So, I'm aware that each rank reset occurs on the 13th. What I'd like to know is, what season are we currently in? I think it's kind of odd that this information isn't listed anywhere (as far as I can tell after various Google searches), considering the game has a decently large competitive playerbase at higher ranks, and other games like Overwatch tell the player what season they're currently in. Seasons in DBD don't seem to really mean anything...


Moreover, is it just me or has this season been hard as hell? I'm 1 pip away from rank 1, and getting here has been far, FAR harder than any other season, for me. It seems like you have to play flawlessly just to get a pip. I took a break for 4 months, has this been reworked? Is the criteria more strict now for pipping?

    when did i say it was overwatch? i compared their 'seasons', saying that dbd's is very threadbare.

    There is really not a count to the seasons because its monthly reset Although the good news is during the 3 year stream they did talk a little about the new ranking system and one thing they pointed out was longer seasons with rank rewards so you never know that could be the start of season 1

    It would be kind of cool if you could look at your past history and see your highest rank earned each season. But since the entire rank and season aspect of the game is rather pointless, it doesn't really matter either.

    As far as your question about ranking up goes, yes they changed the criteria for ranking up. You're right. Once you get past the potato players, it does get absurdly difficult to rank up. I've had lots of games as a killer where I get 3 or 4 kills and don't even get a single pip. Hell, you can get 2 kills and lose a pip.

    Has the current system been in game since the start? DBD launched on June 14th and turns 3 this year, yes?

    12x3 = 36 months therefore 36 seasons have passed if this system has been since launch.

    So Season 37 in 4 days.
