Thanatophobia rework idea
I believe this perk had never been viable except for low ranks and recent nerf during legion patches just made it even more useless. This is a rework idea to make it a bit more rewarding, help with gen pressure etc and also to make sure it doesn't become broken on certain killers. Let's discuss.
- Injured survivor alone receives a fixed 10% penalty for actions other than healing/mending.
- For every 30 Seconds that passes while being injured, the penalty keeps increasing by 3%.
- Any other survivor within 8m of an injured survivor receives the exact penalty being endured by the injured survivor.
- Healing back to full health completely removes the penalties.
This could force the survivors to heal thereby delaying the game and also act as a direct counter to resilience. What do you think?

Could you try to put that in a Perk setting? Like take Thanatophobia's description and try replace it with what you just said.

Would this perk continue to accumulate an action penalty while on the hook?

Good point. For balance purpose I feel that being in dying state or hooked should pause the penalty accumulation.

Fair enough. I think its slightly flawed in that if another survivor does happen to be within 8m although they will be affected they can also heal up the injured one really quickly.

Tbh, if I remember correctly they didn't nerf it technically. I believe they actually buffed it, during one of the live streams, I forgot which one but they explained that the overall amount is increased

that's kind of the idea though, to force survivors to heal. If you are aware of high rank games, no one bothers to heal since there is no effective penalty. This should change that and help killers by delaying the game considering ruin is a joke against good survivors.

Yes but it seems that it intends to punish survivors in close proximity but that the solution for survivors (healing) is also aided by this. Doesn't work for me.

If you don't think forcing survivors to heal helps in prolonging the game, I don't know what to say to you. Either you are new to the game or doesn't play killer at high ranks? Also remember, you got 3 other slots. You can always include sloppy butcher to slow down healing as well. I get your point though, to each their own play style I guess.

TBH, I haven't thought about all the edge cases but I believe it shouldn't be too hard. As mentioned in another comment, while in dying; hooked; or broken state the penalty accumulation should be paused I suppose. Feel free to suggest.

I already think this perk is annoying enough because it slows down so much I couldnt imagine it any slower.
A survivor not healing means they are risking getting downed in one hit. So in essence the perk is also in a way forcing survivors to choose between being in a safe health state or vunerable.

Just make similar way to coulrophobia thanatophobia no longer slow down while youre healing/mending
1 survivor hooked, downed, injured or dead: 20% penalty repair speed
2 survivor hooked, downed, injured or dead:35% penalty repair speed
3 survivors hooked, downed, injured or dead: 40% penalty repair speed
4 survivors hooked, downed, injured or dead: 50% penalty repair speed
This perk wont stack dying light

Just increase the numbers and make dead survivors count for half effect .
Thana got nerfed bexause stacking it with sloppy and selfcare would make healing 'tooo slow". Selfcare would by the way provide more penalty than both killer perks combined,with thana having 4 stacks. It wouldve been a slight anti selfcare strategy to use them.
