######### with vault hits?

i thought the latest patches adjusted the window hits so they didn’t seem so late. But in fact they seem to be even worse on ps4. I am getting hit ludicrously late after vaulting. From survivor perspective these are completely ridiculous. Its like a vault, then a step as they arrive to the window, yet they get a hit. It’s extremely frustrating. Is anyone else experiencing this?

    @Sleephartha you have to see how this works in the client to host relationship. On the client side their client has 0 ping to itself. Although, you traveled out the window your data still has to be sent to the host which is the killer. The killer or 'the host' determines if you got hit. On your side you are just getting the data of the killer getting closer to the vault. At that time the killer has probably already swung at you and didn't get the update that you are away from the window. It is latency. On the killer side most hits at windows are really clean. While some are even misses as you are still vaulting it on the host's end.

    I've had the opposite. I've been right on someone, they vault, I'm clearly in lunge range and swipe through the window, but still miss, or hit the extended invisible barrier around the window frame... Lmao

    thanks for the constructive responses. I guess whats bothersome is It almost always feels really wrong. All other hits in the game feel accurate. But almost every time these do not feel accurate. And i could see if i stopped outside the window after i vaulted. But its a fluid motion. And the idea of doing a fluid running jump through a window and continuing to run while leaving someone on the other side, where they have to stop at that barrier, yet they still hit your running form while they are stopped at a barrier... it just makes no sense.

    Just reverse time for yourself ONLY, and that's what the killer sees.


    For example: You Have 150ms


    Everything you do is delayed by 0,150 of a second, so if you vaulted the window 0,150 seconds ago. Then you're just now finishing vaulting the animation for the killer's PoV.

    I think they traded pallet hits for window hits

    I havent been able to hit anyone trough pallets since the 3.0.0 update came live

    On the other hand i have been able to hit survivor medium vaulting with my lunge from like 10 meters far from them

    I recall someone saying a while ago: "If you see red, you are probably dead." or something similar. (badly paraphrased i'm sure.)

    But, the idea was....if you can perceive the killer's red stain, they are too close for you to make the vault. Not sure how accurate that is, but it has been helping me personally.

    tbh, window vaults are #########, devs said that they would make it so you keep your momentum after vaulting a window, but they never did. And I feel like its even worse than before, because you'll always notice that after vaulting a window you get stuck in one place for less than a second, which results in those bullshit window hits no matter the latency

    Happened to me once with the red stain nowhere near me. I fast vault the window, my animation gets completed, I take a step forward then I get hit.

    to be fair didnt they also claim they got rid of those dumb-looking hits after the lunge animation has ended? well that was bs too, for me at least
