Do killers always lose addons after a game?

Maybe a stupid question, but I rarely play killer ...

Do killers lose their addons after a game? Or do they keep them, if they achieve a certain number of kills/bloodpoints etc.?

If they always lose their addons... isn't that kind of unfair compared to survivors, who can carry their items out of games, if they are not depleted? (And get the fully-charged back?)

    Yes, even if you win (for some reason)

    I'd hazard a guess that it's related to the fact that it would mean you'd only need to achieve one of an OP add-on in order to be able to use it every game, and that wouldn't exactly be balanced if it were, for example, iridescent heads.

    Yellow add ons should be free in my opinion.

    Maybe the solution - in terms of fairness - would be that you have to fix survivor-addons? If you use 99% of the charge... you only get to keep 1% ?
