Permanently banning players for disconnecting is stupid.
You'll have to ban me in order to silence me.

No one is saying bans will come if you disconnect.
That's just public outcry, that's it. Nothing official.

"...There are no permanent direct bans for DCs...
Only if you get softbanned three times, then you get a permanent ban." ~ Quoted from Gay Myers (Luzi)
23 -
If anyone gets soft-banned enough, with the DC threshold being as high as it is, they obviously don't want to play the game so...🤷♂️
15 -
Yeah right, but I think a permanent ban is a little over exaggerated, no matter how many times you DC. I mean come on, in what other game do you really get banned instead of locked out from a match? I don't know any other game.
2 -
What are you? CASUAL!?
Stop DCing and...
12 -
DC bans follow an escalation process that's different from current ban escalation, which means for you to be perma-banned for DCing, you have to be temporarily banned 3 times before hand. If you DC that much to get perma banned, then you had it coming to be honest. Nothing against you, it's just the game's rules.

In order to get permanently banned from disconnecting.. you'll need to disconnect a lot. Like, a shitload.
17 -
If you get perma banned for disconnecting then you deserve it. You would have to disconnect a lot just for that level of a ban.
16 -
@Sairek Hardly though...
You have to quit a ridiculous amount...
These people wouldn't be doing it if they were actually getting their temp bans...

You know how many games are ruined for others by people DCing? Im struggling to even pip as survivor or killer as theres so many. Perma bans are needed to clean up the player base abusing the dcing. If they cant stop dcing then they deserve it. Behaviour has given us a good amount of room for innocent players not to be affected due to bad connection or having emergencies needing an instant dc.
Its ruining the game and enjoyment for others. Perma banning cleans up the players abusing it.

Yes and no.... on final fantasy 11 it is true square Enix doesn’t ban you... however if u ditch me mid fight I’d go back to town and let people know and u would have a muti player game were almost no one would play with you...
could go the phantasy star online method and add a dc counter next to your name let people choose to play with you.

Just make DCers play with each other.
17 -
That's actually not too bad I guess.
1 -
For disconnecting repeatedly to a very excessive amount? Literally every single multiplayer game features that as part of the rule set. Reasoning behind it is simple as well, repeated disconnections from the game are very disruptive. Even moreso in games that are team based.
That is a possibility once dedicated servers roll out, but even then if you're still dcing at a high rate you're getting banned.

You won´t be able to get a full match.
Don´t like the map? DC
Don´t like the killer? DC
Don´t like the offerings? DC
Killer hit you? DC
Killer doesn´t vanish to the other end of the map after a hook? DC
Survivors instantly unhook you? DC
Survivors don´t unhook you instantly? DC
The list goes on and on.
But sure, if YOU want to play like this...
Just as long as you leave the mature players with this playstyle alone.
10 -
Nah. They should ban the lot of you.
Good riddance.
7 -
For example: I keep DC'ing because I have an old crummy copper wire ADSL1 internet connection.
Not every DC situation warrants a ban.

Then you shouldn't play online multiplayer games if your computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements.
14 -
@Bbbrian2013 Why do you think complaints have spiked all of a sudden? My guess is, after the devs lowered the threshold, more DCers are getting banned.
1 -
perm ban for DC is too much, just warn us with temporary bans, in the end we paid for the game and should decide selfishly when to DC
0 -
We have rules in the game, the same as any other game does.
As has been said, we don't instantly perma ban but it works on the escalation system, so anyone who gets perma banned due to DC'ing must have DC'd an awful lot and ruined a lot of peoples games.
Sometimes you need to click that Leave Match option, due to various reasons - stuck in game and it can't progress, someone knocking on your door or an important phone call etc. However, those instances should be rare, and those alone are not enough to get you banned.
22 -
My friend lives in vietnam and in summer got like x5 DCs a day due to current outages, that scenario is impossible to verify so may get banned

Then a online game might not be the right thing for him.
I know, its unfair. But people abused the system so much, that there is no other way around.
14 -
^ Thank you.
You said in your thread it's stupid people get permanently banned for one DC ban - which is completely untrue. No one gets directly permanently banned for DCs.
DC bans are softbans. This means you have three chances before you get permanently banned.
10 -
nope, he is saving money for buying one of these turrets to keep the current, u know? wuts the name? a SAI??
0 -
@Gay Myers (Luzi) just out if curiosity, did that even happen once that someone got permanent banned for DCing? I mean, a normal human beeing who wants to keep playing should already take the first soft ban to heart and reduce this behaviour or not
0 -
Yes lets not get rid of the players who continue to (despite several softbans) keep ruining the game for everyone else they play with. Surely this can only lead to a worst game overall...smh DC player logic.
4 -
How do people actually DC enough to get banned? Only times I've actually done it is if the connection is unbearable or once to give someone the hatch. And once when my electric cut out. Why do people actually do it?
3 -
Because they're fully aware that it ruins things for other people and they're intentional #########. Behavior could cull a crapload of disconnects by rewarding people who have to deal with disconnections. Let's say 2000 bloodpoints in each category for each disconnect you're not in swf with for both survivor and killer. Auto BBQ and WGLF stacks for each disconnect, and 33% faster gen repair speed for each disconnect. You'd simultaneously eliminate a major reason for disconnecting as well as make disconnecting less annoying for those that have to deal with it.
10 -
@HavelmomDaS1 If they received already three past bans, then yea, their next DC ban would be a permanent ban. I'm pretty sure there are some.
1 -
stop dcing and your set
see? it was not that difficult
otherwise keeps crying nub
4 -
Maybe after ruining the first two games for four other people, he should've thought about taking a break...
You have to D/C a freaking ridiculous % of your games to get any suspension or ban. Your "outages" are no excuse. You have been doing it on purpose and whatever mistake you claim is actually the last nail in the coffin.
5 -
League of legends,CSGO, For Honor, Dota 2. Every online game with multiplayer dude, you kinda blind.
0 -
@Gay Myers (Luzi) Having any number of soft bans is scary in-general. I'm sure they don't wipe the slate clean if the player was being a good killer/survivor do they?
If not, then yeah... its pretty scary to have one... (having two would put you in constant paranoia)
0 -
Most players won't have to deal with it because most players won't be d/cing every other game.
You cannot deny that the devs are already too lenient. At the very least, low priority queues should be a thing.
2 -
Right, you'd need to DC like 70% of your games to get a softban. So unless you're a known rage quitter you'll be fine.
0 -
It's amazing how you know that percentage even though no percentage has been stated. Funny enough, it's also the same percentage that was claimed when the threshold was higher than it is now.
0 -
disconnecting enough to get 3 soft bans and continuing to do it to get a perma ban is really stupid.
0 -
I don't DC anymore, maybe like once out of 40 games. There really is nothing else you can do, if you don't wanna get banned. But that's why I'm thinking, it is stupid that it even is possible to get permanently banned for disconnecting from the game. You can basically lose all your stuff (like exclusives or legacy) and the only option you'll have is to start from the bottom again. I don't think I would want to do that, but it really does get either annoying or really boring at high ranks, facing the same killers all over again and #########. Maybe region-locked matchmaking shouldn't be a thing anymore, because I really don't like how the people in my county play their killers. Or maybe a casual mode should be brought into the game.

Actually, there is something else you can do, if you don't wanna get banned for disconnecting: don't disconnect.
It's kinda like robbing a bank. If you don't wanna get arrested for it, just don't do it.
1 -
You will not get perma banned for disconnects. You would have to be extremely toxic (like death threat levels) or hack/cheat to get perma banned. Every other punishment is going to be a timed one that will run out at some point.
0 -
Temporary bans can and do escalate into permanent ones.
