Legion is not destroyed.
And I can only guess, but if someone DCed nearly every time vs Legion, he might not even know how it was to play vs the old Legion and cannot compare it to playing vs new Legion.

Tbh I see both sides complain equally. Four survivors and one killer in a match doesn’t affect the player base/forum.

"Legion = DC" is a legitimate meme. Not as in "funny internet meme picture", but the actual original definition that describes an idea/behavior and such that spreads within a community/culture and becomes ingrained into people's brains.
I'm sure it will fade with time as people realize Legion isn't the same killer as they used to be but it'll take some time I bet.
