Would A Struggle Macro Be Illegal?
Basically, I hate destroying my keyboard.
I just want to set 'struggle' when on a hook to..like..'i' (so nothing else uses it) and then just hold it down, so I don't wreck my keyboard.
Would this be against the rules? It's not giving me an edge in game in any way.

While the way BHVR has done the struggle mechanic is beyond dated and stupid - yes, macros are currently bannable. EAC can potentially detect them and the game EULA I believe mentions macros being blacklisted. Which is funny when you consider all the fog whisperers who use them.

I mean, it really shouldn’t, plus you really only get banned for messing with the game’s files, but don’t quote me on that. I guess it’s a VERY small risk with a slightly larger downside that MAY happen, but I wouldn’t think you’d be banned.

You could try setting your struggle button to the scroll wheel.

People HAVE been banned for certain macros.

That's what I did. Always get maximum struggle points, but destroy the mouse in the process.

meanwhile, all the survivors that still have flashlight macro

"All the survivors". You mean like, 15% of them.

I got an mouse with an unlockable scroll wheel
If I ever have to struggle I unlock it and grab the thing of compressed air next to me.
Now my keyboard won't suffer anymore :D

Eac doesn't care about wiggle and struggle macro. I'm using it and many fogwhisperes aswell. No need to be afraid, especially not if you use the software which came with your mouse and keyboard

People claim to have been banned for using Logitech software to use their macros.

regardless of EAC, if you read the EULA, its against that.

@Paladin_Goo A good friend of mine stopped playing almost a year ago because he got banned for using a macro for struggle. Still won't come back to the game so yes. You most definitely CAN get banned. Its just a matter of time when it decides to pick it up and report.

Question is, what was he using? AutoHotKey? His mouse/keyboard software? If so, which keyboard/mouse software?

You really don't need to press it very hard or fast, so your keyboard should be fine. It's just about maintaining a rhythm really. Try pressing it only as fast as is comfortable next time and you'll be surprised how slow it lets you go.
