Proper Legion design
It is been a lot of threads about Legion, their gimpness, useless power and overall bad design.
I want to discuss Legion as I see they should be designed according to how they were seen in cinematics beeing blending into survivors team Killers.
Overview
A band of merciless Killers, able to disguise themselves as friends and attack Survivors on the sly with their power, Feral Frenzy. Attacks made during frenzy inflict lingering internal damage, downing any Survivors that are not quick enough to react.
primary Power: Feral frenzy
The Legion has a Frenzy power gauge that builds up over time. The power, Feral Frenzy, can be activated by tapping the Power button or by entering Disguise mode. While active, the power gauge drains rapidly and the power ends when the gauge is empty, triggering an extended recovery cool-down.
Secondary power: Disguise
By using secondary power The Legion transforms into random Survivor, copying one of the Survivors from trial, excluding item. The Legion keeps their weapon in hand visible. Upon transformation Survivors hear distant giggle (for female Legion) or light laughter (for male Legion). Terror Radius of Disguised Legion is always heard for Survivor as is beeing at the edge of TR despite of distance from Legion.
While in Disguise The Legion moves at base movement speed, can't break Pallets and can't attack Survivors with basic M1 attack, has standart Terror Radius, Red Stain is hidden.
Disguise mode has 30 seconds cooldown after revealing The Legion true form.
Powers mechanics
When the power active and not in Disguise mode:
- The Legion sprints faster than base movement speed
- The Legion can vault Pallets, but can't break them
- Survivor's scratchmarks and Blood pools are hidden from view
- Missing attack depletes 50% of remaining power duration, second missed attack ends Feral Frenzy
When the Disguise mode is active:
- The Legion moves at base movement speed
- Feral Frenzy is on and has unlimited duration during Disguise mode
- The Legion can vault Pallets, but can't break them
- Survivor's scratchmarks and Blood pools are hidden from view
- The Legion can attack only with Feral Frenzy power
- Landed attack reveals The Legion from Disguise
- Missed attack reveals The Legion from Disguise and ends Feral Frenzy
While Feral Frenzy is active and not in Disguise mode, hitting Survivor who is not in Deep Wounds status:
- Applies Deep Wounds status effect
- Refills Feral Frenzy duration bar
- Activates Killer Instinct revealing all Survivors who do not have Deep Wounds status effect at the range of 50 meters
While Feral Frenzy is active and in Disguise mode, hitting Survivor who is not in Deep Wounds status:
- Applies Deep Wounds status effect
- Reveals The Legion true form
- Loses unlimited duration and refills duration bar
- Activates Killer Instinct revealing all Survivors who do not have Deep Wounds status effect at the range of 50 meters
While Feral Frenzy is active hitting Survivor who is in Deep Wounds status:
- Ends Feral Frenzy with shortened to 1 second cooldown if Survivor is Healthy
- Ends Feral Frenzy with shortened to 2 seconds cooldown if Survivor is Injured
- Reveals The Legion from Disguise if mode was active
Hitting Survivor with basic M1 attack depletes power bar for 50% of maximum.
Power trivia
- Default duration of Feral Frenzy while not in Disguise - 10 seconds
- Default total Frenzy charge time - 20 seconds
- Default post-Frenzy cooldown - 4 seconds
- Default mending time - 12 seconds
- Default Pallet vault speed - 1.2 seconds
- Default Window vault speed - 1.1 seconds
- Default movement speed during Feral Frenzy - 5.0 meters/second
Deep wounds mechanics
The Survivor is on bleed-out timer until healed or mend
Deep Wounds timer is 30 seconds for Healthy Survivor and 15 seconds for Injured Survivor
Deep Wounds applied to Healthy Survivor:
- Do not puts Survivor in Injured state upon hit
- Survivor becomes Injured after healing/mending action
- Survivor is put in Dying state when timer expires
- Deep Wounds timer is on pause while in Terror Radius or during Mend/healing
Deep Wounds applied to Injured Survivor
- Deep Wounds timer is NOT on pause while in Terror Radius, but on pause during Mend/healing
- Survivor is put in Dying state when timer expires

FF doesn't injure but applies deep wounds. It has a 1 second fatigue when you hit someone healthy and in deep wounds. So idea here is that you apply deep wounds, hit them normally, and then moonwalk them? Did i read this correctly or is there something else i should know?

You read this incorrectly. Read again.
Once you hit healthy Survivor you apply DW status, but he is still Healthy.
You reach him again, hit with FF, he gains another sprint burst while you have 1 second cooldown. He is still Healthy, but in DW. If you M1 hit - he will be injured, but DW status is lost. He gains sprint burst, you have wiping animation, your FF is depleted.
You reach injured and hit him with FF, he will go down in 15 seconds if they dont Mend no matter if they are in TR or not. If you hit him again in DW you suffer from 2 seconds cooldown and they have burst speed, you can continue to chase him and wait till timer expires or try to M1 him earlier to cut the time.
I've explained how it works in other thread already.
Such mechanics aimed to apply stalling by forcing Survivors to heal after beeing injured, cause DW status is lethal if you are.

So when they complete mend action in healthy state they go injured? But when they are injured you can down them by letting the timer go down?

Exactly.

I LIKE it. Nice job. However disguise mechanic can be countered by SWF. But that is SWF problem. You should also think about changing the FF ms so that it can chain attacks.

A lot of stuff can be countered by SWF, but having no Red Stain, distant TR and base movement speed is already a lot to land a hit.
If MS of Frenzy will be higher, it will provide too easy hits, since DW is lethal it is overkill.

You have spent a lot of effort in your idea, but I am still not sure.
What me makes unsure is the disguse mechanic as first.
I assume that would be a very fun making mechanic, but this mechanic is already so strong, that it would justify a new killer.
Or better new killers - if we think on the tons of movies that have appearance changing killers in it.
And the secound is more a minor reason, just because of my own taste. I would like to have the penalties for a missing hit go away. But this point you can ignore, its just my taste - nothing more.
At the end I can only say, that you have great ideas, but I am not sure how they would work in the game, if one killer can do all those things.
I guess, we would need first to see a Legion like this on a ptb.

I didnt expect more from you, no arguments, no analytics, just mindless no
That's my vision of Legion based on cinematics they were presented with. When Frank is running with David while David has no idea that Frank is Killer. Disguising himself as friend to land stealthy hit.
Even if cut all Disguise portion, Frenzy rework should be done as I described. Atm Legion power is very very limited, ppl just stay injured and loop him as basic M1 Killer, if Legion tries to spread love with FF, most of times it is just 1 survivor, rarely more, cause ppl tend to stay apart. Plus his FF is easily outruned.
When his FF will be lethal for injured, ppl will start to heal to healthy status and stall game, which was one of primary goals of power, 50 meters of Killer Instinct allow to find more Survivors while Injured one will spend 12 seconds for Mend and 16-32 seconds to heal.
I do understand why you want to remove missing hit penalty, to have feeling of bloodcrazed teen who swings knife in frenzy, blinded by bloodthirst. But, when FF is lethal having so much chances to land a hit is an overkill.
There is a solution though, remove lunge from FF attacks completely, and apply some slowdown after missed attack, survivors should have some sort of payback if they juked Legion and made him miss, so they can gain a bit of distance.

Well, I haven't found it in your description, but I guess you still give survivors the sprint boost after a hit in frenzy, right?
That is already a help for survivors, if they not running straight forward the whole time. But to remove lunge from frenzy would also be a interesting idea and yes, you are right with the bloodthirsty part :).
I wouldn't btw. surprised if 1 day a chameleon killer comes into dbd with your disguise mechanic - just then without the frenzy ability. Imo dbd needs some new killer-archtypes and appearance changing killers would be some^^.
