Killers tunneling demonstrates their insecurities

People complain and tunneling/camping but the fact of the matter is only the noobs resort to this stuff. People with no skill need to tunnel/camp In order to feel good about themselves, and it is obvious that this gives killer mains a bad rep. Not everyone camps/tunnels, only the stupid. I'm sick of hearing survivor mains say that all killers do these tactics, when the actuality is that it is only the minority that resort to scummy tactics.

Camping is for people who don't understand the mechanics or are going up against survivors who don't.

Tunneling is just exactly what you would expect someone who is trying their best to do. Or in otherwords it is more likely for a vet to tunnel compared to a non-vet

Exactly. As long as it's not costing too much time then it seems rather stupid to not go after the weaker prey. If a killer is targeting you, try to use one of your friends to bait him into a different chase. If the survivors work as a team it can counter almost anything the killer does.

this is why I hunt down farmers and make them pay as killer nobody has to conform to my playstyle by any means but I find it more enjoyable to give people a dose of karma by making sure the farmers die it is more tactical to kill the one who just got unhooked but I find it more enjoyable to carry out revenge.

This is what I do as well. If I come back after an unsafe unhook I'll hit the rescued survivor first to deny the rescuer emblem points. I then hunt down the farmer. I let the other person get up and have a chance to play. It may not be the "optimal play" but I hate being tunneled and camped as a survivor and I refuse to do it as a killer.

No, I tunnel if I only see the unhooked survivor, if I see both, the closest one gets the chase. It's as simple as that.

People wonder why killers tunnel but they also go for the unhook 10 seconds after the killer leaves. Like... What is the killer supposed to do? Let you both leave? Unless the killer is in a chase already I don't see a reason for the killer to not come back to the hook.

I always leave the hook to give my Survivors a fair chance at escaping, and if by chance I'm near by when a rescue occurs I'll only ever go after the rescuer because its the sportsmanlike thing to do.

All of that makes me feel good about my behavior during the game.

Anything else just feels scummy and makes me feel bad.

While i belive its true that good killers dont need to rely on such tactics, bad or mediocre killers like myself do. And since they are paired against high skilled survivors due to the swf pairing, they need to do something to keep up.

Also, there is a corolation. In games where i don´t tunnel or camp, i get teabagged and insulted later in the game. In the game i tunnel and camp, they don´t do that, because my chances of getting them all are much higher. And since a lot of survivors just behave rude (insulting killer in the after game lobby even if you didnt camp or tunnel), i dont feel responsible for their fun or a fair envoirement for their game anymore.

I'm a Survivor main but I've been getting into a lot more Killer recently. I don't think camping is especially fun if you have no reason to be doing it but tunneling isn't a terrible strategy in most situations because one less Survivor to deal with is a significant hit to generator progression which will help you win in the long run.

Is it scummy? Sure. It's still viable and smart in some circumstances.

I tunnel and I'm very good at the game, I don't buy your statement.

Or either, they camp to get salt, or reactions like this thread here.

Scummy or not, sometimes certain tactics are more effective than others.

Noob or veteran, tactics are tactics. If the killer lets you go after an unhook in favor of the other survivor, that's a choice based on what's best in the moment. If your proving particularly difficult, the killer may not want to wait until you heal up and take advantage of your weakened state. You can call it smart or low skill but unless they tell you why your only getting 1 perspective of reasoning. I expect no favors from the killer and that includes letting me go for the sake of 3 hook entitlement.

    Unsafe unhook, go for saver.

    Safe unhook, whoever is closer!
