss you off, if you ignore them you can mindgame them by in the middle of the chase, either listen for secondary footsteps or just act like you don't know they are there and depend on luck, simply turn around and swing, you will hit them and piss them off!

They are checking if the flashlight works, you could help them figure It out with Franklin's Demise, that perk actually fixes the problem. Whenever they pick the item back up it'll be ok, they never flashlight spam after that :)

If survivors do this, I remember it. When it comes to hooky time...face campery ahoy!

- Hold down RMB and point the bright end at their face and they'll be stunned so you can escape.
- Tapping RMB does nothing and will get you hooked.
I know which I'd be doing.
