A harsher DC penalty really needs to happen

When people DC I get annoyed and frustrated, but today it happened in such a way that I was outright angry.

I want to say upfront that I main Killer and do my best to not be toxic. I hook a survivor and go check on gens. I only go back once I'm notified that they were pulled off the hook.

I've had my share of toxic survivors, but I just let it roll of my shoulders. DCing upsets me because it not only messes up my game, but the game of the other three players.

So two games in a row. A survivor dropped a pallet, stood there teabagging, continued to stand there until either hit or downed, then quit. The amazing thing was that it was a different person, in two separate games, back to back.

The first one I was playing as Amanda and because they quit mid pickup I was stuck only being able to ambush and when I crouched I was forced to stand back up, it made downing any other survivors very difficult. As I both standing, with crouch speed, and could only ambush.

The other survivor simply quit as they were downed.

Some sort of timed ban for repeated DCs like some FPS games do or anything, something. It's gotten ridiculous.

Sadly, it's a wide-known issue. Some DC after my first blink as Nurse.

    It's ridiculous.

Though I don't doubt that a good chunk of them are rage quits, I do have to say that there is an issue in this game with disconnects that are not related to intentional actions. Due to long que times as killer, I played a lot of survivor this past weekend and I was disconnected from host on a ridiculous amount of games. Not just me, but a couple of friends that played on comms, not in my matches, but other matches (they are much lower rank) had the same issue. Some were at the worst times, like when I got hit by a clown and suddenly disconnected. Or when I was the second to last survivor and got hooked. I'm hitting space bar and then disconnected. My net signal is good, and my son is connected to the net just fine, but I'm booted.

I've had it happen in the first 30 seconds of some matches. I counted 11 matches (did not count the first 3-5) over a total of 17 hours of game play in which I lost connection. I've become convinced that BHVR has an issue on their side, since I've not had a single issue as killer since last night. Not a single lost connection as killer, but lots of DC's of the survivors. I run Trapper, so not that many people that rage quit when they see a trap on the ground.

I honestly wouldn't say what I experienced were rage quits, just trolling.

They just need to make it so if you d/c you are not able to join a new game until the current game you d/c'd from has ended. Until the game has ended you will be given an option to spectate.

I have seen suggestions of allowing re-joining, but imo there is no easy way to balance it to where it wouldn't be abused.

While only being allowed to spectate would suck for a legitimate d/c, games really do not last that long anyways. And if you are actually getting legitimate disconnects where this prevents you from playing a lot then that is an issue you would need to fix on the ISP side.

if only there were a way to reword this message in a different way, so that one is not merely parroting the same thing everyday.
