Why can't dev start out with stuff being very good/ and then nerf it. insteadof the other way around
This is guenine question for any on the forms I feel if that this strategy could be very succesful espically if they released mutiple ptb.

It's very dangerous to release something overpowered. Releasing something under-powered is disappointing but does not ruin your game's meta. Releasing something overpowered very much does ruin your game's meta. The best example of something being way too overpowered is Decisive Strike. The very original release of Decisive Strike almost killed the game completely prior to its initial nerf; and there is not an equivalent scenario I could imagine with an underpowered perk.
Thus, I think they have concluded that since they can't do patches (especially on console) frequently enough to constantly release overpowered things; they would rather undershoot and buff than risk too bad of an overshoot too often.
I do not necessarily agree with this decision; but that is my best guess as to the design process involved.

It’s easier to justify buffs than it is to justify nerfs.

How about balanced stuff?

Sometimes they start with something being bad then make it even worse. But they are trying.

The devs have done it before with mom it was good and didnt require skill and effort to use, but now it requires u to do something (protection hits). Why dont they do the same process for every

I can't even imagine a killer making it to PTB being overpowered and then needing nerfs going into live. What a strange world that would be. I'd like to see it though.

if they did, everyone would dc. there would be no data from the ptb. it would ship to live. people would dc live. the killer would be changed.

Because if a killer starts out too strong and then gets nerfed, killers will be screaming up in arms about them being nerfed. You know that’s the truth. It’s easier to go the opposite route and buff them, ghost face is obviously way too weak though as a starting point.
