My internet is bad and i feel bad about it

When i play killer i usually see the survivors have green or yellow ping but when i get in game and start chasing people they lag all over the place. By the way when i test my internet i usually get around 40-60 Mbps which I'm pretty sure is a fast connection.

When this first started happening I thought it might just be the survivors connection but this started happening more often and in the end game screen they tell me how bad my internet is and how they are reporting me. Also lots of times people have started disconnecting from my game due to the lag and it makes me feel bad because there's not much i can do about it other than stop playing killer but i feel like i shouldn't be restricted from half of the game because my internet connection to the survivors isn't the best.

I decided to make this post for 2 reasons:

  1. To ask if anyone has a solution to a problem such as mine
  2. To ask if anything bad will happen such as the developers thinking I'm lag switching when i just have a bad connection

    What is your upload speed? that is more relevant when people connect to you.

    I would conact your ISP as your speed may be fine but you latency/noise on the line may not be, its worth while trying to get it sorted now as when dedicated servers come you may have more issues.

    Which platform are you on? If it is PC, i don't know how to help...sorry. If its PS4 you could invest in a lan cable. That's what i use, if i didn't i would be lagging all of the time.

    An ethernet cable will always be more reliable than Wi-Fi.

    So Elk suggestion is valid for PC too if you're using Wi-Fi to play. Other than that most of the time it's an issue that needs to be brought up with your ISP.
