In my personal experience its killer simply because its a lot more stress and being able to read all survivors can be challenging

killer and solo survivor are hard in different ways and it's hard to compare

the thing about killer is that how hard or easy it is is contingent on your opponents (and the map to a lesser extent; bad survivors on a strong map will still lose), whereas with solo survivor you not only have to worry about how good the killer is, but also how good your teammates are. a competent solo survivor with bad teammates will still die to a bad killer

Why are people downvoting on someone elses' opinion on which is harder? That is pretty stupid XD I don't like your opinion so I'm gonna downvote your response. Like what? Someone asked a question. This isn't something about balance and such. I believe killer is the hardest due to time constraint and a number of factors then solo survivor because of ######### teammates and the killer can be a bit of an ######### sometimes but SWFs shouldn't even be a part of the question. That's like asking, which is faster? A cat, a dog or a cheetah? Hmmmm.. XD

Idk, people are still spicy on survivor vs killer war! XD

Personally, actually a tie between solo and SWF.Solo is obvious, SWF, I get stressed on trying to be useful, so I usually panic and become overly altruistic and die early often. I can only think of a few times where my team survived or I did majority of work.

Solo survivor would say is a lot more stressful simply because you have the hope your teammates aren't absolute potatoes.

Which is understandable potatoes can practically screw you over and lead to you losing even though I find it annoying it's just kind of what happens.

There's not much you can do to help that situation if you give solo survivors too much of a boost after their teammates potatoed then that unfair to the killer as they did effectively take down the survivor to him and it's hard to claw back as a solo survivor if your team gets flattened

Killer. It's not even subjective. Any other answer is literally incorrect.

    It depends on the rank.

At low ranks, solo survivor is harder. The higher you rank up as survivor, the easier it gets.

On low ranks, killer is easier. But the higher you rank up as killer, the harder and mentally exhausting it gets.

  • Paladin_Goo
    Paladin_Goo Member Posts: 287

That's all pretty debatable these days when you take a look at all the survivors and killers smurfing it up with alternate accounts at brown and yellow ranks. Or even just intentionally deranking that low.

  • Tsulan
    Tsulan Member Posts: 15,095

@paladin_goo not really, survivors still play like potatoes on low to mid ranks. Especially during the free weekend. There might be some people that go around the rank system to ruin the other peoples fun. But they are not the majority.

Solo survivor. You can get the most potato team mates.

In a SWF, the game can get really easy and you or your friend(s) can get easily carried away and still escape because of that communication and teamwork. I'm not going to say who's harder and who's easier but solo and killer are both pretty challenging. SWF totally merks a killers life while, contrary to solo though, it's a gamble with teammates.

Solo survivor. Even if everyone escapes when I'm playing killer, I'll still get a lot of Bloodpoints for chasing, hooks, etc.

As a survivor, when you have ######### Teammates you gonna get rolled over and ending with frustration and maybe 10k Bp

I think a lot of people did it for the double BP event because even though purple ranks had some tough matches it felt like a break after climbing out of the green this rank reset. Really red ranks has been easier than green was overall too. I've never had that much back to back SWF top tier item intense action before in the greens. My last game actually had someone in it with the handle "Chase Me Instead" that set under a hook and killed them self right away.

    Without any doubt killer.

Playin both roles at red ranks (maining killler), solo survivor can be annoying cause of the mates, u can get mates playing suboptimal.

But killer IS stress from the first second till the end.

Comparing both roles, i m able to talk to chat while playin survivor, except when chased, i m most times not really to do so when i m playing as killer.

I cursed myself with that last post and have had 3 gens going off during the first chase for the last two games. They need to give GF a bicycle add-on or something. Let's talk about fun fun fun..........

Whether killer is hard or not is entirely dependent on the quality of survivors you are facing. Whether playing survivor is hard or not is entirely dependent on the quality of survivors you are facing.

Killer, especially if you play nurse. She's the most stressful killer to play because you have to be so precise if you want to win. The others are a joke in comparison.

  • BunnyTheHutt
    BunnyTheHutt Member Posts: 1,773

lol no, once you get good with nurse, she's a cake walk against most survivors. you have this opposite of the truth, playing any other killer that isn't nurse is incredibly stressful since survivors are just so damn strong.

after adapt all roles i rather ask which role is harder to success

    i personally order

    wm1 killers are hardest

survivor is easier than wm1 (in korea 90% solo players and they destroy wm1 killers whatever they equip)

nurse is more easier than survivor

most easy role is swf, personally i did very few of swf but felt same as nurse

    Mid ranks: solo, killer, swf

    Red rank: killer, solo, swf

Red ranks turn into mid ranks couple weeks after rank reset when all the boosted survivors reach red ranks and you cant count on your team mates anymore.

Killer is harder in my opinion

I pretty much never play SWF so I always go solo survivor, it's much more chill for me, depending on the day I can be a potato or a really good survivor but in general I am at least decent

Killer is definitely harder. Even though playing solo survivor and watching myself move to the struggle state on the hook while my teammates are just putzing around the map, i still think it's less stressful than killer.

  • Redd
    Redd Member Posts: 833

Survivors have to be good at 3 things:

    1. Work through Ruin.
    2. Loop pallets.
    3. Paying attention to your surroundings in the case the killer shows up.

Solo survivor is definitely frustrating when you have bad teammates, but there is a difference between hard and frustrating.

    ------------

The killer role requires significantly greater time management skills. And as survivor it's only "hard" when the killer is near you. So if you watch Twitch streamers, the high rank survivors can still afford to mess around a little, make some mistakes, talk to chat while doing a generator, etc. Someone playing killer without op add-ons doesn't have time for any of that crap; because if they make just a few small mistakes they'll lose the game and they have to be always "on".

Tell that to the amount of people with 1000+ hours playing between rank 13 to 20.

This discussion isn't about how many bloodpoints you get. It's about winning. It is harder to win, period, as a killer. No question.

Yes,going against moris as a solo surv is such an enjoyable experience.

  • Paladin_Goo
    Paladin_Goo Member Posts: 287

This is a discussion about which is more difficult. Not which is more enjoyable. It is EASY to avoid being mori'd as a survivor. Even as a solo. Just don't get caught. Unless it's a nurse, cause the nurse is bullshit, but I digress.

Killer are more harder for playing.

Clearly, playing only has its difficulty, but having defenses on the map, hiding you have no complications. Instead, the killers must endure the rush of gens, defend the gens, find people who hide, make chases and reach them and try to catch them before you repair the 5 gens. Do not think that I am accusing the survivor, but the survivor has everything very easy compared to the killer.

To put it into perspective - a survivor can win, which in this game is defined as a pip, even when they don't survive the trial. EVEN at red ranks. A killer on the other hand, especially at purple and red ranks, can hook every survivor multiple times, and kill all of them,...and STILL not pip. EVEN IF ALL 5 GENS ARE STILL NOT DONE. I still think sacrificing all the survivors in a trial should result in an automatic pip. By killing them all you have completely fulfilled your only objective as killer.

I'll clarify things more, an experienced killer if he plays silly and useless players as they all will die, if the experienced killer is touched by experienced survivors, the killer could withdraw from the game.

Yellow rank solo survivor. Your team applies more pressure than the killer.

3k hours mostly 50/50 with some killer main phases. Imo it goes like this (hardest to easiest):

    - Solo survivor: You can play like a god and the killer can still kill you even if he's trash at the game. Typical scenario whenever I play survivor: I get chased for a decent amount of time and during the chase I see my team mates crouching around the map because they're too bad to do gens with ruin. Most of the time they waste minutes searching for ruin which makes my chases completely meaningless no matter how long I run the killer.

    - Killer: If you know the maps and their variations, basic mindgames and run a decent perk build you can dominate at least 80% of all games you play even with a mid tier killer.

    - SWF: The game was never balanced around survivors with voice communication. SWF = the power of information which can save a lot of time and help with decisions ("you stay on the gen while I'm going for the unhook" to name a sample) which is a major factor is dbd.

I think the better question is which is more frustrating.

Both are easy in the right hands and both are hard in the wrong hands it's a matter of perspective and how good you are at the game.

What it comes down too a lot of the time is how good you are compared to how good you think you are.

For me killer is harder as I have no down time and need to put out constant pressure which is more stressful so in turn I make more mistakes. Where as survivor I can relax in between chases and idly sit on a gen pressing M1watching and listening so my stress levels go down and I play better.

I'm going to get a lot of hate from my fellow killer mains, but...

Solo survivor is the hardest, then killer, then SWF.

If the player pool wasn't filled with so many boosted survivors, then I would say killer is the hardest. But considering it's basically impossible to get all the gens done with a boosted team, solo survivor is the hardest.

At least with killer I can play Nurse and clean house.

    DenimChicken Member Posts: 114

Solo survivor in yellow because every match someone DC or suicides. Blows up the Gen you were on, let you die on first hook, runs and hide the whole match instead of doing a Gen etc

You gotta do everything you can to pip before your team screws you over.

(Trying to post this took about as long as a killer lobby to load)
