Can you farm exp by staying in a match forever?

I was just wondering this because one of the ways to earn exp in dbd to spend time in matches. If it works the way that I first thought it did, then you can just leave your item that you use to play on for the whole day and convince the killer to do the same(I've seen it happen). So I assume it will be a cap like the old system but I haven't tested it out. Does anyone know?

    Points are accumulated by doing gens, altruistic actions, evading chases and surviving (via exiting) none for time unfortunately..
    Going AFK all day will get you zero points

    I'm assuming you are talking about Experience for your Player Level, and not BP. I think there is either a cap, or the experience gained tapers off tremendously. The most I've gotten was 580'ish, might have been 584, but I can't remember. Then the emblems on top of that. I've never actually gotten higher than that, even though I had a few matches that stretched for an extreme amount of time just due to the gameplay. It might be capped, but not positive.
