So why does Ghostface have the floaty fabric?
I haven't seen anybody ask about this so I decided that I would; why does The Ghost Face have the floaty black strips of fabric behind him?
I have heard around that The Ghost Face is 'based on the TV Series', and not on the movie. I haven't seen either, didn't even know there was a TV series, but did Ghost Face in said media have this floaty fabric?
If it didn't show up in any other media, where did it come from? Is this supposed to be a completely original, unique Ghost Face specifically crafted for Dead By Daylight's universe, or is his in-game design with the floaty fabric trails actually from one of his appearances?

It's one designed within DbD's universe, since the license they got was to the mask, not the killer itself, and thus had to make their own ghost face. The floaty bits, loretically, is meant to be because of his connection to the entity.

It looks realy cool, that's it! Don't think about it!

I THINK they said on the dev stream it's to symbolize his connection to The Entity but don't quote me on that.

Lorewise it's meant to show his connection to the entity.
Gameplay wise it makes him easier to spot, They might look cool but he already has a pure white mask that can be spotted from so far away, In my opinion a stealth killer should blend with the environment as much as possible but ghostface with his mask and fabric is easily spotted.
The cosmetic leaks have one without it but you'll have a bright red mask and triangle on your robe. I think they intentionally want him to be easily seen.

It doesn't looks cool, it just looks plain stupid imo
It gives off your position to survivors, thats a huge minus
I hope there will be cosmetics to change that flying robe thing, its ugly and doesn't makes sense
Same with how i dislike Spirit's hair flying up

To me it is a like a metaphor for "ghost". But it is too Spiritey for a stealth killer.

I think its supposed to help survivors spot where you are.

I'm almost certain they are meant to reference the long strands of cloth the robe had in the Scream films, so I'm very happy they included them in game.

In the eh-em, movies- his robe is known to be very floaty and.. like, ruffle-ly.

I actually really like the sounds he makes when he gets stunned. It's very different and unique, PLUS it makes him seem even more ghostly .
