As an average player, ghost face is extremely frustrating to play against

For an average player like myself, who cannot loop a killer for 40 seconds without taking a hit. Ghostface is extremely frustrating to play against.

Not because he exposes you, it's how he does it. The fact that he can just stare at you WHILE you stare at him and be exposed feels bad as a survivor. There's the occasional expose without you even knowing he was nearby, those are fun and quite exciting. Not at all sad that I just got downed.

However in scenarios where the ghost face is coming at me full frontal, with me looking at him in the face while he's "stalking me". And somehow it doesn't seem to break him and he fully exposes me. It makes the survivor experience vs him extremely frustrating and feels as if there's no counter play.

Obviously skilled survivors can run out the timer, by simply looping him. But I'm not that good, neither is my friends. We like to have a casual game once a while, but it would always end in frustration against every ghost face match.


I'm not here asking for a change, I'm just here to voice my player feedback on an average player's experience vs ghost face. And I would love to hear your thoughts as well.

    Does leaning changes the amount of time it takes to stare at him to break him?

    Leaning makes it harder to break him because there won't be enough of him visible from that side to be able to trigger the interaction. You have to sneak up on a leaning ghostface from the back or side to reveal them in most cases.

    He stalks you A LOT faster when his is leaning. I think it's approximately 1 second for him to expose you while he's leaning, assuming you have no stalk progress on you.

    It takes you 1.5 seconds to break him out of his stealth plus an additional 0.3 second buffer, which totals to 1.8 seconds.

    Ghostface can be looped and he's just a worse t3 Myers at that point. Keep practicing looping and you can beat every killer not named hag, spirit and nurse lmao

    @Bbbrian2013 That I believe. XD Michael's stalking is just so much better; Ghostface feels so inconsistent.

    Well , it's also frustrating to play against swf with voice chat who follow you around with OoO and don't even let you use your power which makes you an m1 killer for the whole game.

    Number 2 is correct ONLY if he didn't stalk you before , which he could do and you wouldn't even know since you can't know how much stalk meter he filled on you until you are exposed. He can 99% you and the pop it at the right moment and you staring at him when he does that won't be fast enough.

    I think the minimum amount of him you need to see is 20% of his body to break him out.

    I agree with this post, I main killer and I am not very good as a survivor (nor killer for that matter) But I still have more than 300 hours as a survivor and 500 as a killer.

    Ghostface is pretty annoying, his one hit down is the equivalent of a simple m1 chase and breaking him out of NS is NOT consistent at all.

    Sometimes you get the sound notification with the camera on the side, sometimes in front of you.

    I own ghostface before someone says something, like I own everychapter/char in dbd, and I think ghostface needs a bit of work because he is frustrating to verse

    @NMCKE Base stalk time needed to expose a survivor is 5 seconds and leaning cuts that in half.

    People KNOW that the expose meter is saved until you get hit right?

    That means that if he stalked you before and got good progress, he can finish the meter before you break him out.

    The breaking him out of stealth by looking at him mechanic is dumb though, ya, it needs to be affected by distance, so that you can reveal him easily if hes next to you.

    I hardly ever stalk w gf. I just use shroud to patrol gens and get easy grabs. I also won't fall for loops. I'll just crouch once I'm outta line of sight, hit shroud, and mind game your ass, or go back to gen patrolling. I've been doing really well with this strategy and theirs not much counter play, because you never know where I am. I literally try to be a ghost.

    get good. this game mustn`t be noob-friendly, as there would be no point in playing it, because nothing would depend on your skill

    I had a bug before the hotfix where I ran a ghostiface who insta-stalked me at the same time as I pulled him out of stealth (at the start of the game, so there wasn;';t any progress already) I ran him for 2 minutes while exposed and the timer didn't go down properly so he still got to one shot me. No idea if that can still happen under specific circumstances, but that was incredibly frustrating.


    As well as this, he promotes camping and revealing him is buggy as hell, especially with the buffer change since he can abuse that while leaning and all the survivor can do is RUN because he keeps all stalk progress until he hits you. It just doesn't feel well thought out at all.

    I feel like its such a catch 22. As Ghostface you want to be stealthy and not be revealed easily, as you are a regular 32 meter TR killer otherwise...with the only option being M1'ing as well.

    As a survivor, when you know there's a Reveal mechanic, you want to make use of it. When you spot him and it doesn't start the reveal, or he consistently ducks when spotted until you're exposed, its not a good feeling.

    As a person that's played both, i can see from both sides.

    Personally, i just run when i see Ghostface. staring at him while im running away, as it's what i'd do against Myers either way. Relying on a inconsistent mechanic to save you from the Exposed status isn't worth it.

    As Ghostface myself, i just enjoy the concept of stealth, i much prefer trying to grab people off gens or stab them from up close while they're unaware to the act of The Staring Contest

    Ya he used to be able to stalk you more in a chase. That was incredibly frustrating, particularly when the area to reveal him was smaller.

    I seriously hope they are not done working on him.
