Restore Legacy to Those Who Rightfully Earned It!
I'm bringing this up again because it is still an issue that has not be fixed even after nearly 3 years.
BHVR is fully aware of the file save bug that happened back around when Hag released, and many, many players had their progress reset. I was one of them. And yes, I was properly compensated 20 million Bloodpoints for losing my save.
However, Customer Service STILL insists that it is currently impossible to restore Legacy to players. Why? Why is it impossible when you can easily hack it in without getting banned?
If I wasn't genuine, I would simply hack it to restore it myself, but that is scummy and I don't wish to incur a permanent ban.
Here is a screenshot of proof of my Legacy 3 Meg (the Killer DC'd that match, so that's why the Rank looks weird), and another screenshot of my LEVEL 0 Meg, which isn't even possible unless the game glitches.
Even my Steam profile shows that I earned my P3 achievement before the cutoff date. Why will you not rectify this issue for your dedicated, longtime players that RIGHTFULLY earned this piece of Exclusive gear?

I agree, why should you be penalised and lose something due to a fault caused by BHVR, this is why people hacked it in, for the most part.

I think the real kicker here is, people who have earned legacy and lost it due to the buggy nature of this game have been permanently banned for altering their save to bring it back, and nothing more than than. Not hacking items, or bloodpoints. Just giving their legacy back because their save file borked or whatever happens to DBD. Yet, the answer BHVR gives always seems to be "we cannot do it at this time"...no, if people can hack it in, you guys sure as hell can restore it to people who earned it.
I don't have legacy personally, I didn't earn it; but give the people who did their cheeto dust back.

Yeah, i think Legacy players who lost their Legacy should be given it back, its stupid that your hard work was just thrown down the drain.

It simply isn't possible in logic.
You can't prove they had a specific cosmetic on a specific character unlocked. Without screenshots. However, what they can do is award ALL Legacy Items to Legacy Owners.
Ie Players that Unlocked Legacy Tier I would get all the Tier I Legacy Items. This way players that earned legacy benefit as well as those who lost. Nobody is gaining legacy items that doesn't deserve it which would be a fair handle. Then I would rightfully unban those accounts that tried getting their own legacy back since they shouldn't have been handled like that in the first place.

Actually you can. By the date of when the achievement was unlocked.

Incorrect. You have to Prestige 3 times in order to get full Legacy.
If I have my P3 achievement before the cutoff date, that means I EARNED my Prestige 3 Legacy, not just measly Tier 1.
The achievements are a great way to track who actually rightfully earned it. Of course, some people have hacked their cheevos, but I shouldn't be punished because of that. I lost my Legacy due to BHVR fault, not due to someone who hacked their Achievements.
I will agree with your sentiment that it would be easier just to award ALL Legacy owners the highest tier of Legacy for all their characters.

I lost mine, to be honest not too bothered by it, survivor skins literally makes you stands out more so you get chase more often
I prefer paid skin over legacy

This isn't going to stop me from continuing to bring it up, until they tell me it will never happen, or until they tell me they are giving it back.
I know the mods will read this. I tagged them. It's really on them to be the liaison between us and the devs.
If I get no dev or mod response, I'll take that as "still currently can't do it" to which I will simply bring the topic up again in a few months.
I refuse to let this issue die, especially when I spent 36 hours straight playing the last two days to get my Legacy.
BHVR owes me what I earned.

Not to be too much of an insult but you really can't read into things.
If you had P1 Achievement that simply means at that time you got At least ONE Character to a Prestige 1 that doesn't mean it was your meg. That is their current situation. Yes you got it before cut-off date. However, it doesn't mean it was on Meg. Although, I would trust by your screenshots that it indeed was meg. You have to understand the limitations of a Date. If each character had an achievement for prestige tiers this would be different. Then by cut-off date you would have been able to tell what legacy items to give back.
Ie: Was an Example in my previous post. Those who got Tier 1 Legacy should be rewarded all Tier 1 Items. If you thought about it just a bit you would have understood the logic would have followed Tier 2 to Tier 2 Legacy and Tier 3 to Tier 3 Legacy.
Also I know at several points the achievements were actually broken for Prestige similar to how Adepts and other achievements break per patch. So this is a rough estimated guess nothing more.

I prefer to wear standout clothing, and I want to be able to represent that I came from a very different time in DbD compared to most players.
Whether you actually use it or not doesn't matter. You rightfully earned it, so you deserve to have it restored. That extends to EVERYONE who earned it and lost it.
Also, I would maybe buy cosmetics IF I got my Legacy back. However, since BHVR refuses to fix this for me, I refuse to give them money.
It's a pretty simple exchange.

Oh no doubt, notice I agreed with you when you said that you would like Legacy restored for all characters if you achieved a certain level of Prestige. I think that's a fair trade.
The only players who lose out are ones who already had Legacy on every character, which is about maybe less than 10 people I would estimate.

Does that Tell you What Characters you got to which prestige level before as well?
Or does that achievement only give us that you did get ONE or more characters there by the deadline.

Like I said, I like your proposal. It makes the most sense and is easiest way to fix this issue, as not everyone will have screenshots of their Legacy.

However, I truly doubt there is anyone with ALL prestige 3 cosmetics across all characters.

@Jdsgames no, the achievements only show what prestige levels you earned bedore the deadline. lets say you got a trapper prestige weapon, then the steam achievemts would show that you achieved prestige 1 before the deadline. you are not able to tell on what character.

If you were compensated, I think that's admission that they can't get it back for you...

They made it clear when they initially compensated everyone that that could NOT restore Legacy at that time, which implies that they were planning to do it eventually at some point.
We were compensated Bloodpoints in order to put us back at the Levels we were at before our saves were lost, but that doesn't mean that our compensation is complete.
No where did they ever state "if you accept BP you can't get your Legacy back" and in same email I detail my lost progress was the one I also provided info about my Legacy.
I was never given a choice, I was simply told, "Can't do it at this time" and was given 20 million BP without a second thought.
It's been 3 years since then. Where is my Legacy they are meant to give back to me? My compensation isn't complete.

There were one or two on the forums. These people clocked well over 1000 hours before Legacy was even announced.

Unfortunately in typical behavior fashion, they make promises they can’t keep.
Im sure most of us recall them saying back when the issue started that they will give those legacies back. But as usual it’s only talk. Just like they wanted to Aid killers against swf. Just letting us down as usual. Keep in mind these are the devs that destroyed Freddy and fix him a decade later. So don’t get any hopes up.
but here have a Ghostfsce that’s underwhelming! And a DS that doesn’t get affected by enduring.

If you don't mind, I'd actually like to keep this discussion on the respectful side. Legacy is a delicate thing and while we rightfully deserve it, BHVR doesn't respond kindly to accusations, whether they be true or false.
Based on my most recent email about Legacy, they still say "not at this time." Not, "never." They have said they will "never bring it back" it terms of giving players another chance to earn it again.
But I agree that they need to be held accountable for their mistakes. This issue stems from poor coding that saved our files to our client, rather than a server. This made it so when Steam updated on Tuesdays, you had a high likelihood of losing everything. This is entirely BHVRs fault, as I was not even aware of the issue when it happened. I frequented the forums very often, and I don't recall seeing posts about savedata issues until after multiple people started losing it. By that time, it was too late. I think I was one of the first. I played nearly every day multiple hours. It wasn't until the day Hag was released that I lost my save. By that time, on the forums? It was too late.
It took them several months not only to compensate EVERYONE, but to even fix the issue in the first place, meaning that you had a chance to lose your data AGAIN even after being compensated. You basically just weren't allowed to play on Tuesday if you valued your save data.
And there are still many more players that don't use the forums that likely suffered from this, and looked away, never to come back. I was very close to doing that. But I actually love this game, I can never deny that. That's why I still play it even after this fiasco. I will never truly abandon this game, even during times of bad balance. I simply become a more vocal user.
Behavior. You owe it to the players that got this game off of the ground during the first 6 months that endured a terrible Bloodweb system. You owe it to the players that grinded for hours on end just to have this badge of honor to show our dedication. You simply owe us.

Yes I know many friends that don't have their legacy because of this, I actually know 2 that got banned for altering their save to get their legacy back I was lucky to get mine and keep it but others not so much.

I can acknowledge that the game is in a much better state for Killers than it was a few months ago.
This at least shows to me BHVR is starting to see the bigger picture, even if it has taken a while. Better late than never

I would like to point at in the F.A.Q. and Rules section, @Clyde has a thread posted up about what to do if you lose your save data. I dont think the issue is STILL happening, but they STILL haven't given us our Legacy back.
This is the same steps that was posted nearly 3 years ago. It also doesn't mention anywhere on that post that Legacy will NOT be restored upon compensation, in the event that you lose it.
Honestly, I don't understand why they can't do it. We provided our player IDs so they could edit our save and put in extra bloodpoints. For what reason are you guys not able to do the same with Legacy, especially when others can simply do it themselves? I honestly can't come up with a single reason.

Before the vault changes and window blockers were put in play, it indeed was an infinite.
Imagine a time where survivors could run along a wall and still fast vault - hell they could fast vault standing still. Imagine a time where they could be vacuumed to a window from a meter away. Remember we also had a time with no window blockers.
Those were from the "Dark Days" I keep referring to. When survivor cues were 15 minutes because only newbies and true masochists played killer.

So u assume I wasn't affected? Mate i made threads in the past asking for answers from @not_Queen and @Peanits but its radio silence. You ain't the only one affected so I have my thoughts as well. That's constructive feedback. So yea I can toss in my two cents since it's an open thread. Thanks, cuz this thread was something I first made when I joined this forums. Food for thought yea (Taps on arm) Also keep in mind that recent email is what I had since day 1 of the case. So, yea it should be never at this rate.

Also in conclusion to what we talked about earlier. To reward those who legitimately earned their entire loadouts of legacy. (All Characters) If you were to implement my method on the other page. You could give them a secondary Legacy Set (Maybe Blue instead of Orange)

Then the people who legitimately earned it before, but may not have screenshots, would be missing out on these blue variants.
That's still somewhat punishing to players who lost their save data, while giving everyone else a whole lot more.

I'm sorry you have to go through that, I don't know what I can do to help you besides tagging some wholesome people here. I'm friends with a lot of Moderators, so perhaps they might see this thread when I @ them.
