Licenses are complicated
We all should be thankful to devs for everything they do to get licenses for killers, survivors and skins for them. Until now (Third Year - Anniversary as I'm writing this post) we got into our game so many iconic characters such as:
-Michael Myers and Lori Strode from 1978 classic Halloween movie
-William Bill Overbeck from Left 4 Dead
-Leatherface from 1974 classic Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie
-Amanda Young (The Pig) and Detective David Tapp from Saw franchise
-Ashley J. Williams from Ash vs Evil Dead TV series
-Freddy Krueger and Quentin Smith from Nightmare on Elm Street Reboot from 2010 *
-Ghost Face from.. well not from any of Scream movies but it's just the iconic mask *
About those ,, * ''. Well I know that maybe this is not what we all expected but that's how it is. I'm personally a big Ghostface fan and I've sees every Scream movie many times. It was Ghostface that started my love to horror movies and later to Dead by Daylight. I'm kinda sad that we didn't get Sidney Prescott and for example Billy Loomis as Ghostface etc. I'm sure many people feel the same way. I believe that devs did everything they could do to get Scream license and give us the Ghostface we all dreamed about with Sideny etc. Same thing with Freddy. I've read somewhere that they couldn't get license for Freddy and Nancy from horror classic Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and also they didn't wanted to use Nancy from Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) (because Quentin was more of a main protagonist there and that's why he is a survivor) Anyway it's not devs fault that license owners for Freddy and Nancy from Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and Scream movies license owners didn't wanna cooperate. We should be happy for what we have. ,,Beggars can't be choosers''. Maybe one day when DBD will become more and more popular game, license owners for example for original Freddy will want to cooperate (for example changing Freddy's look to make him look like the original one and it will be like some sort of crossover Survivor from 2010 reboot and Killer form 1984 classic) Anyway I'm glad that some license owners for classic horror movies and franchises do cooperate with Behaviour, like for example Lionsgate that allowed Devs to create 2 skins for Tapp and Pig that will be comming soon. Interesting is that Netflix is now cooperating with Behavior (maybe Stranger Things Chapter soon?) Let's all be glad for what we already have and what we can have :)

I hope to see Chucky one day (he would be same size as crouching Pig and crouching Ghostface)

I'm a killer main too and I like licensed killers a little bit more then the original ones, but i still love them too. In my opinion Huntress is the best original killer. Her design and her backstory are just amazing.

I'm going to be brutally honest...if it weren't for the licensed movie killers, I would never have gotten this game. As a life long Michael Myers Halloween fan, when they added him along with Laurie and Haddonfield from the 1978 film, I HAD to have it. They TOTALLY nailed it too, with the music and his power. After that, I always felt that Freddy would have been a great killer for the game's style and lore, and one day, they announced they were adding him too. It was around that time that I realized they had already added my favorite movie killer Myers, but not my second favorite...Scream's Ghostface. I knew that if they ever added him, my life would be complete.
Just to have a game like this that actually let you play as and against my 2 all time favorite horror movie killers in the same game just seemed like a dream that would never come true, as I honestly never felt Ghostface would be a good fit for the lore. 2 years later, here we are, and, for the most part, they have finally added him as well. Sure he may not necessarily be from the films per se, but you can tell they really tried to put as many nods and references to the films as possible like the Buck 120 knife, hooded robe, the mori animation, the blade wipe, and even his back story (sort of).

The reason for not getting Billy/Stu and Sydney is because the Ghost Face mask in the movie was already licensed for the movie. During preproduction either Craven or one of his crew had found the mask at a costume store and decided it would be perfect for the Killer. Craven worked on getting the license for the mask while also creating a similar mask for the movie in case they couldn't get the rights to it.
The mask has always been owned by Fun World, and it probably would have been prohibitively expensive to license both the mask and the characters. So it really plays more now into the mythos of the mask within the Scream universe in that the mask and costume are cheap Halloween costumes that could be bought anywhere, and even within the movies themselves, the costume is everywhere, so it's not too much of a stretch to connect The Ghost Face to the Scream Franchise while also keeping it an original character at the same time.
With regards to getting Englund Freddy, just like with Jason, the rights are in a lot of different hands, and it would be licensing hell to get a hold of him, while New Freddy is clearly owned by New Line.
I'm personally happy with what we have gotten with regards to licenses, though i would love to see some more expansion to the characters we have in terms of cosmetics, like we are getting with The Pig. If we could get Halloween 2 Michael, or Halloween (2018) Michael that would be awesome, as well as getting more outfits and faces for Leatherface. I would love to see all the Behavior owned characters get faces for him, just imagine Leatherface having Jeff's metal face. I would also love to see Bubba's "Pretty Lady" outfit, the suit with the lady's face.
But all in all, I feel we have definitely gotten great deals with regards to the killers and survivors we have gotten.
Here's to hoping for another great licensed or original killer, and if we can get a licensed killer, I'm personally hoping for Candyman or maybe Jack Torrance. Getting Jack would be great because The Overlook could be a great map to have for another good indoor map, though it may be too much like Mount Ormund.

I forgot about one thing. It's obvious thing that license for 2010 reboot Freddy was cheaper than for the original Freddy. Is it good for the game? I don't think so, but i also understand devs. They need money to live like everyone else. If you don't know what's it about, it's about money xD

Have you tried getting Candyman? Or Bloody Mary?....one of the Mirror-based killers?....that would be awesome...to have the killer disappear and come out of the mirrors on the map. Slenderman would be another good one. He can come out of the trees.

kinda sad how all licensed killers are low/mid tier

I'm curious why Bill from L4D is PC only. Is there any real reason for it?

@JordanMalicious The license holders that own Bill (Called valve), won't allow bill on consoles as he's a steam exclusive even though both L4D games are on the xbox 360. It confuses me honestly

Michael is my personal favorite killer. He embodies some of the true horror and suspense of this game.
