Killer matchmaking is bad
Currently rank 10 killer on Xbox.
I get that Ghostface JUST came out so there might not be as big of a survivor pool to choose from.
But this has been a problem for me at all ranks (rank 10 up to rank 1) since the 2.6 update. It takes FOREVER to find a killer game. Anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes. Rank doesn't matter, it just takes a long time to find a game. It's to the point that I couldn't get to rank 1 last month because it just took too long to find games (I got to rank 3 with 2 or 3 pips). I even waited a whole week since the last reset to let the survivor pool for my rank bolster up a bit.
BHVR what are you going to do about this? I never had this problem before 2.6, I would ALWAYS find a game within a minute or 2 at most. Any time of day and any rank. Now I can't find a game at peak times.

THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE PATCH 2.6! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A NEW KILLER BEING RELEASED.

Uhh.. I'm a rank 10 killer on Xbox too, and I'm having the same issues as you.
I'm done playing this bullsht for today considering matchmaking is terrible, Ghostface is getting on my nerves, and I can't do sh*t as survivor. I keep getting killed and it's not worth playing.

I'm having the same problem on PC. Since a while it takes me an eternity to get a match, while once it took me seconds.

I am only Rank 17 Killer, because I dont play killer that much. But for a long while now, it's hard for me to find any matches as Killer, its mostly during early morning to early evening here in eastern United States. Dont really know why that is. They should just randomly select players, and forget about ranks. You win some, you lose some.

I also like to mention that I have an alternate account I play on for fun (where I let killers kill me and I let survivors escape), and even then, at rank 18-20 killer, it still takes forever. It's nothing to do with rank or time of day or how many survivors are/aren't playing. Killer matchmaking is flat out broken.

I will say that this past week Queues in general have seemed to be longer than usual. Not as bad as that one matchmaking change couple months ago, but I def feel the player base is NOT that low for it to take as long as it does...
Only plus side is that so far ~knocks on wood....stabs it instead~ that my games have been better matched than I often get

For the most part, I'm a red-purple rank killer on Xbox. In 2 hrs, I played 2 games. Games, on average, take 15-20 minutes.

I’m farming bps with survivors and leveling Ghostface. Easier than waiting 10 minutes for a game

I just recently managed to introduce one of my friends to the game. They love it, and instantly became a killermain, because killers are more powerful at low ranks. They are sitting at rank 17 right now.
However now the devs introduced their ######### matchmaking a few days ago, and now my rank 17 friend needs to wait 10-20mins on PC for the lobby to even open ... in central Europe during afternoon.
My friend switched to survivor, because the lobbby simulator is unbearable now.
How do the developers sell this matchmaking to newcomers?

I’m on PS4 at rank 9, and it used to take me a few seconds to find a Killer game. Now it takes anywhere from 2-6 minutes. It’s been like this ever since noon. Survivor matchmaking is very fast now. It takes me a few seconds to find a game.
What region are you in? I’m in PS4 NA on the East Coast.

Comes down to which country you live in what if everybody in America stopped playing what will happen. Rank 7 I get rank 20 killer and rank 17x3
Or a rank 1 killer don't do swf since they stopped playing.
I find rank 1 to 5 killers seem to camp more

I've noticed it as well. It takes about 10 mins to get a killer lobby. I just blare Slipknot through my Amazon Echo in the meantime 😊

Probably cause its 2x bloodpoints and everyone wants to get as much bloodpoints as possible so no one plays survivor

They definitely changed something with this patch. Its taking like 10 minutes just to get into a lobby as killer THEN you gotta wait more minutes for survivors to join. On Monday and any given day before that killer lobbies were always instant. I understand matchmaking might take longer with everyone playing ghost face but that does not explain the long delays in killers actually opening lobbies

When more people play killer, killer queue times are longer, when queue times are longer the pool of potential survivors you go against opens up, creating more disparity between ranks.

Same here it takes 5-10 minutes usually to find a match as killer when it used to take seconds. As survivor though I still get matches almost right away.

This issue has been happening on ps4 for me so now I know I'm not going insane

currently its just the release of a new killer (only the killer --> players who want to test the new content can only play killer) AND a 2x BP event at the same time (killers get more points --> everyone tries to play killer --> survivors have very short and killers have extremely long lobbie waiting time --> survivors make more points in the grand cheme of things, since they can play a lot more matches).
let the event end and the hype die down and the lobby times for killers should go back to normal... thats usually how it goes.
i do admit that high rank lobby times are horrible though. thats mainly due to the fact that not enough players are up there, since ranking up is very hard and there are no rewards for it, so no one really tries to get there.

This isn't something new because of a new killer. This has been happening for a while.

outside of this event, i had no problems at all, unless i ended up in red ranks (like i said).

No it's not. Maybe for some people that's what's happening, but this has been an issue for a lot of other players for months.
I only made this post now because I avoided playing killer for something like a week before reset and a week after reset only to still have problems.
I'm on east coast USA. No matter what rank I am (even on an alt account that is rank 19/20), no matter what time of day, for the last 3 months it takes me +10 minutes to find a killer game.
