USELESS survey's
WHAT is even the point doing the survey??? If they aren't going to listen to what people want. I'm pretty damn sure LOTS of people say NO! to the battlepass crap! Yet they still add it to the game. This quest thing, seams like it will force some to play as a killer or survivor to get through it. WTH!

Well the survey asked the questions after the decisions had already been made so you raise a good question.

When someone put the poll here on the forums not long ago, I'm pretty sure it was mostly 50/50 but the person above me is correct. The decisions were already made by that point.

It's like WHY, WHY, WHY, have a pass when there is a FREAKING FLIPPING store to sell cosmetics.

Battle Passes suck ass but guess what games they show up in? That's right, FREE GAMES. That's how they get their revenue, but DbD isn't free it costs $109 for JUST the game and its DLC. This DbD battle pass is bullshit and I have no idea why they thought this was a good idea, its terrible and they should have never went with this idea

I missed that part of the stream.
What did they say about the Battlepass?
What will it contain?

Either way the pass don't belong in DBD. THAT'S why they made the store LOL

I GUARANTEE that the purpose of the survey was to estimate how many people would purchase the battle passes and how many people wouldn't. They might have also estimated a % of players who would leave the game out of those who wouldn't pay.
They took this information to solidify the monetization of the pass and to determine the price point for it.
It was ALWAYS going to be in the game.

@SpaceCoconut Can we expect a reaction video today/tomorrow? 🤔

It was so when they had the stream they could know how to word it. If most people wanted it they could shout battlepass and everyone is exicted. Instead they did their best to barely mention it. Talking about the archive and then quickly mentioning it without ever using the word battlepass.

where is the survey?

I have another Twitch hunt scheduled tomorrow (same guy twice in a row) and a double hag video talking about flashlights and being tryhard.
I want to take a closer look at the battlepass graphic when I get home to see if there are any other indications on the matter. I'll also watch that section tonight to make sure I get my assumptions in-line.
I would like to discuss it... but it might turn into a rant lol
I appreciate that you're interested in my thoughts on the matter, thanks @Bbbrian2013

please explain how the battlepass would be something bad though.
its not pay2win, like they stated, its purely for cosmetics (no ninja survivor cosmetics) and it will give players a reason to play more frequently.
on top of that, you also get free cosmetics, just for participating! you can get more for paying something, but you would still be able to grind at least some of those cosmetics for free, which in my ears sounds really good.
the devs do not force you to put any money into this.
and dont worry, this game will not turn into fortnite, just because they have a battlepass now.
the devs also need to pay their bills, you know?

I completely agree with you.

The system creates a psychological anxiety disorder called "Fear of Missing Out" and takes advantage of it.
They goods presented are irrelevant, it's their presentation that's the issue. I need to watch the section again, but from what I understand the battle pass will be available for 3 months.
If you fail to complete all the tasks to earn the cosmetic you paid for you will be unable to acquire it. The items available in the pass will no longer be available when the pass is over so if you miss out or fail you miss out on the cosmetics forever.
This anxiety is what the system preys upon to drive sales higher than they would be normally.
This is the very definition of a predatory monetization system.
It's easy to say don't buy it or it's your fault for buying it or not having the self control to not buy it, but that's not the issue either.
BHVR as a company is taking advantage of people like this (myself included) and that's the problem.
Here's a follow up video that actually was pretty close to what the archives are...

I like the idea, can't wait did you see the results for the survey somewhere? Most people may not care enough to voice their opinions on the forums. There will be a free version and you can just get that. I think you can earn the premium version through play I like the idea more money for Dev's means the game will improve. More staff more content etc

Well devs pretty much only listen to streamers and high rank killers. They honestly could care less as long as the money keeps rolling in they are going to do what they want to do and eventually this game will go the way of so many others like F13. Down the tubes. Endgame crap was the start of it and its only going to get worse.

@doublev1986 Do you honestly think that more money for the devs, will actually make the game better? Wrong. The devs will see their ######### marketing scheme as a way to profit, instead of actually continuing to develop the game in a healthy way.
Games that have battle passes quickly die. It's earmarked in gaming history.
Fixing the game itself and making it great, is what will ultimately bring more people into the game, and increase revenue. There are many fog whisperers that have stated that if DBD has a battle pass, they are out.
The battle pass itself is a ploy for ######### development. It's like slugging 4 ppl and watching them bleed out. It's the ultimate slap in the face for players, that the devs priority is money, rather than stabilization. How long has the game been unstable? A year? 1 1/2 years? Sadly, that is the mindset of developers these days. Pocket money and not fix their game. It happens all the time. It's like the title of a secret office newsletter sent to all game developers.
Frankly? I couldn't give a crap about people that play this game full time, wanting an incentive to "play more". You play a game because you like it, you shouldn't need eCommerce rewards to continue playing. If you need a battle pass as motivation to continue playing a game to keep it exciting, perhaps it's time you found a new game to main.
Battle passes only work in games that have a huge player base. Else, they risk it all for a dwindling community. The 50/50% of people that don't want battle pass, let's say even 25% of the people that don't want it, end up leaving. The dev's just lost 25% of their continued revenue. They can't risk losing that much.
I personally don't mind purchasing items from the store. I can pick and choose what I want. If I have to play thru 50 levels of a battle pass to get 1 cosmetic item I want, is that worth my time? I don't go to the store and pay for a random bag of clothes hoping there is something I like. I want what I want. I think we can all agree that most of the cosmetics that they put out are........well.....trash. If they actually put good cosmetics and unique skins out, I would gladly shell out money for the skins that I want. If the modeling developers are going to focus on battle pass cosmetics, can we expect to see semi regularly released unique skins for survivor or killer? Probably not. They will be spending all of their time working on the cosmetics for the battle pass.

you have a problem with the battle pass? i think its a really GOOD idea

If I had to guess, I'd say the question was in the survey to gauge if there was an overwhelming opposition. I don't think there was though. Yeah a lot of people are whining about it on the forums but they're likely the loud minority. People are more vocal when they dislike an idea than when they like one.
Frankly I'm excited for the battle pass concept, and I'm excited to see where it goes. If you don't like it you're not forced to buy it and it won't change your gameplay at all.

I'll be pissed if you need to get battle pass thingy for Shirtless Myers or Swimsuit Plague

@SpaceCoconut i highly doubt these cosmetics would be gone forever. i believe they will be added to the store after the season for an auric cell price / become obtainable again in later battle passes, very similar to the Hallowed Blight cosmetic set.
also, for the whole "not wanting to miss anything out" part, i can understand where you are coming from, i used to be someone who always wanted to achieve everything, gain every reward, etc.
however, the current version of the store actually took away such thoughts from me, as the absurd amount of auric cells only cosmetics (which are horribly overpriced btw) really just annoyed me to an extend where i dont care weather i got something or not.
yes, this would only work if they get added to the store after the season ends, but like i said before i believe this will be the case. the devs wont just create multiple cosmetic sets every 3 months, just so they will never be obtainable again afterwards.
here is my speculation:
the devs will create 3 cosmetic sets. you will only be able to abtain one out of the free battlepass and get the other two by purchasing said battlepass for money (my guess would be 5 - 10$). after the season, these cosmetics will be added to the store for a price of 10$ each. that way people who missed out on a season can obtain them by directly purchasing them, while players who participated during the battlepass could obtain the same cosmetics for a drastically lowered price.
but this is just a speculation. who knows, maybe your right? maybe they do disappear forever? i thin kthe best would just be to wait and see instead of immediately starting to hate the devs for something we have never seen in action.

loot boxes are next on the list of scummy implements coming to DbD and its ok because it's cosmetics only..... @SpaceCoconut like you I can't wait for Pantheon, but there is another you should check out on steam look up Gold Express, imagine fast paced action like death garden but with out the shooter aspect to it. but plays like DbD.

They asked when they already had much of it already done.. so it didn't matter if people wanted it not.
Maybe they were gauging how far they could push it.

This community is always so negative if you don't want it don't buy it
