Killers can no longer see the survivors in the lobby.
Can we have it so the killer can no longer see the survivors enter the lobby or at least what they are bringing into the match.
I just had killers dodge my lobby about 6 times and wow ######### man. see a med kit dodge the lobby, see a toolbox dodge the lobby.
I think if at the very least survivors did not show what was in thier hands in the lobby less killers would dodge much less. You can't see what add-ons they use so they should not see what items you have.
Opinions? Suggestions?
Give it to me.

The killer is allowed to see what survivors are bringing to prepare accordingly (Franklin's, flashlights against Hag/Wraith etc.).
I rarely see lobbies getting dodged because of one single medkit or one toolbox. And if survivors bring 3+ toolboxes, I don't blame killers for dodging because gen rush is already bad enough.
And you really can't compare killer's add-ons to survivors' items. Except for Nurse and Billy, killers have to use add-ons, otherwise they are way too weak. On the other hand, items for survivors are just "nice to have" but not essential at all.

No. This has a significant impact on game balance. Killers are meant to be able to prepare their loadout with regards to what the survivors have.
The real problem is that killers are able to dodge with disregard. No one should have this privilege in a competitive environment.

Killers have to see items to prepare for the match. It’s at their discretion to use Franklin’s or Lightborn etc. to do with as they please.
If you don’t want a killer to dodge, accept that 4 items or multiple of said items or spotting a key (especially with a map) are risky grounds.
If anything, killer items perks need to be stronger. Franklin’s should damage at 33%, OP should go into effect 15 seconds outside the terror radius as well.
And unless they plan on fixing gen rush, there needs to be an item limit.

By that reasoning Survivors should be allowed to see which Killer they are going to be going up against so they can prepare accordingly.
And we wouldn't want that now would we? fair and consistent balance? oh no no NO! we can't have that!
6 -
@Visionmaker The problem is that newer players don't have all different killers and perks leveled up and often can't prepare accordingly.
This is not a shooter where everybody can just pick the loadout of their choice. People have to grind and the grind is immense.

@SlinkyJinky Why do you think it would be balanced if the survivors knew which killer they are facing? To me, that sounds heavily unbalanced.
9 -
There is a big difference with seeing survivors(skins) with items compared to killers (have different powers and aren’t just skins).
10 -
Huge difference. If survivors saw killers, the game would be over before it started. That’s too big of an advantage because survivor perks actually counter killers whereas Franklin’s is merely annoyance.

I mean killer add-ons are hands down more powerful than what a survivor can bring in. Once you find out what they are using its to late and your in the match.
Which is fine, I just want to play not get dodged over and over. If it's unlimited T3 myers, tons of blinks nurse, even wraith with no bell sound and no terror radius it's gonna be a bad day.
You can never prepare for everything.

Survivors have the most important tool they need to prepare for a match: communication (well, console players can't chat pre-game but they are just console players, they don't count). In return, the killer can see their items, which is not much information anyway: there's a huge difference between a brown medkit with Rubber Gloves and a green one with Abdominal Dressings and Gel Dressings, or BNP toolbox vs brown toolbox with brown addons. Not to mention that during the match survivors can quickly figure out most, if not all of the killer's perks, whereas the killer has to make an effort to remember the perks of FOUR survivors.
The game's balance is designed around a lot of factors, one of them being killer's ability to see survivors' items. It's fine as it is.
With all that, yea, I agree lobby dodging is just a pathetic thing to do, and even more difficult to prevent than DC-s: devs can't just start banning people for dodging. Not all killers do that, so even if it's annoying sometimes, it gives you a few more minutes of waiting time at worst.

“but they are just console players, they don't count).”
~TreemanXD will remember that D:~
I agree with a lot of your points though. ☺️

Blendette has the best stealth in dbd, even better than Freddies (because she doesn't go around playing a lullaby on a portable boom box)
It allows the Killer to know weather they need to turn their monitors brightness and contrast way up.

@NoShinyPony as someone with max perks on 6 killers. I’ll say this grind isn’t as bad as u make it out suck it up buttercup.
try having to spend years to make 1 item lol
Not trying to come off as mean but this games grind is a joke

Hey if people with higher then green ping would leave maybe people would stop ...
just a thought

Insta heal , ultra rare part for toolbox those are very powerful.
2 -
I dodge all the time when I see 4 people enter at same time. Sometimes I just dodge lobbies cause the person has a skin and I don't want to deal with that.
0 -
Poor Lightborn & Franklin's Demise.
0 -
Skin? Why would that make you leave?
2 -
Shows the person is invested and will probably loop me forever or be toxic as hell. They also usually come in groups.

@ApeOfMazor are....are you serious? You can spend all the BP you want and still be bad. The skins only mean they want to look different. It's not a direct reflection of skill. I'm in p3 bloody Kate and ash and die ALL the time.
Also 4 people joining at once is almost impossible to tell swf from 4 solos now.
You're only hurting yourself by losing good practice, and wasting your own time. Just play the game or uninstall.

@NoShinyPony What is your point? New survivors will have nothing that new killer players need to be adequately prepared for.
There is no reason for a player to be able to dodge match ups, other than ping and uneven ranks.
0 -
@pemberley ok now 33% is way too high killers could always pretty much break your item in one hit if you use it significantly enough
0 -
Then survivors always bring 4 toolboxes which ends in a 2 min match. Yes, great idea.

That's Right . Many killer players always bring up how it'd affect killer preparation but it isn't supposed to be handed .. You either Run Ruin / BBQ / Nurse or Sacrifice a slot for Franklin's . While there is a mystery for Survivors and they need to figure out which killer they run into . It should be the Same for killers as well and they need to go with their guts either they want to slow the game or go with end game perks or whatever fly their boats .
I get Dodged a lot for bringing an item that I stopped bringing items , I even get dodged for Skins .. if there are multiple P3 survivors , Glowy outfits some killers just chicken out and leave .
So instead it should look like this . Only Revealing if a spot is filled or not and if it is a male or a female survivor along with their ID only . Not Their skin or item.

Imagine this was a thing when Flashlights could still blind you while you were facing the opposite direction.
Complete nightmare, but not its with toolboxes if this was a thing.

Like I said its not a guarantee they are good but it shows they are invested enough in the game to buy skins which usually means they are at least decent to great and they usually play with friends and are toxic. So sometimes I just dodge them. I don't need practice getting looped forever.

Or they just like looking pretty??
0 -
And if they werent invested in the game they would not care about looking pretty.
0 -
What you saying about console players? Anyway this post is ridiculous.
1 -
It's a niche game. It's not hard to get invested because there's virtually no competitors.
1 -
This game isn't competitive though.
It's a casual game through and through.

It's not just a few minutes of waiting time. When there are more than one Camou Claudettes in the lobby I already expect the worst and prepare for a match against Doctor, because I know he's coming.
When I play Camou Claudette I usually end up fighting Doctor, if not Doctor I fight an Ebony Mori.
Killers having time to prepare is messed up and frankly ruins the game. They should balance differently. I also don't mind removing pre-game chat.
