The Nurse gets tired, you can distrakt her with running out of sight and change Direction than.

But the Spirit is tooooo fast with teleporting and Running. Its luck if she didnt hit me!! After 1 Year i really hate her. Sry

Wow how poetic. At Lerys its easier , Factory too. It depends on Mapdesign. Shes totally overpowered.

There are ways to make spirit less powerful. Iron will, quick and quiet, dance with me + lithe, dead hard, poised. This are some perks that kinda hurts spirit.

I like Lerys memorial with her honestly. People always assume if they slow vault a window you will miss them. Jokes on them I already predicted that play.

I would say of those that hurt the most is Poised honestly. They randomly disappear and I'm always like "#########?" Its not common enough for me to realize it the second it happens. Only works once per match though.

Again, it pains me whenever someone asks for a nerf for any killer.

Bring Iron Will and Urban Evasion, when you see she's teleporting stop running and crouch away

    (Still can't edit on mobile)

My suggestion won't work if the Spirit you're facing has the Father's Glasses add-on

Quick and quiet, lithe, dance with me, and iron will.

Turning around and running towards spirit on your same track.

Running around a corner and stopping.

    Calling bluffs.

Distancing yourself after she gets out of phasing (she's slow af).

My main killer is spirit (and freddy) and it's certainly harder to counter her, but it's doable.

If you have troubles with Spirits, try using iron will, spine chill or/and dead hard. Calm spirit is kinda ok to because spies work good on her.

How? Did you not read not just one, but ALL of the counters everyone said up there?! (And I main Bing Bong Boi and Legion, soon Spirit, but not everyone plays her, overexertion detected)

Honestly this is awkward. From a survivor and killer aspect I wish they would give most lower tier killers some much needed Quality of Life buffs so you wont just see the same killers in red rank all the time.

  • Ember_Hunter

Exactly, we need all killers to be A tier at least, since people get sick of the trinity three easily XD

Agreed I love playing Spirit, but I know people who have played her all day everyday and that's a reason I would prefer the QoL buffs over nerfs.

Why it kills me whenever I see people asking for Nurse, Spirit, Billy nerfs and devs nerfs Piggy, Legion(the most hurt), and hopefully not Freddy. :)

Same its mostly toxic survivors or people who haven't learned counters yet I feel who call for nerfs.

Well, if you are not going to actually look for tips to find how to play against a killer, sorry, that's your fault. :/ Spirit is a fun killer to play as and against, so good luck, most of the player base thinks she is almost perfect the way she is.

Spirit has footstep sounds and disturbs crows when phasing. Both of which are noticeable inside her terror radius. She also has an audio cue while phasing(when outside terror radius).

To add further, if you suspect she's faking her power then run towards and slow vault a window or flashlight her. When she messes up and is without relevant add ons her recharge time is slow which punishes her with 110% movement speed. If she chose recharge time addons that takes the place of other possible ones like speed or duration. If you make it into a guessing game you are playing against her wrong.

I really wish they would honestly. Not sure why you were being a sarcastic dick when everyone already knows they wont cuz luls why have a game where anyone is viable at red ranks.

She doesn't teleport. Her movement speed while not using her power is slow as ass. She cannot see you while using her power. There is plenty of counterplay to the Spirit. I just led a spirit on a 4 minute chase lastnight and she had to give up and chase someone else. I also have played a LOT of spirit in my time playing DbD. She does have weaknesses. Examine them and take advantage of them.

How to use perks? Lightweight is automatic, Iron Will is Automatic when injured, Urban Evasion is just crouch speed increased. Tips are a good way on how to learn to play against killers.

"I don't want to have to play well to beat a killer, I want the game to be easy so I don't have to think" is basically what you are saying

  • Talmeer

It is good what you try here Ember, but you need to realize that some people are just learn resistend. Don't waste your time.

In other games they would be thrown out of the Clan/Guild/Whatever with that kind of attitude.

Sadly in dbd, the devs listen sometimes to them, that's why we should try to reach out to the devs, instead of giving people tips that not even want to hear them.

If they have one day enough from being the end of the food chain, they will ask themself for tips.

That I have learn here in those forums sadly :|.

It's so cringe when people say Spirit is OP with no counterplay. Those people need to spend some time playing as Spirit. You will never become a good survivor by only playing survivor, and you'll never become a good killer by only playing killer.

People tend to think of outplaying and counterplay as something that has to be more or less infinite in duration in regards to the trial, meaning that unless I can run the killer for 3 gens, they have no counterplay. Reality is, stalling a killer for 30-40 seconds in every chase is more than enough time to win a game if your teammates are productive and equally capable.

How does this relate to Spirit? Her base power has a short-ish duration and a decent cooldown. This goes back to playing as the Spirit and knowing your enemy. If she just came out of a phase near you and is staring at you, I guarantee she is wasting time trying to mindgame you while her power is on cooldown. Keep her power cooldown in mind.

Getting back to her power duration and base speed...you can use distance to your advantage. Too many survivors try sit at loops while she's some distance away. Create distance first. Make her burn her power duration to actually catch up to you. Then she won't have it at the first loop you get to. Waste her time.

Use noise to your advantage. A good Spirit will really rely on noise. My favorite thing to do is to run to a pallet and drop it from the side closest to her. It's counter-intuitive and most Spirits will phase to the opposite side. Then they have to play the pallet at 110% for a little bit. Turn pallets into guessing games for her, not just you.

Related to noise, use corn. This is also somewhat survivor dependent. The male characters echo badly in corn, especially Jake. It gets very confusing. Bill on Autohaven can also get very confusing.

We haven't even gotten into perks yet. You don't need to run perks to counter Clown, Plague, etc. So if Spirit is really giving you a hard time, throw on Iron Will, Spin Chill, OoO. Make it so a smart Spirit won't even bother chasing you.

Spirit is fine. Prayer beads are arguably not.

  • MegMain98
    MegMain98 Member Posts: 2,913

@edgarpoop I try to avoid saying Spirit has counterplay because people will jump down your throat and say she is overpowered.

I’ll say that she doesn’t have as MUCH counterplay as a normal M1 killer but there are perks that help against her. You need to be aware of your surroundings, you can’t run around like an idiot and expect her not to track you.

It’s really a guessing game on both sides. The Spirit has to guess where you are going and you have to guess where she is gonna phase. Some people don’t like that aspect of her and the fact that she can just stand still and you have no idea whether she is phasing or not.

Counterplay does not equal running around the killer for 5 generators and wasting all their time on Haddonfield.

Only thing that has zero counterplay is Prayer Beads.

I don’t have an issue with a killer being strong. I play Spirit and I really do not care about whether people find her fun to go against or not. I’m not gonna feel bad about using her when I like playing her. I despise Legion but that doesn’t stop me from getting Legion for half of my games.

  • edgarpoop
    edgarpoop Member Posts: 8,334

Prayer Beads need to at least swap places with Mother Daughter Ring in terms of rarity. Or reduce phase movement speed. Something.

I think part of the "0 counterplay" argument people make against Spirit is that you don't have to make any concessions as a survivor to most of the killer roster in this game, so when killers like Spirit or Billy come around, a portion of the survivor community loses their mind. People confuse not having to alter their gameplay in any way against a Clown for counterplay, and they mistake necessary counterplay against Spirit as her being OP.

  • MegMain98
    MegMain98 Member Posts: 2,913

@edgarpoop Agreed with change rarity. I believe the downside to MDR should transfer to Prayer Beads. MDR shouldn’t have a downside. Still won’t change the fact that I have nearly 50 Prayer Beads add-ons.

Spirit is not as easy to counter as most killers. Plague? Don’t cleanse. Hag? Flashlights. Wraith? Leatherface? Doctor? Just loop them.

The problem people have with killers like Spirit and Nurse is that they are the power role in a chase. You can’t pallet loop them and expect to last long, you actually have to break line of sight and lose them during a chase. Counterplay with those two aren’t simple as it SHOULD be with every killer but it’s not.

Gonna be honest I track with grass and birds before sound since it was messed up for so long.

Define "fun." Because if you can only have fun when you have control over the situation, than you could say no killers are fun to play as except Nurse and Spirit. Because those are the only two who feel like they have control in a chase.
