4 out of 5 games are like this.

It might not be a leatherface, and he might not sit in front of you with a chainsaw out. Maybe they just hide a bit further or circle the hook. But as soon as someone comes for the save, the killer is in position to instantly down us the literal second we are off the hook. But this is more or less the experience of survivor gameplay for 4 out of every 5 games played.

How is this acceptable? @Peanits @not_Queen

It doesn't go away but it does become less common the higher rank you get, both because killers realize its a poor strategy, and because survivors are learning to loop and evade more effectively. Not necessarily a solution but practicing looping is a solid way of making rounds more fun in the future

Because they're the killer, their goal is to get kills. And if they had a ######### match in the previous couple of games or even had success killing survivors like this then sure, why not do this?

The real thing to do in this situation is for your team to rush gens and get out, letting the killer only get 1 maybe 2 kills max.

Then if he had a brain he'd realise camping isnt a viable strategy. Hence camping like this is rarer at higher ranks.

But because no-one does that at lower ranks, camping is a viable strategy, and thats why this happens.

@ClogWench he has an insta-down and (possible) anti-loop power of played efficiently. Billy can keep someone on the hook if he is camping, should he be reworked?

@GrootDude Billy certainly has threatening camping potential but his is a single targeted chainsaw swipe, meaning if it misses or hits the person still on the hook, you now have an opportunity to save. Leatherface doesn't give you that at all. He creates an aoe that instantly downs you letting him perfectly protect someone on the hook.

Besides the camping aspect, Leatherface has the problem of faulty add-ons as well as a power that really doesn't give him much leverage at all. A rework would honestly be the best thing for him and anyone facing him.

Not really, myself and many other leatherface mains think a rework woulod be kind of absurd. He is useful in some circumstances and is WAY better than just camping, though he is good at it granted people often think thats all he can do.

He just needs some addon changes, tantrum change and basic number changes to his base kit and he's completely fine.

Also @ClogWench I made a thread with ideas to rework his add ons.

Well, you're entitled to your opinions. Personally I think a rework would be a solid step towards overall better game health.

Just because some people are bad at the game and (ab)use him for camping? That's no reason to rework a character.

It's a LF with two gens left, no ruin, and you are on your first hook.

Looks to me like he is salvaging the best he can from an already lost game.

I'm not particularly fond LF's addons or base kit - he deserves more than four uniques, and more in general to set him apart from Hillbilly.

For a rework, I liked one I saw that would lower his terror radius to 24m, made his grunts more audible so he was a bit worse at camping, and gave him 6 Tantrum Tokens: these could be used to destroy undropped pallets or windows, leaving them unusable for the rest of the match - these could only be used 30 seconds after hooking someone, incentivizing less camping. New addons would give more tokens, more speed for destruction, or the ability to destroy chests or even a generator at the cost of 5 tokens.

Maybe ... after a killer hooks a player .. they get teleported to a random location on the map and temporarily blinded.

(This is a JOKE btw, but all too often I feel that this is what baby survivors keep asking for.)

This is the main problem in my opinion. It seems the long you play survivor, more rather the better you become at playing survivor, you will find yourself being the target of camp more and more often.

The people who dont get camped usually go down very quickly, the killer usually showing pity because he/she knows you're an easy down later.

On which rank are you playing? I rarely come across campers.

A mechanic that fixes struggle state and even further punishes campers. If you turn it into skill checks staying on the hook for struggle can be considered objective points from the skill checks. Then struggle points for surviving. Therefore you gain points for helping your team beat the campers! Although, you never really face campers at higher ranks.

Its every rank, it just depends on whether the killer is horny or not

Camping is older than the Entity itself.

It will never be removed from the game.

But it can be heavily decentivised.

Which is recommended for a game like this where camping is so unpleasant that it actually makes people quit permanently for that reason alone.
