Killer Wait time on Xbox are insane.
Was some change applied not long before GF came out? I noticed this PRIOR to his release. I used to always get a lobby within seconds. Actually, if it took longer than 30 seconds that usually mean't something was wrong. Now I am waiting longer than 3-4 minutes to get put into one EVERY SINGLE time. It is the complete opposite as survivor? This is just to GET the lobby much less wait for it to fill.
I have been day 1 for every new killer since the Spirit and have never noticed it impact wait times to this level.

Not to mention encountering loser survivors who seem to be trolling this by backing out the second before the match loads.

Same problem on ps4, survivors will join and after the obnoxious wait time they'll leave to try to find a different game. I don't blame them for not wanting to wait another 20 minutes for another survivor though. It just sucks bc I'll end up waiting for sometimes 30+ minutes for a game.

I was waiting about 10 mins the last 2 days on Xbox.
I watched netflix while I waited.
I also was able to leave my house to get fast food and make it back before the match ended.

It does seem to depend on the time of day (at least for me), but yes, it's been worse of late because so many people are wanting to play as ghostface. It will even out.

This long waiting times are killing the rest of fun i had left (XBOX player)...Since double bloodpoints startet I had to wait for 5-10 mins for a match, and since ghostface was released its up to 15 min.
I played 3 matches as GF and was destroyed by Genrush...so how should I learn a new Killer when the survs just knock the gens out and I can´t get more than maybe one hook...NO, I don´t want to use ruin for every goddamn game, its soooo boring. I even startet to play survivor myself, cause I cant stand this ######### anymore. I wait for 10 min for a Game and after 3-6 mins its over LOL...Together that was ca 40 min waiting time and ca 15 min of actually playing...kind of...
Don´t bother me with Git Gud, I was Rank 1 often enough, but I don´t care anymore...Rank 9 at the moment and leaving it there, got no time for ranking up since the problems I mentioned above.
But, its good to see I´m not the only one :-)

This happened the last month before GF. I don't think it's the new killer that's the issue. I think it's just compounding it.

This was going on a good amount of time before GF. Xbox ALWAYS Had good wait times until they made that crappy change that showed the estimated time. When that got reverted everything was fine again. Now up until...I guess its possible its a month ago? A few weeks at least. Wait times randomly are AWFUL as killer.
Survivor doesn't seem affected.

I have a feeling my hunch is correct that some survivors are trolling this. The cancel match rate is so much higher than it usually is.
Can we please get that feature changed so it doesn't kick EVERYONE from the game? Why can't it return us together?

It could be because of the new matchmaking they are testing aswell as GF is actually pretty fun to play compared to Plague

There is no new Survivor. It’s only Ghostface this time, so more people are playing Killer. On PS4, I used to find games in a few seconds before he came out, but now it’s taking anywhere from 2-6 minutes.

NO. People need to stop saying this. Killer wait times have been a problem on Xbox for months now. Before 2.6 I never had a problem finding a game, at any rank or time of day. After 2.6, it takes upwards of 10 minutes to find a killer game. Rank doesn't matter either. I've had this problem at green ranks, purple ranks, even rank 1. I even made an alt account and played at rank 20 a little bit, still had long wait times.

This times a million. A bit annoying to get responses ignoring everything but the title. Clarifying...THEN getting more responses that ignore everything but the title. SOME type of change was made for sure as Xbox killer wait times suddenly took a big hit. The event and GF have only amplified them to unbearable levels.

Why would anyone play a survivor when killers make more points, have better perks, dont rely on up to 3 randoms to have a good game ?

Gonna assume since you post that much your at least out of gray ranks as survivor too right?
I play at rank 9 survivor and am also noticing ranking seems broken. I even see this as killer. There is no logic to who gets thrown together. Not SWF either. Seeing actual rank 20s get paired with me on a regular basis for the last week or so too.

I'm a rank 1 survivor. After the last reset, I got from rank 10 to rank 1 in less than 3 days playtime. I double pip almost every game. I have almost 2k escapes.
I can find a survivor game almost instantly. Even if I'm in a 4 man SWF with ranks all over the place, it takes less than a minute to find a game. Killer rank can vary wildly.

Yeah survivor wait times are fine like they always have been. I guess you can only be paired with rank 1s right?
Perhaps you wouldnt be affected them but there seems to be a huge variety of ranks in all my matches that make no sense.

Killer ranks vary. Most are purple or green ranks when I'm SWF. Sometimes a red rank.

Yay my first killer match of the day and someone cancels the match after a 5 minute wait to get into a lobby.
Imagine spending a Saturday intentionally wasting some strangers time that you will never see their reaction to. Life could always be worse you could BE that person....

Does anyone know of an actual change that was made? I mean if this is going to be how it is from now on out. I can't see myself staying too interested. It just takes too damn long to get a match.

Something was obviously changed and it's not working, at least on the killer side. I'm sure they are re trying the awful matchmaking they tried two months ago, the one that pairs rank 2 with 10 and 16, at the same time three man lobby bug is back on ps4 and it did disappear for a while.

What could be done to make it so the wait to CREATE the lobby isn't so long? It isn't like you wait forever to get the lobby then it fills in seconds. You still have to have THAT wait too.
Seriously something has to be done its 100% killing my interest in playing killer on Xbox anymore. It takes just WAY TOO LONG to get back into another match. If someone quits out I am going to end up waiting 10 minutes to play. This game is addicting but not that addicting. Seriously this is going to kill this game off slowly....

I booted up my intimidating rank 16 killer on sunday around 2pm pst and experienced this. It was my first time playing in 2+ weeks and i thought the game was dying. It felt too long for interest in GF alone to be responsible.
It felt a lot like what a survivor queue is like at 8pm on a weeknight. Hopefully it'll get looked at.

I do not bother so much in waiting for a match but in starting the match and the survivors finishing the generators in 1 or 2 minutes is ridiculous. I've watched lives and videos on YouTube that survivors finish off generators in nine seconds. That's ridiculous

I get they wanted to attempt speeding up the process. But they ended up slowing it all down. I think with a few quick changes in the right spots will greatly improve it.
I am taking a long break from the game. It is not because of this issue. I chose to do this for other reasons. Now back on topic, how are you suppose to make live streams?
I had to wait awhile even off live streams to do matches. Even as a survivor sometimes you have to wait. Thankfully it isn't as close as bad than on the killer's side.

Maybe it's simple... Maybe there are more killers playing then survivors. There could be one reason or many. Hard to say without actual numbers and statistics.

The change for me was abrupt. Since I started playing DBD on Xbox in late 2017 the wait times remained consistent for both roles until right before Ghost came out. Survivor the same....yet as killer a sudden several minute wait to get a lobby. ZERO exceptions to this. Really annoying. Especially if someone cancels the match...

What time zone are you in?
Yeah thats another thing. I used to play this game after 1am-5am Eastern time because I had weird hours. The waits were no different...not worse in any way. This was back when I never waited longer than 30 seconds to get a lobby.
Now I play at PRIME hours like 4pm-7pm range and the wait is huge. Something has been up for a looong time now.

Bringing this thread back from the dead again.
IDK what you guys did and I didn't want to say anything at first. But for the last 3 days or so my killer wait times are down from FIVE MINUTES to 30 seconds again. Whatever it was thank you!
Also curious if anyone else is seeing way better times.
I'm fully aware this post will cause me to get TEN minute wait times. Knocks on wood. Breaks knuckles on wood. Eats wood. Eats a pallet. Builds a pallet.

Rank 1 on xbox takes me 15-45 seconds to make a lobby, remember location and internet play a big role in time.

Killer times are painful on Xbox- not to mention; I just hit rank 10 the other day and the sweating is real- I hate that being ok at the game puts you against the sweatys- where are the average players like myself at these ranks? =c Xx
