Leather Face is the worst killer, change my mind.
Jokes aside, I think Leather Face is worse than Freddy or The Pig. The only good build on him is Spirit Fury + Enduring, and most of his add-ons are worthless on him.
Two of those add-ons that Leather Face is famous for "Chili, and Award-Winning Chili" don't even work... And I don't know why they still haven't been fixed.
I'm currently P3-50ing Leather Face and let me tell you, its an experience. Playing him makes me actually have to try in most scenarios because the only viable build he has I don't currently have. So its just a hit or miss when it comes to skilled Survivors.
At least with Freddy he has viable builds and Add-ons (Doesn't mean he doesn't need a rework he DOES.) and Pig has amazing stalling capability's with her RBTs. Most of the time when you use a build built around her power it will work for you and kill at least one survivor because of it. The RBT gives you a sense of inflated urgency and wastes time, giving her more time to kill other Survivors while the person with the RBT try's to remove it regardless if its timer has started or not.
I used to hate Leather Face when facing him, but now that isn't even a thing for me anymore. I just hate him in-general, which is sad cause he is a movie icon in the horror industry. But I just don't like how limited he is.
Also, why is Chili and Award-Winning Chili still broken? Can someone please tell me how that hasn't been fixed yet. And if it isn't broken (I tested it, it doesn't benefit you at all vs without it) why is it so bad?

Why change your mind when i agree with it?
He needs a rework after Nightmare if you ask me.
11 -
The title was a joke, but yeah he needs to be reworked after Freddy for sure. Hes the hardest killer to manage without that one build I mentioned, and even then why should I only be limited to one build to make him viable?
Against skilled Survivors he's a Nightmare (literally) but against regular casual Survivors it varies on how they do against him.

I dont know, I think Trapper is worse. He is not only an M1-Killer, he is also RNG-based. And the prime example of "Add-On dependent", if you use the best Add-Ons, he is quite decent. Leatherface has some more useful Add-Ons, which do not have such a high rarity.
But he needs some love, clearly. His Add-Ons are either not working or simply Copy&Paste.
7 -
Leatherface is just a cash grab to be honest, the only reason people buy his DLC is because of his perks, other than that, Bubba is still a worse version of Max.
1 -
In my eyes I can't agree nor disagree if Trapper is worse since that's how hes always been. Trapper is unique and like you said is RNG-based for sure, but he has add-ons that work him him.
As for Leather Face most of his add-ons are Copy&Paste from Hillbilly's and two of the add-ons that are unique to him alone don't even work. So its a tough call to make on which is worse.
1 -
This I also agree with, his perk BBQ & Chili are what most people buy his DLC for, the Killer itself is nothing to write home about. I think he needs a whole overhaul to his add-ons and possible his power.
If not his power his add-ons for sure since most of them as stated above are just Copy&Paste from Hillbilly's which makes him not very unique. He just feels like Hillbilly without the sprint.

I think Leatherface and Clown are the worst. Clown is ridiculously overrated in my opinion.
1 -
He is the worst killer imo.
1 -
Leatherface and Trapper are the worst killers in the game. Freddy was not as bad as everyone thought. The memes got out of control. He's amazing at stalling if you play him using a hit&run strategy.
2 -
Hes great at wasting Survivors time by pulling them in the dream state.
As for Leatherface and Trapper they're pure M1 killers pretty much, Leatherfaces chainsaw can be a hindrance in some chases.
1 -
I think people over exaggerate the Clown because of his bottles that slow and blur a Survivor when hit by them.
0 -
O.o leatherface makes me miss this sword...
1 -
Just one word; Legion
2 -
This is true even more so with his massive nerf he got.
But I still think his power actually does more than Leatherfaces because most Survivors STILL for whatever reason don't heal against Legion from a chain FF stab.
So... especially with his 4.6 movement speed now its easier to kill Survivors with his M1, but hes still bad don't get me wrong.

Leatherface is the worst. Freddy can at least delay the game, Leatherface has nothing.
1 -
I agree. Most killers have atleast SOMETHING going for them. Some strategy that you can employ around their power that gives them an advantage. Leatherface has nothing and its sad given his stature as a horror icon. The guy needs to be reworked completely. Mr Tum Tums deserves better.
4 -
I don't want to talk from my killer experience but when I play survivor, leatherface is the easiest killer to go against.
In red ranks, it is already difficult enough to get the lunge attacks. A power like leatherface's chainsaw has so many downsides to be relevant at those ranks.
0 -
Trapper is no where near the worst killer in the game especially after his rework. Trappy Boi is solid mid tier and there is alot of strategy you can use with the Trapper if you know what you are doing.
2 -
The brutal slowdown on his chainsaw plus with the charge action being cancelled despite the bar being full makes him such a headache to play. It actually works against you especially at high ranks. Only time i ever play leatherdaddy anymore is if i have a daily or i am drunk and want to be a mindless killer.
0 -
I agree. At least Freddy gets a free hit, Leatherface is just an M1 killer against good survivors. His chainsaw is also terrible without addons which even okay survivors could avoid. But at least Leatherface can't have his targets unhooked right in front of him.
1 -
He doesn't need a whole rework, he needs some QoL changes. His chainsaw charging should have the same mechanic as billy, his slowdown should be reduced and his speeding while using it should be faster. Some addons should be reworked.
Just that should make him a lot better.
Maybe give him some kind of mobility like Billy and he could be top tier with map pressure
0 -
Its worse for me since i'm actually trying to P3-50 him to just get him out of the way. And this made me realize how horrible he was to use.
0 -
I wouldn't say make him top tier, but the way he currently is feels... incomplete, he feels like they just took most of Billy's add-ons gave him a chainsaw like Billy's but removed the sprint from it and called it a day.
Kinda disappointing, and the only fun you get out of him is making a basement build... Which can still get boring.
0 -
Yeah exactly, he is missing something. His unique thing should be the possibility to chainsaw multiple survivors at once, but that never works besides camping a hook.
He needs more mobility. Maybe he should have 2 different chainsaw attacks. One which inflicts insta down but doesn't last long and one which inflicts one injured state while beeing really fast with high mobility and lasts as Long as you want. Basically like Billy.
0 -
At the very least if they don't change his mobility in base form, his add-ons that do change his mobility SHOULD work (Chili and Award-Winning Chili) because as they claim they increase "acceleration"
0 -
Oh believe me i know how you feel. My Leather boi is p3 50 and that was an absolute slog. Normally i would just farm on my other killers for points but my leatherface had some survivor pudding i wanted to use up and i could not bring myself to waste them.
0 -
@SadonicShadow Yeah leatherface is one of those killers that the devs tried to give survivors a 'chance to survive'. This is why he has so many down sides.
At least we have billy lol
0 -
I knew it was, it's the first thing you said in the post.
Was just playing along. 😋
0 -
They just need to remove the slow down from his charge up. Do that and suddenly he will be a lot more viable, since the survivor's running wont negate your speed boost.
7 -
I agree. Apart from instadown with the chainsaw he has nothing else going for him. At least Freddy gets a free hit, and with the right add ons can make you go asleep faster and make it tougher to wake up.
0 -
Chili does nothing, I noticed zero difference with and without it except for the huge penalty it gives.
0 -
Yeah, if that cool-down when you stop charging the chainsaw was removed he'd be a lot more viable and useful. Its funny how that one thing could make a huge difference.
0 -
Exactly, Leatherface has none of that. Nothings really going for him.
0 -
@TreemanXD By the way, I know people say Freddy is the worst killer. But I feel most those same people never touched Leatherface really...
If you pick him up for more than like 2 matches it literally gives you a headache (Gave me one for sure.) and it got to a point where I got so pissed about how bad he was that I switched to another Killer just so I can farm points for him.
I usually like to farm points for the Killer that i'm P3-50ing with said Killer, but he was just too much that...I..I couldn't it was too much, i'm gonna get back into it again today but I doubt it will be any different as last time.

Insidious + Leatherface
Ez win
0 -
For ignorant Survivors yeah, skilled is a different story.
1 -
No offense to Leatherface mains but I really don't think he was a needed Killer.
0 -
@FireHazard naw even skilled survivors fall for traps like that
0 -
I'd be surprised if anyone mains Leatherface and doesn't use him ironically with a basement build...
0 -
Regardless, for Killers that want to use Leatherface without resorting to the basement isn't very viable.
Hes fun for a joke basement build yeah, but if were looking from a different standpoint he has nothing going for him.
0 -
Far to many people think it's cook to post "Change my mind"
Change my mind! and for bonus points "My Boi!"
1 -
"Worst" is a strong word. No he is not worse than Freddy, but I would put him right above the ol' dream-haunting bastard.
1 -
Its a play on that itself, notice how it says at the start "Jokes Aside" in bold? Its poking fun at the same exact posts people would make to "click bait" you into clicking on them.
I thought it was funny.
0 -
This in itself can be debated, but the one thing I can agree on is they BOTH need a rework badly.
0 -
I play him a lot without resorting to basement builds. It doesn't end well for me. 😥
0 -
Hes needs a massive change to his add-ons and tweaks to his power.
If anything they need to change some things like his cool-down when you stop charging your chainsaw mid-charge.
And they also need to fix his unique add-ons, since Chili and Award-Winning Chili do zero, nada, zilch to base Leatherface. If anything they hinder him more than help him with the penalty it gives with no benefit.
0 -
The only way I've ever made Leatherface even halfway decent is with his speed add-ons to sprint at Survivors with the Chainsaw...but even then if it's a certain map or the Survivors loop/juke the Chainsaw well enough then you're just stuck to basic hits. At LEAST every other Killer has a decent ability that isn't at such a detriment
0 -
I know what add-on combo you're talking about (The Beast Marks + Knife Scratches) and its basically the only viable combo to down Survivors with when it comes to the chainsaw.
He can use Billys best combo (Carburetor Tuning Guide + Primer Bulb) for faster charges to break pallets faster... BUT... its out-shined by the combo above AND only works when literally no pallets or windows are around to use it.
Both combos can also only be used when no pallets or windows are around but the first one is the only one that can really catch up to Survivors.
In short, with such good add-ons that Billy has, Z E R O of them are actually of use to Leatherfaces current situation.
1 -
Exactly and perfectly stated. I love Leatherfsce aesthetically and from the franchise of Movies, but unless I'm going against low ranks or potatos, he just won't cut it as well as the rest and you have to really not make mistakes and be sure to capitalize on Survivors.
Sadly no map pressure or way to consistently slow the game down means ol Bubba is gonna stay down low
1 -
Right, no map pressure especially how the games currently going is really bad.
With the whole Gen rushing debate, its hard to say Leatherface could even 4k a skilled team of Survivors. He could if he basement camped but not every person wants to just resort to that one "build" and even if you use it a skilled team wont fall for that crap.
They'll either know its a waste of time and die trying or the entire team just gen rushes you while you waste time downing one person who just loops you around 10 places and when you finally down them there's like 2 gens left if you're lucky.
He has nothing going for him, which is baffling that they leave a horror icon like Leatherface in such a bad state. As I said above he feels unfinished, and rushed for some reason.
