Question about the Ghost

I don't know if anyone is actually able to answer this question, but I'll ask anyways:

When Ghostface stalks someone, and exposes them, does that person immediately get notified that they are exposed? If so, that kind of ruins it. At that point it'd be better to just walk up and grab them, because if they see "exposed" pop up for no explainable reason, they are immediately going to take off running unless they have no idea what the Ghost does.
