Killer campers?
Hello there people, how are you today?
I see many people hate when they are camped by killers and sometimes its going on my nerves too when I play as survivor, but most of the time I play as a killer and its not nice just to camp survivors.
They should add something that if KILLER is camping a survivor, then survivors health is PAUSED, that can make him go away from hooked survivor... or if the KILLER is more than 10 seconds near hooked survivor, then other survivors gets something to finish generators much much faster, then the killer will move his fat thing(ass) away from hooked survivor.
Survivors cant camp or stay in place for too long because of yelling crows xD
What do you think? Give some good ideas.

devs have tested things like this and stated that survivors abused it even during testing and "they camped the hooks to stop killer from being able to do anything"
sorry but survivors camp hooks as much as killers, according to devs tests.

Do you have any idea how often this suggestion comes up? Often. Very, very often. So often, in fact, that it was already tried and proven to be a failure.
If you want to mitigate camping, then stop thinking about punishments for staying near the hook and start thinking about rewards for leaving it.

Survivors can already finish gens fast. Any tool that punishes a killer for camping can and will be exploited by survivors to bully the killer.

Survivor health progress is already slowed down if killer is in a certain range. Stopping it just gets abused by survivors who are more likely to hook camp than the killer. What BHVR should actually do is make the 8 meter killer aura reveal from Kindred baseline and then rework Kindred to where the hooked survivor gets a percentage of objective points from all generator repairs while on the hook, and all other survivors get 15/20/25% faster gen repair speed while the killer is in 8 meters of a survivor hooked using Kindred.

To my knowledge that first bit is false. Survivor health goes down at a steady rate regardless of killer proximity.

Survivors can camp, and they already do.

Umm, to be fair, if you are a killer and baiting someone on a hook and camping, especially with leatherface, it IS a viable strategy. I'm tired of this BS rule book killers have to play by, but survivors get to be as toxic as they want, and it's ok. It's just good gameplay right? No. We already get penalized for being around a hooked survivor, even when the other 3 are camping the same hook. Now how does that make sense? When I play killer, that's what I do. Down you, hook you, and repeat as fast and easy as possible. Also, gen rushing counters camping everytime. Quit trying to always be the hero and just survive.

How do you define camping a hook? I know many survivor will define camping as "we ran right at the killer and the hook and didn't leave the area so the killer is a camper"

That's a pretty stupid claim. Survivors aren't "camping" hooks. They are waiting for the killer to leave so they can get a "safe unhook" without penalties, and farming their teammate.

This is a realistic fix.^^^

Survivors will absolutely abuse any mechanic to get a win. Also if i hook a survivor and then all 3 run at me and the hook why should i be penalised for being too close to the hook when the survivors have given me no reason to leave the hook

well technically its called "hook rushing" but its the same, and despite your opinion it exists and is why devs dont update with things like this. Survivors have proven time and time again they will literally not leave the hook to punish the killer in dev tests. ;)

You only have 11 posts, so it's understandable you didn't know that this is something that went up for testing, the testing Survivors abused it hard, and it was quickly scrapped.

Its a lost cause, everyone know its not fun for one side but it seems that only some people want to adress this situation. They will often tell you that face camping is okay and its a strategy because they don't want you thinking about it as a problem, thus being more acceptable to it. Things like this will only change when the mindset of the players change aswell, you don't need to escape or 4k everymatch to have fun but most people are only interested on this cause they count that as a win, even if you face camped every survivor or got a free escape through the hatch to achieve it.

Thats a rumor and isnt true

When a team gets wiped by camping and complains, it's like beating someone in Street Fighter using only throws and having them complain.

Everyone knows the most difficult opponents are the 100% predictable ones that use 100% counterable moves.

People mistake camping for a lot of other #########. I just had a game today where a Bubba was patrolling a hook because there were three healthy survivors, two around the hook, and the other opening the exit further from the feud... And no he didn't have NoED.
In that instance, he's just trying to stop the other two survivors from getting the unhook and body blocking there way to the exit (Which they in fact did).

And what did prevent the killer to chase them? Furthermore, what did prevent the devs to add requirements: only pauses when no survivors are around X meters.

Most the fact that it was a 100% dead give away of the location of the enemy.

Camping is never against the rules, any killer can play the way they want to play, It was never wrong.
And if this suggestion was made it will be abused like... a LOT

Its a hard thing to balance out cause swf survivors have proven it can be overcome with teamwork. Its harder for solo players but changing it for them only makes it easier for swf. Then there is also how the ease of a rescue effects the pressure killers can generate. There has to be a balance of danger & possibility.

Well, this is camping indeed. However, camping is the only choice for the killer, if they intend to win the game.

Little known fact: Wraith face camps himself in the mirror on the weekend because he has no friends. So sad!
