Survivors camping hooks
So to preface, I've only played for a bit over a week (about 25 hours) and I'm essentially a killer main. I mostly just play survivor with my one friend. But I do have a lot of "second hand" experience from watching a fog whisperer. Also I'm in rank 13-15.
So what's happening is I'll hook a survivor, then I'll do a quick look around the immediate area and I'll typically spot a survivor close by trying to be sneaky for the save. I'll get the free hit and they'll run away, but I don't chase, I turn around to see the other two survivors go "oh crap he saw us" and now I'm essentially camping this poor guy because his buds are doing the same. Is this the new meta? I try not to camp and tunnel, but they have been giving me literally no choice. Then they berate me at the end for camping? I don't get it
Edit: I also want to say I don't typically like camping or tunneling. My first 5 ranks or so I would avoid it by leaving the hook immediately, and purposely avoiding someone who just got freed (until I come across them shortly after because they're bad at hiding). But now it seems unavoidable.

It's not camping when the survivors are swarming around the hook like mosquitoes. That's defending your hook. Let them talk all they want. If they don't do gens and rather try to aggressively try to unhook behind your back then there's no reason for you to leave. Simple as that.

My experience from the 1000hr's i put into this game is that most people are salty in endgame chat when they lose. don't worry about camping you play how you want. Camping is kind of a scummy move but it's your choice no one can tell you how to play. Also it's not camping if there are survivors at the hook what are you meant to do just walk away and let them get the unhook no. Don't listen to survivors made up rules like if i'm the last guy alive let me get the hatch if you don't your a noob. or if you tunnel i will report you. just keep playing how you want. p.s good luck in the fog.

What this guy said i tunnel every time you unhook in my face (I'm freddy/wraith main). They didn't care for their teammate to ensure I wasn't there or care enough I take the distract hit.

Because there's a difference between a target audience and subject.

@Commander_Riker so your target audience is killers? Your intention is JUST to tell a story? Either way, the categories of the forums make it clear that survivor related posts should go to the survivor subsection while killer related posts should go to the killer subsection. Those subsections arnt there to be some kind of survivor or killer club get together, lol.

Unless a moderator says otherwise, he can post this topic here because it deals with an issue killers deal with. They also tunnel gens and then want to talk about killers doing it.

Just ignore them they are trying to pass of there mistakes onto you, I had a survivor in the basements walked out saw scratch marks looked around saw a jane she starts looping shack, the person in the basement calls me a camper after he died on hook....... ok let me walk away from shack when I can see the jane runining around it makes sense ....some surviour thought processes mind boggles me and I’m a survivor main myself lol

@Commander_Riker Poor new killer. In time you will finaly discard that empathy you feel now for the survivors (it is only dragging you back). Camp and tunnel at yours heart's content when you see fit or when you feel like it. At the chat post game, when the survivors complain about how you play, YOU LAUGH AT THEM.
