Killer gives up - and I de-pip? Really?
Why would I as a survivor get punished when the killer can't make a single hook while we repair 3 gens?
Why is him pussy-ing out any justification for de-ranking me?
The new pip system needs additional, built-in rules. For instance for killers: 4k always yields at least 1 pip.
And for survivors: If the killer dc's (intended or otherwise) at least SAFETY PIP for survivors.
It is not justifiable AT ALL that I get punished because the killer is bad? How does that make sense?

Well what if I told you disconnecting as a survivor can yield the same result to the killer?

Confirmed. It happened to me shitload times already.

I took a break and started reading here because I had three out five games end with three-man DC-s. I can't wait until the no heart babies are forced to power through or pay the ultimate price. If any of you are doing this I request that you go watch the Rocky Balboa box set and try to realize how pathetic you are. In the off chance that you manage to get your mind right try now to puke when you think about how disgusting your former self behaved.

This. We need people to understand more of this, and less of "wHy mE?!"
2 -
This is true. However killers DO get compensation for survivor disconnects. It literally gives them points in Devout under "Survivor Disconnections".
As far as I can tell, survivors don't get that kind of compensation. You get whatever you did in the match up to that point.
Both of these need to be fixed anyway, but people need to stop using stuff like this as an argument.

@rch614 No, they actually don't? They get points in malicious. No points in devout, which usually ends in a depip at high ranks. Get your facts straight please and thank you.

@AStupidMonkeyyFunny you try to correct me when YOURE wrong. I've had 10% Devout per DC. Get off me. And even if I was wrong? Point still stands. You get compensation.
Nice try.

@rch614 I disagree. Show me a screenshot where it gives you 10% Devout. If you do, I'll recant my statement. Otherwise, I stand by what I have said. (Adding on to my statement) Getting a little more malicious doesn't mean jack. Not getting Gold or Iridescent in Devout guarantees a depip at Rank 5-1 for killer and 500 points is nothing. You get more for a grab (600). A normal hit gives you 300.

I'll get a screenshot next time I make someone DC but let's take a quick trip to the wiki, shall we?
The goal of this Emblem is to receive as many points as possible:
Points received for sacrificing a Survivor: 2 Points
Points received for killing a Survivor: 2 Points
Points received for a Survivor that disconnected: 2 Points
Points received for bleeding-out a Survivor: 0 Points
Special Conditions:
Having hooked each Survivor at least once will award a Bronze Emblem.
Sacrificing 2 or 3 Survivors will award a Silver Emblem.
Sacrificing all Survivors will award a Gold Emblem.
Sacrificing all Survivors AND having achieved a total of 9 Hooks will award an Iridescent Emblem.

@Peanits I tried looking it up but I'm pretty sure that if you get 2 DC's and 2 sacrifices, you can only get Silver in the emblem system, correct? Because the DC doesn't actually give you Devout (It seems it does give you 2 points in it but it still doesn't count as an actual sacrifice since it give you points in malice instead) so Gold and Iridescent is impossible currently from a DC? Or am I wrong? Just wanted to verify it. Thank you. Seems you were right partially so far, @rch614 but I want to ask Peanits before I go on since I just looked stuff up but nothing came back to my question. I don't want to be wrong with my statement so I want to get more facts first. So far, 2 DC's still depip you nomatter what and if I'm not mistaken, 1 DC prevents Gold and Iridescent because it GIVES you 2 points in Devout but it doesn't actually count it as a "Sacrifice" at the end of the game. I could be wrong so I'm just waiting on Peanits.

Go play killer for once, you're bound to get a DC, 10% under devout for "survivor disconnects"

@Victory Okay, I admitted that I was wrong but you just need to get off my nuts. This wasn't between me and you. Second, we all make mistakes sometimes and so getting all high and mighty off of it, well, it looks a little sad. I didn't know you needed that much attention from a forum by making 3 POSTS about the SAME THING. Congrats. Have a great day :D

@AStupidMonkeyy That's fair. But I wasn't arguing that killers can't / don't depip from dc's. My argument is that killers at least do get some kind of compensation that more often than not at least safeties them. Survivor gets none whatsoever

@rch614 And I apologize for jumping the gun. I never noticed the 10% past the safety or depip since I usually get 2 more after that then I let the last one farm and have hatch because it stops being a match after 2. Even after 1 DC's, I just 2 hook because I know I'll depip or safety so I rather just try and get bps. I understand that, but the points that we do get is nothing. Just meager crap and since the DC usually just instantly ######### us, I just give up. Besides, who goes try hard on a 3-man team? Just not worth the time. I do know that it use to be 10 points in Devout for Iridescent and a DC grants 2 but I thought they changed the amounts on the last PTB so I wasn't sure if it was still possible to get anything higher than Silver so I wanted to ask Peanits. I agree that a survivor should get a little compensation. I think 1000 BPs in Survival and adds enough to get Silver in that emblem, 2 DC's guarantees Gold and 3 gives Iridescent, whether you live or die. I think it would be nice so the killer can still kill you but you don't get ######### by the DC's and neither does he. What do you think? Same goes for killer when it comes to DC's. 1000 BPs per DC. (My edit) I also changed my dislikes to likes on you since you were correct. I won't change what I said because I did call you out and I WAS wrong so I will let them read my reply and admit to it instead of changing it. I don't shy away from my own ignorance. We all make mistakes. Even if it makes you look like a giant ass XD I want to be an honest giant ass XD I can man up to my mistakes and thank you for correcting me with facts instead of just using feelings. Much love.

I'd really like that system yeah. Even when dedicated comes out and deters dc's, we'll still have people do it and screw over games. This system would be great.

@rch614 I edited my post before this and added the changes to the bottom so that you could read it. Just wanted to clarify a few last details.

@AStupidMonkeyy Much love my man

@rch614 One final note: If you want me to change my previous post to just agree with you, I can. It's up to you. I wanted to make sure they knew that I was, indeed, wrong. Just let me know before I head off in 5 minutes. Been up much too long. I got sidetracked by my kid then got sucked into the forum. (edit) I'll just check tomorrow. Gotta get some rest. Just tag me if you don't mind on your answer. Thank you.

Nah man it's fine

The ranking system is kinda BS anyways, it's literally just whoever you can farm off of the most as a Survivor. I get people who unhook me or others right in front of the killer just to get their points constantly. It's getting old.
1 -
Can we all just step back and agree that DC's simply suck all round, or are we still too busy deciding who is in the right and who said what first. When a thread like this devolves into an argument the point gets lost. If you wanna have it out, i'm pretty sure you can scribble on each others walls.
Honestly, this whole "Well survivors / killers do it so..." Just sucks and makes people look like kids. PEOPLE dc, whether survivor or killer and that's the hard fact. Yesterday alone i had 8 survivor dc's and 7 killer dc's, all of them rage quits or someone not wanting to play a certain map / killer.
The other side doing it isn't an excuse. If someone chooses to DC, it's on them not the other sides behaviour, and the issue of loss of points goes both ways. I've lost points / pips as killer and in some cases i have lost points and even items / offerings as a survivor.
The whole killer and survivor divide is not a free pass. People need to be responsible for their own actions. Nobody can make someone take that responsibility i know, but pointing the finger as an excuse is just bullpoop.
2 -
Exactly. DC's as a whole screw everyone over and is made worse by the entire "Survivor side vs killer side" overlay. I agree with both your points
2 -
At the end of the day it pretty much sucks for everyone who didn't DC. If the killer DC's, I've wasted my time and chance losing points, items and a pip. As a killer, its a little sad to see someone DC because you caught them, not to mention the points you lose. Losing half your team as a survivor is kinda crappy too, it makes things all the harder, especially with 5-4 gens still
Nobody can stop anybody from DCing until the system is changed, and I'm pretty sure some would tell me "F* off, I'll do as i please" which is fair enough i guess. But at the very least, lets stop the whole "I can do it because THEY do it" excuse.
My friend and I now have a rule when two people DC in a match, we'll go hunt down the killer and let them kill us because we know its crap for them as much as us. Same as a killer. If i end up with two or sometimes even one person left, i let them slam pallets on my head in between gens.

And honestly this is currently the only thing you CAN do to still get enough points to progess, so no shame there. It is just one way to cope that players found to counter the current lack of rules in the pip and point system to address this.
I'm sad to see this discussion turned to personal attacks, but well this is just the DBD community.
Yes I know there are points and ranked points for leavers, but they NEVER MAKE UP for the loss of potential chases, hooks and sacrifices. You simply cannot get the same potential.
And to my original point: The killer giving up and dc'ing should in no way, like ever, punish the survivors. That is just a big, fat oversight in the system and needs to be addressed. I am not asking to give extra points for making the killer leave, I'm just asking to at least safety pip every survivor if their killer disconnects, whether it was on purpose or not.
