Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Option to end the game.

During the EGC survivors could do with the option to just end the game. If the doors spawn close to each other then your chances of escape are pretty slim and I would just prefer to trigger the end so I can move on to the next game.

This would also help being slugged for 4 minutes, killer gets to see the animation and would hopefully cut down DCs a little bit.

    @ClogWench

Probably not but it doesn't hurt to ask. I like the EGC as it feels really tense but it does kinda suck when you know you are dead as soon as it starts.

Frankly as long as they set a minimum and maximum distance between gates so that there's always at least a slim chance, I can't see this being necessary. Plus you know every bitter survivor is gonna hit Kill Self to deny the killer bloodpoints, emblem points and/or BBQ stacks

They could also reduce the bleedout timer on survivors during that time... The killer shouldn't be slugging the last survivor when the EGC has triggered.

Only if awarded the full bbq, achievement goals and hook points as survivors can right now just stealth or hide in a locker and run it out giving the killer less BP, you don't want a quicker mechanic to allow the same.

@ClogWench I would assume it would still count as a sacrifice and all that. I would be happy with a set distance as if they are to far apart its bad for the slower killers.

It will be really fun once it's fine tuned.

@twistedmonkey if the player wants to drag it out then that's up to them. Hiding till they die is fair enough I just cba with it 😂

This is just a way that the killer gets points, can see the animation and the game just moves on.

Nope. The EGC doesn't favor survivors too much. It's slightly killer sided. As it should be.

Deal with the changes. They are actually very good.

@Dwight_Confusion I never said it needs to be survivor sided? I am fine with everything but the whole reason it was created was due to people dragging stuff out. If you get the points if we just give up what is the issue?

Some things are just fine the way they are.

    I just love it. (Sarcasm)

Survivors held the game hostage for 60+ minutes for the last 2 years = "git gud", "just equip whispers" or "if you don't like it, DC noob".

Killers "hold the game hostage" for 3-4 minutes = this is unbearable! We demand a concede button and want killers punished for slugging!

    One thread/t after another.

Survivors get a glimpse of what killers had to endure and they don't like the taste of their own medicine. Not even a sip. They demand changes and what's even worse, they'll probably get the devs to change it to their favor. Just like always.

    @Tsulan GAAAHHH!

    endgamechallenge.jpg

but on a serious note.... the issue isn't high rank survivors.

the issue is the ease you can knock a low skilled survivor into a no win situation and then troll them for it.

However.... I'm always up for the Challenge!

    It's more like a Tsulaaaaaaaan!

    Like Khaaaaaaaaaaaan! From star trek...

    But I'm getting off topic.

Uhm, just equip Unbreakable or No Mither?

@Tsulan yee.. true... but the grind is brutal in this game and not all the low skilled players have all the perks they can use on the character they want to play.

He higher ranked players tend to have more of the perks they need... not these little guys who have to learn still.

I like to play with my rabbits... but there was a few times that even I felt a bit too evil in what I did.

Survivors already have an option to end the game. DC. Its obvious nothing is going to be done about it

    The devs encourage disconnects

Remember when they tried the new matchmaking, in the same patch that changed the emblem system to make it more difficult to rank up? And then they disabled the new matchmaking, making it impossible for highrank players to play because the wait times were 30 minutes minimum

The only way to be able to play was to disconnect repeatedly after waiting for ages to get into a game to get back to a rank where it was actually possible to play

It should be trivial to tune the disconnect ban system, if it actually existed or worked, by changing the ratio of disconnected games you have to pass to be banned. This is not happening because a) the system doesn't work, b) the system is so broken it physically does not function anymore but has in the past or c) because the devs are cool with disconnects

Feel free to pick whichever option you like out of those three because they are the only ones that exist

@Tsulan why would you just assume all survivors have that attitude? It would be like me saying all the killers do this with the end game. Its not a major issue I was just asking if it was possible.

    So balancing around low ranks...

Why does this sound so familiar?

    *cough* Freddy *cough*

    Never claimed everyone.

But you can't deny that there are at least a dozen threads about getting rid of EGC.

@Tsulan that's very true. It's always the case when something is introduced that is controversial.

I like the end game, it makes things pretty tense. There is just a lot of situations where if the doors spawn together and you have a fairly competent killer it's pretty hopeless. I don't want a free escape, just a slightly better chance to motivate me.

If they moved the doors to far apart this would be unfair on the killer as well so just a slightly larger minimum and smaller maximum distance would make me happy.

If the survivor can quit and the killer gets the points and sacrifice I can't see why it would be an issue.

    It's a IF equation.

If low rank survivors get matched with high rank killers, the outcome is predictable and very unpleasant.

Same goes the other way around. If low rank killers get matched with high rank survivors.

If one side wants to hold the game hostage, it will be for a max of 4 minutes.

Which I find an okay time.

Solution to the gate problem: bring keys.

They've been almost useless until now.

"I don't want a free escape, just a slightly better chance to motivate me."

Do 5 gens, find the hatch before killer, use stealth. Sounds like a pretty good chance as is.

  • Bithard
    Bithard Member Posts: 406

@ba_tetsuo so just play as normal? I am more than capable of stealth play, that's easy. Getting keys is a bit more tricky and they are not readily available but that's fair enough.

It's not that big of a deal and I can just go run the killer for points if the doors are to close together. If I'm slugged then I will do something else for a few minutes.
